    Description

As of the first half of fiscal year 2022/2023, the government revenues in Egypt were at roughly 686.8 billion Egyptian pounds (which is comparable to 22.23 billion U.S. dollars). Furthermore, the fiscal revenues amounted to close to1,326 billion U.S. dollars (42.92 billion U.S. dollars). This was higher than the value for FY2020/2021, which amounted to around 1,109 billion Egyptian pounds (35.9 billion U.S. dollars). From 2016/2017 onwards, the revenues generated by the government has been following a positive trend. With taxes being the largest share of government revenue, the Egyptian Ministry of Finance plansto broaden its value-added tax (VAT) base from 70 thousand to 550 thousand enterprises. This move plans to combat the shadow economy and improve financial inclusion. Furthermore, the government expenditure exceeded the revenues generated throughout the period under review, which led to a fiscal deficit.

The data presented in this dataset is derived from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2010-2022 5-Year Estimates. To portray the income for both the genders (Male and Female), we conducted an initial analysis and categorization of the data. Subsequently, we adjusted these figures for inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series via current methods (R-CPI-U-RS). Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset presents median income data over a decade or more for males and females categorized by Total, Full-Time Year-Round (FT), and Part-Time (PT) employment in Egypt. It showcases annual income, providing insights into gender-specific income distributions and the disparities between full-time and part-time work. The dataset can be utilized to gain insights into gender-based pay disparity trends and explore the variations in income for male and female individuals.

    Key observations: Insights from 2021

Based on our analysis ACS 2017-2021 5-Year Estimates, we present the following observations: - All workers, aged 15 years and older: In Egypt, the median income for all workers aged 15 years and older, regardless of work hours, was $28,374 for males and $15,763 for females.

These income figures highlight a substantial gender-based income gap in Egypt. Women, regardless of work hours, earn 56 cents for each dollar earned by men. This significant gender pay gap, approximately 44%, underscores concerning gender-based income inequality in the town of Egypt.

    - Full-time workers, aged 15 years and older: In Egypt, among full-time, year-round workers aged 15 years and older, males earned a median income of $31,076, while females earned $32,090

Surprisingly, within the subset of full-time workers, women earn a higher income than men, earning 1.03 dollars for every dollar earned by men. This suggests that within full-time roles, womens median incomes significantly surpass mens, contrary to broader workforce trends.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset presents a breakdown of households across various income brackets in Egypt, AR, as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau. The Census Bureau classifies households into different categories, including total households, family households, and non-family households. Our analysis of U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey data for Egypt, AR reveals how household income distribution varies among these categories. The dataset highlights the variation in number of households with income, offering valuable insights into the distribution of Egypt households based on income levels.

    Key observations

    • For Family Households: In Egypt, the majority of family households, representing NA%, earn NA, showcasing a substantial share of the community families falling within this income bracket. Conversely, the minority of family households, comprising NA%, have incomes falling NA, representing a smaller but still significant segment of the community.
    • For Non-Family Households: In Egypt, the majority of non-family households, accounting for NA%, have income NA, indicating that a substantial portion of non-family households falls within this income bracket. On the other hand, the minority of non-family households, comprising NA%, earn NA, representing a smaller, yet notable, portion of non-family households in the community.

    Measurement technique
The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To portray the median household income within each racial category idetified by the US Census Bureau, we conducted an initial analysis and categorization of the data. Subsequently, we adjusted these figures for inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series via current methods (R-CPI-U-RS). It is important to note that the median household income estimates exclusively represent the identified racial categories and do not incorporate any ethnicity classifications. Households are categorized, and median incomes are reported based on the self-identified race of the head of the household.
