Facebook
TwitterIn this 2018 survey, eight percent of respondents stated they think the biggest problem for the United States today is Donald Trump. In fact, most of the important problems mentioned are somehow related to the current POTUS – the most mentioned one being immigration and racism.
A country divided
Since Trump’s inauguration in January 2017, political camps in the United States are deeply divided and global politics is in turmoil; Trump’s job approval ratings are notoriously low, and in fact, they are lower than Reagan’s or Nixon’s averages ever were. Trump’s leadership is controversial at best and his executive orders often cause protests, especially among Democrats and liberals – like the travel ban for Muslims.
On the other side
One of Trump’s main campaign promises was a wall on the border with Mexico in order to keep potential illegal immigrants out and enhance security for American citizens. When he did not get the majority for this plan, he declared a national emergency to force the budget to be allocated, even though the majority of Americans did not support this idea, and it is unclear if the situation at the Mexican border actually warrants it. In fact, the total number of unauthorized immigrants has decreased over the last few years and today, many Americans believe that their country benefits from immigrants and their work .

TwitterAccording to the data from 2025, some 16 percent of respondents said that rising health care costs were the most important health issue facing the United States. Cancer ranked second on the list with 15 percent. Issues with healthcare costsCurrently, the most urgent problem facing American healthcare is the high costs of care. The high expense of healthcare may deter people from getting the appropriate treatment when they need medical care or cause them to completely forego preventative care visits. Many Americans reported that they may skip prescription doses or refrain from taking medication as prescribed due to financial concerns. Such health-related behavior can result in major health problems, which may raise the long-term cost of care. Inflation, medical debt, and unforeseen medical expenses have all added to the burden that health costs are placing on household income. Gun violence issueThe gun violence epidemic has plagued the United States over the past few years, yet very little has been done to address the issue. In recent years, gun violence has become the leading cause of death among American children and teens. Even though more than half of Americans are in favor of tougher gun control regulations, there is little political will to strongly reform the current gun law. Gun violence has a deep traumatic impact on survivors and society, it is developing into a major public health crisis in the United States.

TwitterThis study was undertaken to enable cross-community analysis of gang trends in all areas of the United States. It was also designed to provide a comparative analysis of social, economic, and demographic differences among non-metropolitan jurisdictions in which gangs were reported to have been persistent problems, those in which gangs had been more transitory, and those that reported no gang problems. Data were collected from four separate sources and then merged into a single dataset using the county Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) code as the attribute of common identification. The data sources included: (1) local police agency responses to three waves (1996, 1997, and 1998) of the National Youth Gang Survey (NYGS), (2) rural-urban classification and county-level measures of primary economic activity from the Economic Research Service (ERS) of the United States Department of Agriculture, (3) county-level economic and demographic data from the County and City Data Book, 1994, and from USA Counties, 1998, produced by the United States Department of Commerce, and (4) county-level data on access to interstate highways provided by Tom Ricketts and Randy Randolph of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Variables include the FIPS codes for state, county, county subdivision, and sub-county, population in the agency jurisdiction, type of jurisdiction, and whether the county was dependent on farming, mining, manufacturing, or government. Other variables categorizing counties include retirement destination, federal lands, commuting, persistent poverty, and transfer payments. The year gang problems began in that jurisdiction, number of youth groups, number of active gangs, number of active gang members, percent of gang members who migrated, and the number of gangs in 1996, 1997, and 1998 are also available. Rounding out the variables are unemployment rates, median household income, percent of persons in county below poverty level, percent of family households that were one-parent households, percent of housing units in the county that were vacant, had no telephone, or were renter-occupied, resident population of the county in 1990 and 1997, change in unemployment rates, land area of county, percent of persons in the county speaking Spanish at home, and whether an interstate highway intersected the county.

Latin American cities face many problems that compromise them from different angles such as lack of infrastructure, government fragmentation, and environmental degradation. At the same time, each city tries to come up with its own solutions, but there are so many difficulties that in many cases it is difficult to keep attention and efforts focused on all these directions. For these reasons, this research aims to define some of the most common problems faced by cities in Latin America. Disseminating these similarities could help to face those problems, since, if local governments recognize that they face the same situations as their neighbors, they could organize themselves to study them and find solutions. To achieve these objectives, this research reviewed the diagnoses made by hundreds of Best Practice proposals collected in the libraries of UN Habitat and the Dubai International Award for Best Practices. Based on these results, this research built a proposal for the contest "Participatory Projects in Public Space Contest" organized in commemoration of the 450 years of Caracas. This proposal served as a case study where some of these cross-cutting problems in the region were explored. At the same time, the contest served as a framework to make these results public and promote discussion on some of these important issues. Finally, this research links different stages and synthesizes some important efforts that are intended to serve as a reference framework to better understand serious and everyday problems that are manifested in Latin American cities.

