Literature review dataset
This table lists the surveyed papers concerning the application of spatial analysis, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) as well as general geographic approaches and geostatistics, to the assessment of CoViD-19 dynamics. The period of survey is from January 1st, 2020 to December 15th, 2020. The first column lists the reference. The second lists the date of publication (preferably, the date of online publication). The third column lists the Country or the Countries and/or the subnational entities investigated. The fourth column lists the epidemiological data utilized in each paper. The fifth column lists other types of data utilized for the analysis. The sixth column lists the more traditionally statistically-based methods, if utilized. The seventh column lists the geo-statistical, GIS or geographic methods, if utilized. The eight column sums up the findings of each paper. The papers are also classified within seven thematic categories. The full references are available at the end of the table in alphabetical order.
This table was the basis for the realization of a comprehensive geographic literature review. It aims to be a useful tool to ease the "due-diligence" activity of all the researchers interested in the spatial analysis of the pandemic.

The idea of public geographies, inspired by Burawoy's call for public sociologies, places an emphasis on the co-construction of research data, accessible writing and the use of non-traditional media. As yet, however, the methodological implications of public geographies have not been explored. Hence this project seeks to develop the idea of rescue geography and explore the role of the walking interview as a research tool. Rescue geography takes its inspiration from rescue archaeology, which attempts to recover archaeological data from a site before new development takes place. Contemporary regeneration projects efface existing landscapes, deeming them as 'failed', making no effort to record that which is being destroyed. The physical traces of these urban spaces can be recorded through photography and mapping, but what of the embodied understandings possessed by the community that animated those spaces? Walked interviews may help enhance the quality of data produced by participants through placing them in the spaces being discussed, but this assumption has never been rigorously analysed. A combination of walked and in situ interviews will be employed alongside the use of a Global Positioning System (GPS) to spatially contextualise audio recordings in order to examine the effectiveness of this research technique.

This map service supports the Upper Missouri Headwaters Basin river conditions tool (https://uppermissouriheadwaters.org/UMHW_RiverConditions/index.html). Data creation involved input from watershed coordinators from the Upper Missouri Headwaters Basin and complication from USFWS R6 Science Applications. Leveraging the investment of the USFWS Region 6 Science Applications’ funded project Building Large Scale Drought Resiliency in the Missouri Headwaters Basin, the tool further supports stakeholders in drought management planning by improving access to US Geological Survey, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, and Montana Dept. of Natural Resources Conservation Services (DNRC) river condition data. In collaboration with MT DNRC, this data drives functionality similar to the River Conditions tool on the Big Hole River Conditions web page for eight basins within the Missouri Headwaters Basin. The tool is to be embedded on websites for easy access to real-time stream conditions such as temperature and flow, and river status (e.g., restrictions, closures).

Abstract: In Brazil, the LDB - Law of Guidelines and Bases nº. 9394(Brazil, 1996) and the PCN - National Curricular Parameters, determines that the Geography discipline is recognized as autonomous and should not be understood as a complement to other disciplines. In this way, the improvement in Geography teaching passes through cartographic literacy. The focus is on offering the student the capacity to carry out the appropriation, analysis, reflection and criticism on geographical space. In this way, this paper presents a resource that consisted of the development of the application called MapVoice. The purpose of the software is to enable Blind or visually impaired students, from basic education, in the learning of Cartography in Geography classes. MapVoice provides the understanding and interpretation of physical environments transformed into thematic maps based on data from the 2010 Brazilian Demographic Census executed by IBGE. The software used sound and image resources developed for Windows environment. The research concludes that it is necessary to prepare the infrastructure of the schools for the reception of these students, but mainly the continuing training of teachers and teaching assistants. Mapvoice was tested at the Institute of the Blind for validation, achieving a satisfactory result and making enthusiasm for the development of new researches.
