    Description

The Principal Ports dataset is periodically updated by the United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). The ports are defined by port limits or Corps projects. The determination for the published Principal Ports is based upon the total tonnage for the port for the particular year, therefore the top 150 list can vary from year to year. The Principal Port file contains USACE port codes, geographic locations, names, and commodity tonnage summaries (total tons, domestic, foreign, imports and exports) for Principal USACE Ports. Data as of CY 2023. A data dictionary, or other source of attribute information, is accessible at https://doi.org/10.21949/1529073

This dataset presents information about mineral commodity exporting ports relating to the mineral industries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Port data records were originally derived from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's World Port Index, with additional research conducted by the Material Flow Analysis section of the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Minerals Information Center (NMIC) to add specific mineral-related data. These ports represent known exporting ports over a time period of 2010-2016 and relevant data fields include the mineral commodities exported, the form of the exported mineral commodity, the port owner, the estimated annual tonnage, destination countries, as well as sources of mineral products.

    Description

World list of seaports. In its 2021 version, the repository includes 13709 ports for 187 countries. The list of seaports has been drawn up on the basis of the information available in the European reference system of places used in the framework of the Common Fisheries Policy and, more particularly, by the Electronic Recording and Reporting System (ERS), the list of ports identified by the UNECE (2021-1). An assessment of the infrastructures present along the coastline made it possible to identify other ports that were not listed. Each geographical position has been verified with Google Earth in WGS84. Each port is associated with information relating to the country (ISO 3 coding), the UNECE or ERS 5-character coding, the name, the geographical position in WGS84 (latitude and longitude), the status of the port indicating whether it is referenced by Unece (UNECE), by the EU/ERS (ERS) or by both (UNECE/ERS) In case the port is not referenced by UNECE or ERS, the status is N/A. For French ports, the reference system integrates the ports of the French overseas departments and territories with the national codification. Inland ports have also been integrated in 2021.

    Description

Abstract This article presents considerations about the historiography related to the Pereira Passos reforms and the works of the port of Rio de Janeiro. Initially, it presents the studies that focused on the Brazilian port cities from the second half of the nineteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century. In the fundamental argumentation, we criticize the revisionism present in the most recent works on the subject.

Provides access to marine in-situ observation data for the US Pacific Northwest and lower British Columbia, from the NANOOS asset data store harvested and integrated by NVS (NANOOS Visualization System, http://nvs.nanoos.org). To avoid data duplication, currently only assets not otherwise available to the IOOS Catalog (http://catalog.ioos.us) are accessible through this SOS server; for example, assets from most federal agencies are not accessible on this server, but they are available on the NVS application. This NANOOS service is run by the 52North IOOS SOS server software, and complies with the IOOS SOS "Milestone 1" service profile (https://code.google.com/p/ioostech/wiki/SOSGuidelines). This station provides the following variables: H1 redoxpot, H5 turbidity, Fractional saturation of oxygen in sea water, Mass concentration of chlorophyll in sea water, Mass concentration of oxygen in sea water, Sea water ph reported on total scale, Sea water salinity, Sea water temperature
