Per USDOT, "The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and its partners from all levels of government recognize the need for a National Address Database (NAD). Accurate and up-to-date addresses are critical to transportation safety and are a vital part of Next Generation 9-1-1. They are also essential for a broad range of government services, including mail delivery, permitting, and school siting. To meet this need, USDOT partners with address programs from state, local, and tribal governments to compile their authoritative data into the NAD."District of Columbia (DC) Residential AddressesData currency: Current federal service (Address Points from National Address Database)NGDAID: 196 (National Address Database (NAD))For more information: Getting to know the National Address Database (NAD); National Address DatabaseFor feedback, please contact: Esri_US_Federal_Data@esri.comNGDA Data SetThis data set is part of the NGDA Transportation Theme Community. NZ Addresses is the national authoritative dataset for physical addresses in New Zealand.

This dataset contains the street number, street name and suburb of an address, as well as a unique ID and Territorial Authority.

Refer to the NZ Addresses Data Dictionary for detailed metadata and information about this dataset.

Please note this dataset replaced NZ Street Address in January 2023.

    Background

This dataset provides all allocated addresses as advised to Toitū Te Whenua LINZ by Territorial Authorities (TAs). Under the Local Government Act 1974 (section 319) it is the responsibility of the TAs to advise the Surveyor-General at Toitū Te Whenua LINZ of all allocated addresses in their district.

Address data is maintained by Toitū Te Whenua LINZ in the Address Information Management System (AIMS) and Comprehensive Address Data Store (CADS), which are centralised databases for the management of national addresses, including for electoral purposes. This dataset is updated weekly on the LINZ Data Service.

    Resident/Occupant Database

Alesco Data's Resident/Occupant Database includes over 143 million addresses and reaches virtually 100% of every U.S. household in every Zip Code throughout the country. With newly added business addresses, you now have the option to reach every postal delivery point in the country.

This address file is updated every month in conjunction with the U.S. Post Office, making it the freshest, most deliverable mailing list available. You have the ability to order addresses by Carrier Route, ZIP, County or State.

Our Resident/Occupant Database contains names of residents on approximately 80% of the file and are available when requested. Otherwise, records are addressed to "Resident" or “Boxholder”. This file is ideal for saturation mailings. Each list is “walk sequenced” at the time of order and qualifies for the lowest available postage rates.

    Description

The Street_and_Address_Composite will return a geographic coordinate when a street address is entered. A user can enter an address either manually or by bulk input from a database or other source. The geocoder returns a coordinate pair and standardized address for each input address it is able to match. The NYS ITS Geospatial Services geocoder uses a series of combinations of reference data and configuration parameters to optimize both the likelihood of a match and the quality of the results. The reference data supporting the geocoder is stored in Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standard. The first composite locator (Street_and_Address_Composite) is made up of the following set of locators which are most likely to return a high quality hit. The locators are listed in the order in which they will be accessed along with a brief description of the locator's source data. This pilot dataset provides more comprehensive national address data for New Zealand, incorporating previously missing addresses to our official address data.

NZ Addresses (Pilot) comprises both AIMS addresses and allocated addresses identified as missing from AIMS gathered from Territorial Authorities.

To improve ease of use, this dataset also includes:

    -

                 Territorial Authority association

Please note: we are still working through a process of identifying missing addresses. NZ Addresses (Pilot) will continue to be populated with missing addresses as they are verified.

AIMS address set and the simplified version NZ Street Address will continue to be updated by LINZ as normal as advice is received from Territorial Authorities.

About the pilot The Toitū Te Whenua LINZ Addresssing Team developed routines and procedures to validate address sets sourced from Territorial Authorities against the AIMS address set.

NZ Addresses (Pilot) is for test purposes only. The pilot dataset is not intended to be used in place of the AIMS suite of published addresses (such as NZ Street Address).

The pilot will run for six months, until December 2021. Next steps will be informed by feedback received during the pilot.

