    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Johnson City population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Johnson City across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Johnson City was 73,337, a 1.13% increase year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Johnson City population was 72,515, an increase of 1.93% compared to a population of 71,143 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Johnson City increased by 17,608. In this period, the peak population was 73,337 in the year 2023. The numbers suggest that the population has not reached its peak yet and is showing a trend of further growth. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    Variables measured
Non-Hispanic Asian Population, Non-Hispanic Asian Population as Percent of Total Population of cities in Tennessee, Non-Hispanic Asian Population as Percent of Total Non-Hispanic Asian Population of Tennessee
    Measurement technique
To measure the rank and respective trends, we initially gathered data from the five most recent American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates. We then analyzed and categorized the data for each of the racial categories identified by the U.S. Census Bureau. Based on the required racial category classification, we calculated the rank. For geographies with no population reported for the chosen race, we did not assign a rank and excluded them from the list. It is possible that a small population exists but was not reported or captured due to limitations or variations in Census data collection and reporting. We ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified racial categories and do not rely on any ethnicity classification, unless explicitly required. For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Maury City population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Maury City across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Maury City was 584, a 0.69% increase year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Maury City population was 580, a decline of 0.51% compared to a population of 583 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Maury City decreased by 147. In this period, the peak population was 735 in the year 2008. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Union City population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Union City across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Union City was 10,954, a 0.20% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Union City population was 10,976, a decline of 0.25% compared to a population of 11,004 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Union City decreased by 14. In this period, the peak population was 11,159 in the year 2020. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).
