Taichung city was home to many semiconductor producers, such as TSMC. In addition to that, many bicycle manufacturers had their factories there. Among those are Giant Bicycles, Merida Bicycles. and SRAM.

The urban land price index value for the special municipality Taoyuan City in September 2022 was ******. Like the other special municipalities, the urban land price increased rapidly from 2013 to 2016. However, in the case of Taoyuan City, the land prices peaked a year after they did in Taipei City and the spike was much less pronounced. Since then, the land prices settled at an index value of around 100.