Pilot feedback We welcome your feedback on NZ Addresses (Pilot). The questions below could help guide feedback:
    1. How useful is NZ Addresses (Pilot) to your application? 2. Have you identified any aspects of NZ Addresses (Pilot) that could be improved? 3. Have you encountered any addresses that you feel should not have been included as a missing address? 4. Any other feedback?

    Allegheny County
    Description

This dataset contains street centerlines for vehicular and foot traffic in Allegheny County.

Street Centerlines are classified as Primary Road, Secondary Road, Unpaved Road, Limited Access Road, Connecting Road, Jeep Trail, Walkway, Stairway, Alleyway and Unknown. A Primary Road is a street paved with either concrete or asphalt that has two (2) or more lanes in each direction. A Secondary Road is a residential type hard surface road, or any hard surface road with only one (1) lane in each direction. An Unpaved Road is any road covered with packed dirt or gravel. A Limited Access Road is one that can only be accessed from a Connecting Road such as an Interstate Highway. A Connecting Road is a ramp connecting a Limited Access Road to a surface street. A Walkway is a paved or unpaved foot track that connects two (2) roads together. Walkways within College Campuses will also be shown. Recreational pedestrian trails and walkways through parks and wooded areas are not considered transportation and will not be digitized during this update. Walkways will not have an Edge of Pavement feature. A Stairway is a paved or wooden structure that connects two (2) roads together. Recreational pedestrian trails and walkways through parks and wooded areas are not considered transportation and will not be digitized during this update. An Alleyway is a road, usually narrower than a Secondary Road that runs between, but parallel to, two (2) Secondary Roads. Generally, Outbuildings will be adjacent to Alleyways. A Jeep Trail is a vehicular trail used for recreation. A Jeep Trail will not have an associated edge of pavement feature. A road coded as Unknown is a road, which in the judgment of the photogrammetrist, does not fall into any of the categories listed.

Centerlines will be visually placed between the edges of pavement. One (1) centerline will be placed between each edge of pavement. Roads with medial strips, such as Limited Access Roads, will have two (2) centerlines for those portions of the road where the medial strip is present. For roads that terminate with a cul-de-sac, the centerline shall continue through the center of the cul-de-sac and stop at the edge of pavement.

All attribute data will remain for all Street Centerlines that are not updated. For Street Centerlines that are new, the only attribute field that will be populated is the FeatureCode and UPDATE_YEAR. If a Street Centerline is graphically modified, the existing attribute data will remain and the UPDATE_YEAR will be set to 2004. The attribute values for 2004 Street Centerlines should be considered suspicious until verified.

The ArcInfo Street Centerline coverage that is being updated has 800 segments of Paper Streets, 66 segments of Vacated Streets and 78 segments of Steps. Street Centerlines that are coded as Paper Streets in the OWNER field will remain unchanged in the updated dataset unless the area has been developed. In the event the area has been developed, the Street Centerlines will be modified to reflect the true condition of the visible roads. Street Centerlines that are coded as Vacated in the OWNER field will also remain unchanged in the updated dataset. In the event the area coinciding with the Vacated Streets has been developed, the Vacated Street Centerlines will be removed in order to reflect the true condition of the area. Street Centerlines that are coded as Steps in the OWNER field will be updated to reflect the current condition of the area. The Street Centerlines dataset consists of an external table that links to the supplied coverages and the Geodatabase created for this project using the "-ID" (UserID) field. In order to maintain the link to the external table and not loose valuable data the decision was made to keep all database information currently in the Street Centerline dataset. When a Street Centerline is modified during the update process, the field "UPDATE_YEAR" is set to 2004. All other database attributes will remain unchanged from the original values. All Street Centerline database data with an "UPDATE_YEAR" of 2004 should be verified before used. In some occasions the Street Centerline was divided into two (2) sections to allow for a new road intersection. Both sections of the resulting Street Centerline will have the same database attributes including Address Range. All new Street Centerlines will have zero (0) for "SystemID" and "UserID".

