According to a survey conducted in 2024, 43 percent of Americans said that they thought that the relations between racial groups in the United States are getting worse in the last five years, while 27 percent said that the relations between racial groups have stayed the same.

In 2023, 52 percent of Black Democrats and 48 percent of Black Republicans in the U.S. believed that racism in health care was a major problem in the United States. Democrats in comparison to Republicans, across all racial groups, are more likely to believe that racism is a major problem in health care in the U.S. as of August 2023.

As of August 2023, 52 percent of Black adults in the U.S. believed that racism in healthcare was a major problem, while a further 31 percent said that it was a minor problem. Compared to other racial groups, White U.S. adults were less likely to believe that racism in healthcare was a major issue in the U.S. in 2023.

As of 2024, 35 percent of surveyed Americans said that they personally worried a great deal about race relations in the United States, while 29 percent said that they worried a fair amount. This is a slight decrease from the previous year, when 38 percent of Americans said that they worried a great deal about race relations.

A majority of both male and female respondents in 2024 thought that racism was either somewhat prevalent, or a great deal prevalent, in the society of the United Kingdom. Female respondents were more likely to believe racism was present in UK society than men, while 19 percent of men felt that racism was not very prevalent.

In June 2024, the National Consultative Commission on Human Rights published its annual report on the state of racism in France. It appeared that racist acts highly increased in the last year, going from 1,636 acts in 2022 to 3,139 in 2023. Therefore, in the context of the legislative elections in June 2024, and the rise of far-right parties, the Commission stepped out and called on the French not to vote for the National Rally in the upcoming elections.

This statistic displays the share of people of African descent experiencing racial discrimination in access to housing in the last five years in selected Nordic countries from 2015 to 2016. According to the results of the survey, 20 percent of people of African descent in Finland experienced racial discrimination in housing. The corresponding figure for people of African descent in Denmark was nine percent.

Anti-Black or African American attacks were the most common form of racist hate crime in the United States in 2023, with 3,027 cases. Anti-White hate crimes were the next most common form of race-based hate crime in that year, with 831 incidents.

In 2023/24 there were 839 reported racist incidents in Northern Ireland, a slight decline compared to the previous reporting year.

According to a survey in July 2020, 81 percent of Democratic respondents said that racism is a current problem in the United States that continues to hold back people of color, while 72 percent of Republican respondents said that it is a historical problem that has largely been solved.

In 2023, the FBI knew of 2,586 perpetrators of anti-Black or African American hate crimes conducted in the United States in that year. Furthermore, another 802 perpetrators of anti-White hate crimes were known to the FBI in that year.

According to a 2021 survey of millennials and members of Generation Z in New Zealand, 61 percent of millennials reported feeling systemic racism is widespread in society in general. In comparison, 59 percent of Gen Z respondents reported the same.

During a survey conducted in 2020, 34 percent of people aged 65 and over reported that they believe there is a lot of discrimination against white people in the United States, compared to 48 percent in the same age group who said they felt the opposite.

The number of hate crimes motivated by race or ethnicity reported to police in Canada increased by 126 incidents in 2023 in comparison to the previous year. With 2,128 incidents, the number thereby reached its highest value in the observed period.

Hate crimes continue to be a significant issue in Spain, with racism and xenophobia accounting for the majority of reported incidents in 2023. Out of 2,150 total hate crimes reported that year, 856 cases were attributed to racism or xenophobia, representing over 41 percent of all incidents. This was followed by crimes related to sexual orientation or identity, which accounted for 522 cases, or 23 percent of the total. Trends in hate crime reporting While racism and xenophobia remain the most prevalent motivators for hate crimes in Spain, the number of reported cases has fluctuated in recent years. Between 2017 and 2022, reported cases of racism nearly doubled, from 347 to 740. However, 2023 saw a decrease to 569 cases. Similarly, religion-related hate crimes peaked in 2017 with 103 cases, dropping to 55 in 2023. Addressing hate crimes Spanish authorities have shown varying degrees of success in solving hate crimes. In 2023, 71.81 percent of all reported hate crimes were solved. Notably, 100 percent of cases involving generational discrimination were resolved, while 66 percent of religion-related crimes were solved. Despite these efforts, discrimination remains a widespread concern, particularly among young people. A 2023 survey revealed that the majority of young Spaniards had experienced discrimination at least once in their lives, with physical appearance and age being the most common reasons cited.

According to a survey conducted in September 2024, 35 percent of people aged between 18 and 24 thought that there was a great deal of racism in the UK, with a further 42 percent believing the UK to be a somewhat racist society.

This graph shows the annual number of police-reported racially motivated hate crimes that have occurred in England and Wales from April 2009 to 2020. After a decrease during the years 2010 and 2013, annual increases were featured in the following years, resulting in a peak reaching over 78 thousand recorded cases of racist hate crime 2018/19.

In 2023, 18 percent of those surveyed in Australia who were born overseas experienced discrimination based on skin color, ethic origin, or religion in the preceding 12 months. 59 percent of respondents believed that racism was a fairly or very big problem in Australia in 2023.

This statistic shows the number of respondents who indicated that they have experienced racial discrimination when renting property in Singapore as of January 2019. During the period surveyed, 23 percent of survey respondents claimed that they have experienced racial discrimination during the process of renting a property. Out of the respondents who have faced racial discrimination when renting, 49 percent were ethnically Indian. In comparison, only 18 percent were ethnically Chinese.

As of 2019, almost half of Hungarians had a negative opinion on people of Roma ethnicity. At the same time, 41 percent of respondents were rejective of Muslims.
