Parcels of Thurston County, Washington. Thurston County's data set for use in determining issues related to property ownership based on tabular information stored in the ASCEND and SIGMA databases maintained by the Thurston County Assessor's Department.
The fields SEWER_TYPE and WATER_SRC come from a variety of different sources and jurisdictions which the Assessor’s Office has no control of or the ability to audit. The Assessor’s Office appraisers are not experts in determining the exact type of water/sewer system available to a site, and do not make any official determination. These legacy fields are not updated. Local utility providers should be contacted for better information for specific parcels.

TwitterThurston County, WA, US Post Office assigned zip code areas. The purpose of this data is as a general reference only and actual mailing zip codes should be obtained from the US Postal Service. This layer was originally created using USPS TIGER Zip File 2007 tied to 2000 Census Data. It was updated in 2016 using a zip code layer created by TCOMM 911 based off of addressing points. Generally the boundaries between zip code areas have been moved to be coincidental with Thurston County Assessor’s Parcel boundaries. As parcels shift, due to correction, or are changed by subdivision, merge, BLA, etc. the boundaries may become disconnected. Periodically adjustments may be made to realign these boundaries with parcels however there is no regular maintenance plan in place. This layer should be used in conjunction with the Zip Code Points layer which is used to show zip codes associated with US Post Office Box Locations. For example in smaller jurisdictions, like Bucoda, that rely on a post office box rather than rural delivery, the zip code area will reflect the greater rural zip code boundaries and not the localized PO Box zip code. TwitterThis data is a planning level tool for flagging parcels and wetlands and consist of both verified and unverified datasets. All data should be checked with the appropriate subject matter expert and any request for changes or updates sent to the Resource Stewardship Planning Department. Wetland buffers are built by a script that only creates 300 foot buffers of those wetlands that are designated as Wetland = "YES" in the data. Updated County Wetlands Inventory 2017. This layer is a composite of new wetland standards, old wetland (pre-2017) delineations, identified by The Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) staff and the National Wetlands Inventory data. Edits to the data area made using verified wetland reports that have been submitted to and accepted by the Thurston County Resource Stewardship Planning Department. This data was combined with updated wetland delineations, circa 2014, for the Deschutes Watershed Project area (TRPC) and updated with standards provided by the Thurston County Wetlands Working Group. The information from TRPC was created over several years by TRPC, Contractor's, GeoData. All edits and updates are approved by the Thurston County Resource Stewardship Current Planning or Long Range Planning Departments.