This dataset was previously harvested from Allegheny County’s GIS data portal. The new authoritative source for this data is now the PASDA page (https://www.pasda.psu.edu/uci/DataSummary.aspx?dataset=1224), which includes links to historical versions of the shapefile representations of this data.

    Description

Geoscape G-NAF is the geocoded address database for Australian businesses and governments. It’s the trusted source of geocoded address data for Australia with over 50 million contributed addresses distilled into 15.4 million G-NAF addresses. It is built and maintained by Geoscape Australia using independently examined and validated government data.

From 22 August 2022, Geoscape Australia is making G-NAF available in an additional simplified table format. G-NAF Core makes accessing geocoded addresses easier by utilising less technical effort.

G-NAF Core will be updated on a quarterly basis along with G-NAF.

Further information about contributors to G-NAF is available here.

With more than 15 million Australian physical address record, G-NAF is one of the most ubiquitous and powerful spatial datasets. The records include geocodes, which are latitude and longitude map coordinates. G-NAF does not contain personal information or details relating to individuals.

Updated versions of G-NAF are published on a quarterly basis. Previous versions are available here

Users have the option to download datasets with feature coordinates referencing either GDA94 or GDA2020 datums.

Changes in the May 2025 release

    • Nationally, the May 2025 update of G-NAF shows an overall increase of 47,194 addresses (0.30%). The total number of addresses in G-NAF now stands at 15,753,927 of which 14,909,770 or 94.64% are principal.

    • At some locations, there are unit-numbered addresses that appear to be duplicate addresses. Geoscape is working to identify these locations and include these addresses as separate addresses in G-NAF. To facilitate this process, some secondary addresses have had the word RETAIL added to their building names. In the first instance, this process is being progressively rolled out to identified locations, but it is expected that the requirement for this will become ongoing.

    • There is one new locality in G-NAF: Keswick Island, QLD.

    • The source data used for generating G-NAF STREET_LOCALITY_POINT data in New South Wales has an updated datum and changed from GDA94 to GDA2020. This has resulted in updates to the STREET_LOCALITY_POINT geometry for approximately 91,000 records, however, more than 95% of these have moved less than a metre.

    • Geoscape has moved product descriptions, guides and reports online to https://docs.geoscape.com.au.

Further information on G-NAF, including FAQs on the data, is available here or through Geoscape Australia’s network of partners. They provide a range of commercial products based on G-NAF, including software solutions, consultancy and support.

Additional information: On 1 October 2020, PSMA Australia Limited began trading as Geoscape Australia.

    License Information

Use of the G-NAF downloaded from data.gov.au is subject to the End User Licence Agreement (EULA)

The EULA terms are based on the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). However, an important restriction relating to the use of the open G-NAF for the sending of mail has been added.

The open G-NAF data must not be used for the generation of an address or the compilation of an address for the sending of mail unless the user has verified that each address to be used for the sending of mail is capable of receiving mail by reference to a secondary source of information. Further information on this use restriction is available here.

End users must only use the data in ways that are consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles issued under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Users must also note the following attribution requirements:

Preferred attribution for the Licensed Material:

_G-NAF © Geoscape Australia licensed by the Commonwealth of Australia under the _Open Geo-coded National Address File (G-NAF) End User Licence Agreement.

    Preferred attribution for Adapted Material:

Incorporates or developed using G-NAF © Geoscape Australia licensed by the Commonwealth of Australia under the Open Geo-coded National Address File (G-NAF) End User Licence Agreement.

What to Expect When You Download G-NAF

G-NAF is a complex and large dataset (approximately 5GB unpacked), consisting of multiple tables that will need to be joined prior to use. The dataset is primarily designed for application developers and large-scale spatial integration. Users are advised to read the technical documentation, including product change notices and the individual product descriptions before downloading and using the product. A quick reference guide on unpacking the G-NAF is also available.
