This web app contains the data for the traffic counts for the years 2016 through 2022 for the Transportation department in the City of Round Rock, located in Williamson County, Texas. This layer is part of an original dataset provided and maintained by the City of Round Rock GIS/IT Department and the Transportation Department.The data in this layer are represented as points and polygons.The web map connected to this web app can be found on Round Rock Traffic CountsThis time enabled map shows the traffic counts for for traffic zones within the city of Round Rock. The time sliding application within this map allows us to see the traffic counts by AADT each year between 2016 and 2022.

The traffic stations at these locations collect short-term traffic count data to produce Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT). This point layer contains combined traffic counts from mainlanes and frontage roads at one station displayed on the centerline of the roadway for the State of Texas. The data is created and maintained by the Transportation Planning and Programming (TPP) Division’s Traffic section at TxDOT. Traffic counts are collected on an annual basis as a means of measuring the use of public roads in the state. AADTs are calculated using a volume count, axle factor, and seasonal factor. A general overview of the equation is AADT = axles * axle factor * seasonal factor. The data is sourced from the Statewide Traffic Analysis and Reporting System (STARS II).

This spatial data includes 24-hour AADT (Annual Average Daily Traffic) which is collected once every 5 years on roads which are not state maintained, such as county roads and city streets.Data files were previously called “Urban ACR” traffic counts.