According to our latest research, the Bustier Bikini Top market size was valued at $1.2 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $2.3 billion by 2033, expanding at a CAGR of 7.1% during the forecast period of 2024–2033. The primary driver fueling the global bustier bikini top market growth is the increasing consumer inclination toward fashionable swimwear that merges comfort with style, particularly among younger demographics and social media influencers. As fashion trends continue to evolve, bustier bikini tops have emerged as a preferred choice due to their versatile design, enhanced support, and adaptability across various occasions, from beachwear to resort and poolside events. Additionally, the proliferation of e-commerce platforms and social media marketing has significantly accelerated product visibility and consumer reach, further propelling market expansion worldwide.
North America currently holds the largest share of the global bustier bikini top market, accounting for approximately 35% of total revenue in 2024. This dominance is attributed to the region’s mature swimwear industry, robust consumer spending power, and the presence of leading fashion brands and retailers. The United States, in particular, has witnessed a surge in demand for premium and designer bustier bikini tops, driven by a strong beach culture, frequent resort vacations, and a growing emphasis on body positivity and self-expression. Additionally, favorable trade policies and a well-established distribution network have enabled seamless product accessibility, contributing to sustained market growth in North America. The region’s inclination toward innovative fabrics, sustainable materials, and celebrity-endorsed collections further cements its leadership position in the global landscape.
The Asia Pacific region is the fastest-growing market for bustier bikini tops, expected to register a CAGR of 9.2% during 2024–2033. This rapid expansion is underpinned by rising disposable incomes, increasing urbanization, and a burgeoning youth population with a keen interest in global fashion trends. Countries such as China, Japan, Australia, and South Korea are witnessing a notable uptick in swimwear adoption, fueled by the proliferation of social media platforms and the influence of Western lifestyle choices. Strategic investments by international swimwear brands in localizing product lines and expanding retail footprints have further accelerated market penetration. The growth is also supported by government initiatives to promote domestic textile industries and enhance tourism infrastructure, which collectively create a conducive environment for the swimwear and beachwear segments to thrive.
Emerging economies in Latin America and the Middle East & Africa are gradually becoming significant contributors to the global bustier bikini top market, although they face unique adoption challenges. In Latin America, countries like Brazil and Mexico benefit from extensive coastlines and a vibrant beach culture, but economic volatility and fluctuating consumer confidence can restrain market growth. Meanwhile, in the Middle East & Africa, cultural norms and modesty considerations often limit the widespread adoption of bikini tops; however, the rise of luxury resorts, tourism, and targeted marketing strategies are slowly opening up new avenues. Localized demand patterns, coupled with evolving regulatory frameworks and a growing acceptance of Western fashion, are expected to drive incremental growth in these regions over the forecast period.

Overview
Deputy Top Appointed Executives (e.g. Deputy and City and County Managers) are more accessible than Top Appointed Executives, have important projects delegated to them, and are trusted, high-level gatekeepers.
Responsibilities
To qualify as the Deputy Top Appointed Executive the person must perform one or more of the following primary responsibilities: Advise and support the Top Appointed Executive, and other department heads, in the day-to-day running of governmental operations. Develop plans, programs and projects that improve city/county/township administration. Additional activities may include budget planning, the oversight of economic development projects, and the development of policies and procedures. Monitor the work performed by all departments on behalf of the Top Appointed Executive. Though the Deputy Top Appointed Executive may supervise specific functions, it is unlikely that the Deputy Top Appointed Executive will function as the head of any one department. Represent the Top Appointed Executive in his/her absence on committee, board, council and outside agency meetings. Respond to resident concerns on behalf of the Top Appointed Executive.
Reporting Structure and Occurrence
The Deputy Top Appointed Executive reports to the Top Appointed Executive. Therefore, a government will not have a Deputy Top Appointed Executive without having a Top Appointed Executive. The role sits within the office of the Top Appointed Executive. There may be more than one Deputy Top Appointed Executive. In that case they are likely assigned to different focus areas.
