Over 660 Talk London users took part in the GLA's online health survey during March 2014. This explored people’s experiences of health services, views on health policies and health behaviours. An identical telephone poll with 1000 Londoners also ran between 14 and 16 March. The results will be used by the Mayor’s Health Team and the London Health Commission to inform their recommendations on improving health in London. The infographics summarise the key findings.

    Description

This dataset is published in 2017 by the OpenAIRE project and the FAIR Data Expert Group.

It contains two survey data files, two pdf-files summarising the results in a report and an infographic, and a Readme.txt file.

The OpenAIRE project supports the open science ambitions of the European Commission. The project and in particular the Research Data Management team provide support, training and information on the Open Research Data Pilot. In this context, a survey was carried out to collect feedback on the Horizon 2020 template for Data Management Plans (DMPs). The team collaborated with the FAIR data expert group, which is providing recommendations to the European Commission on turning FAIR data into reality. One of the specific tasks of the Expert Group is contributing to an evaluation of the Horizon 2020 approach to DMPs, including future revisions of the template and the development of additional sector/ discipline-specific guidance. The aim of the survey was to collect experiences of researchers and DMP reviewers with the DMP template and guidelines on FAIR data management in Horizon 2020. The survey assesses the usefulness of the guidelines and any aspects that are confusing and unclear to determine what improvements can be made.

Feedback was sought from both researchers and research support staff. The survey was initially scheduled to run from 22 May to 21 June 2017. Several organisations were asked to help announce the survey, including OpenAIRE’s National Open Access Desks, the FAIR data expert group, FOSTER, LIBER, and the RDA Interest Group on Active DMPs. When the first survey responses showed only a small share of researchers, more stakeholders were contacted to specifically target this community. The European Research Area was approached, whose project officers circulated the survey call among award holders of EC projects. Early-career researchers were also informed through the YEAR network and EURODOC. This resulted in an extension of the survey to 21 July 2017.

At the close of the survey on 21 July 2017, a total number of 289 responses were reached. 50% of the respondents indicated that they were researchers, and 60% that they were (also) research support staff. OpenAIRE and the FAIR data expert group are very pleased with this balanced outcome and would like to thank all colleagues and organisations who promoted the survey, as well as everyone who took part in it.

    Description

Upon exiting service, AmeriCorps members are invited to complete the AmeriCorps Member Exit Survey (AmeriCorps MES) to provide information on their service experiences. By collecting data on member experiences, AmeriCorps and its partners can better understand how to support its members, while individuals interested in becoming a member can see the benefits of serving. Members that leave service after completing their full term or members that depart from service early both complete the exit survey. The data includes information on members’ civic-mindedness, community involvement, cultural competency, and developed life and career skills (based on the AmeriCorps Member Theory of Change). As well as measures of members’ experience and training, motivations to serve, and post-service plans. Any data on members that started prior to them turning 18 years of age is excluded from this data. Since the start of the MES in 2015, there have been over 360,000 respondents. In 2020, 46,080 surveys were completed out of 58,427, for a completion rate of 79%.

The dataset displays the decimal percentages of members in each program that answered with the two most positive selections of each question’s available options. For example, the available answers for Question 12 are: ‘Much less likely, Somewhat less likely, No effect, Somewhat more likely, and Much more likely’. The data selected for Question 12 thus displays the percentage of members that responded with ‘Somewhat more likely or Much more likely’, therein providing the percentage of individuals who responded favorably to the question. Please access the AmeriCorps MES Data Dictionary file in the Attachments section under About This Dataset for more information.

To note: some members begin the survey, complete only a selection of the survey, and never finish the survey after starting. The responses of members that do not finish the survey are included in the calculations of proportions in the 2020 MES table. As a result, the total number of individuals answering each question of the MES varies question to question, though the number of partially finished surveys represent a fairly small portion of the total overall number of surveys given out in a given timeframe. The total number of finished surveys, partially completed surveys, and surveys that were never started can be found in the attachments section under "MES 2020 Total Counts".

To view a full copy of the AmeriCorps Member Exit Survey, please see the attachments section. All Open-ended questions featured on the AmeriCorps MES are omitted from this file

In 2019, 49,179 surveys were completed out of 62,602, for a completion rate of 78%.

The responses of members that do not finish the survey are included in the calculations of proportions in the 2019 MES table. As a result, the total number of individuals answering each question of the MES varies question to question, though the number of partially finished surveys represent a fairly small portion of the total overall number of surveys given out in a given timeframe. The total number of finished surveys, partially completed surveys, and surveys that were never started can be found in the attachments section under "MES 2019 Total Counts".
