This dataset contains polygons representing travel lane locations located on interstates, ramps, state routes, TDOT maintained state park roads, and locally owned NHS routes in Tennessee. This dataset can be queried by location information, surface type, or width. These records were derived from vehicle mounted LiDAR sensors and digitally captured photos. This information was collected by Mandli Communications, Inc. under the direction of the Asset Management Division and the Long Range Planning Division. Questions on this dataset should be directed to TDOT.Maint.AssetManagement@tn.gov.

This polygon feature class contains rivers or river segments designated as Tennessee Scenic Rivers. The extents represented within do not constitute a survey product and are not legally binding. Limited attributes include river name, class designation, and calculated length where applicable. The data are updated twice per year (January and December) to reflect any changes made to the Act by the Tennessee General Assembly. For more information about Tennessee Scenic Rivers, visit the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Program web pages at https://www.tn.gov/environment/program-areas/na-natural-areas/na-sr-scenic-rivers-list/na-sr-national-and-state-scenic-rivers.htmlThe Tennessee Scenic Rivers Program is intended to preserve and protect the free flowing, unpolluted and outstanding scenic, recreational, geologic, botanical, fish, wildlife, historic or cultural values of selected rivers or river segments in the state. Twenty-one rivers or segments of rivers are included in the state scenic rivers program.Program oversight is provided by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) in cooperation with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). Rivers are managed cooperatively with other state and federal agencies and non-governmental organizations following the standards outlined in the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Act of 1968 (Title 11; Chapter 13) and the Rules for the Management of Tennessee Natural Resource Areas. Tennessee has one river included in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Program which is managed cooperatively with the National Park Service and follows the standards outlined in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (Public Law 90-542; 16 U.S.C. 1271 et seq.).
This feature class contains points representing the locations of Tennessee State Parks. These points are calculated as the centroid of each Tennessee State Park boundary. The locations represented within do not constitute a survey product and are not legally binding. Limited attributes include park name. The data are updated weekly on Wednesdays to reflect the most up-to-date boundary information. For printable and downloadable maps of our Tennessee State Parks, please visit TNStateParks.com.

This dataset contains tabular polyline data showing the log miles, direction one-way or two-way, type of terrain, thru lanes, number of lanes, and speed limit line feature segments of roadway. They were derived from visual surveys by field crew driving along the road. This dataset is updated monthly. CountyRouteSpecial CaseCounty SequenceBeginning Log Mile (BLM)Ending Log Mile (ELM)NUMBER OF LANESSPEED LIMITTERRAIN - (Use in both Urban and Rural Areas) (As defined by HPMS)This item provides information on the type of terrain through which a roadway passes. For all rural sections, enter the code that best characterizes the terrain classification for the inventoried roadway. In coding this item, consider the terrain of an extended length of the roadway upon which the inventory is located rather than the grade on the specific section by itself. The extended roadway section may be several miles long and contain a number of upgrades, downgrades, and level sections; for long sections, such as rural interstates extending between interchanges, the extended roadway section and the section may be the same.1 Flat- Any combination of grades and horizontal or vertical alignment that permits heavy vehicles to maintain the same speed as passenger cars; this generally includes short grades of no more than 1 1/2 percent.2 Rolling- Any combination of grades and horizontal or vertical alignment that causes heavy vehicles to reduce their speeds substantially below those of passenger cars but that does not cause heavy vehicles to operate at crawl speeds for any significant length of time. Grades between 1 ½ - 4 percent3 Mountainous- Any combination of grades and horizontal orVertical alignment that causes heavy vehicles to operate at crawl.Grades greater than 4 percent.
