The stock dataset comprises historical market data for various dates. It includes opening, high, low, and closing prices, as well as trading volume for a given stock. Moving averages (MA5, MA10, MA20), relative strength index (RSI), and moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicators provide insights into price trends and momentum. The dataset spans from May 15, 2019, to September 8, 2023. Notable fluctuations in prices and indicators suggest market volatility. Key metrics like SMA (Simple Moving Average) and EMA (Exponential Moving Average) further analyze price trends, aiding investors in making informed decisions about buying or selling the stock.

Stock market forecasting remains a complex and challenging task to forecast, traditional technical analysis methods such as RSI, EMA, and Candlestick Patterns often fail to analyze the stock market time series pattern with many recent studies now exploring forecasting using machine learning or neural networks, other studies have improved accuracy or decreased regression losses by applying technical indicators and sentiment analysis. This dataset aims to be used to analyze the performance of machine learning models in predicting the next day's stock market trend by combining technical and sentiment-based features. The technical indicators are derived from historical price data focusing on swing trends in the market and sentiment features are extracted using FinBERT from Benzinga Pro as a reliable financial news source. There are limitations to the dataset especially financial news articles. Limitations such as the availability of news data remain a major challenge that has the potential to improve the performance of a machine learning model.

Time series modelling for the prediction of stocks prices is a challenging task. Political events, market expectations and economic factors are just a few known factors that can impact financial market behaviour. The financial market is a complex, noisy, evolutionary and chaotic field of study that attracts many enthusiasts and researches — the first, usually driven by the economic benefit of it, the latter, inspired by the challenge of handling such complex data.
This project aims to predict Facebook (FB) next day stock price direction with machine learning algorithms. Technical indicators and global market indexes are used, and their influence on the forecast accuracy is analysed.
Daily values were retrieved (volume, open, close, low and high prices) from Yahoo! Finance website. For Facebook (FB), July 2012 was the earliest data available. The date range is July 2012 to November 2018.
The closing price of current day C(t) and closing price from the previous day C(t-1) are compared to build the initial dataset. The objective is to define if the price trend is going up or down by analysing these two values. For each instance, a comparison was made and recorded. If the price is going up, C(t) > C(t-1), class “1” is assigned. Class “0” is assigned for the opposite case.
Research was initiated to understand which features could help the model to forecast the stock direction. Three main routes were found: Lag features, Technical Indicators and Global Market Indexes. Below is an explanation of each group of features.
Lag features are features that contain the closing price and direction of previous days and it is a common strategy for Time Series models. The following features were added:
Technical indicators are used by researches and financial market analysts to support stock market trend forecasting. Common indicators retrieved from the literature were selected and calculated for Facebook stock. Techical Indicators added:
Technical indicators provide a suggestion of the stock price movement. Additional features were created for each technical indicator by analysing its daily value and assigning a class according to their meaning. Class “1” is given if the indicator numerical value suggests upper trend, class “0” for a downtrend. In other words, financial market analysis is performed at a simplistic level, in the attempt to translate what the continuous value means.
For a given country or region, the stock market index characterises the performance of its financial market and the overall local economy. For this reason, the same day performance of these markets could contribute to the machine learning model predictions. Six global indexes were added as features, with their closing direction as up or down, class “1” or “0”, respectively. Data for these indexes (Nikkei, Hang Seng, All Ordinaries, Euronext 100, SSE and DAX) were also retrieved from Yahoo! Finance.

As of 2023, the global market size for data cleaning tools is estimated at $2.5 billion, with projections indicating that it will reach approximately $7.1 billion by 2032, reflecting a robust CAGR of 12.1% during the forecast period. This growth is primarily driven by the increasing importance of data quality in business intelligence and analytics workflows across various industries.
The growth of the data cleaning tools market can be attributed to several critical factors. Firstly, the exponential increase in data generation across industries necessitates efficient tools to manage data quality. Poor data quality can result in significant financial losses, inefficient business processes, and faulty decision-making. Organizations recognize the value of clean, accurate data in driving business insights and operational efficiency, thereby propelling the adoption of data cleaning tools. Additionally, regulatory requirements and compliance standards also push companies to maintain high data quality standards, further driving market growth.
Another significant growth factor is the rising adoption of AI and machine learning technologies. These advanced technologies rely heavily on high-quality data to deliver accurate results. Data cleaning tools play a crucial role in preparing datasets for AI and machine learning models, ensuring that the data is free from errors, inconsistencies, and redundancies. This surge in the use of AI and machine learning across various sectors like healthcare, finance, and retail is driving the demand for efficient data cleaning solutions.
The proliferation of big data analytics is another critical factor contributing to market growth. Big data analytics enables organizations to uncover hidden patterns, correlations, and insights from large datasets. However, the effectiveness of big data analytics is contingent upon the quality of the data being analyzed. Data cleaning tools help in sanitizing large datasets, making them suitable for analysis and thus enhancing the accuracy and reliability of analytics outcomes. This trend is expected to continue, fueling the demand for data cleaning tools.
In terms of regional growth, North America holds a dominant position in the data cleaning tools market. The region's strong technological infrastructure, coupled with the presence of major market players and a high adoption rate of advanced data management solutions, contributes to its leadership. However, the Asia Pacific region is anticipated to witness the highest growth rate during the forecast period. The rapid digitization of businesses, increasing investments in IT infrastructure, and a growing focus on data-driven decision-making are key factors driving the market in this region.
As organizations strive to maintain high data quality standards, the role of an Email List Cleaning Service becomes increasingly vital. These services ensure that email databases are free from invalid addresses, duplicates, and outdated information, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communications. By leveraging sophisticated algorithms and validation techniques, email list cleaning services help businesses improve their email deliverability rates and reduce the risk of being flagged as spam. This not only optimizes marketing efforts but also protects the reputation of the sender. As a result, the demand for such services is expected to grow alongside the broader data cleaning tools market, as companies recognize the importance of maintaining clean and accurate contact lists.
The data cleaning tools market can be segmented by component into software and services. The software segment encompasses various tools and platforms designed for data cleaning, while the services segment includes consultancy, implementation, and maintenance services provided by vendors.
The software segment holds the largest market share and is expected to continue leading during the forecast period. This dominance can be attributed to the increasing adoption of automated data cleaning solutions that offer high efficiency and accuracy. These software solutions are equipped with advanced algorithms and functionalities that can handle large volumes of data, identify errors, and correct them without manual intervention. The rising adoption of cloud-based data cleaning software further bolsters this segment, as it offers scalability and ease of
