In March of 2021, adults in the United States expressed uncertainty toward traveling abroad once the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was under control. Of the respondents surveyed, ** percent stated that they were not excited at all to travel abroad again.

Since the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 started in France, the vaccination intention of French people increased. Furthermore, a majority of the French population appeared as favorable for a mandatory vaccination against the coronavirus (Covid-19) to fly or travel abroad in January 2021. This 62 percent of French people could be motivated by the willingness to travel freely and safely again. The covid-19 pandemic indeed led governments to constrain their population not traveling to stop the virus spread.

From October 2021 to May 2022, the share of adults in the United States who traveled internationally fluctuated. In May 2022, approximately ** percent of adults in the U.S. stated that they had traveled internationally in the past month. Meanwhile, in April, that figure was **** percent.

Catching the COVID-19 virus served as the predominant concern preventing people form traveling abroad. In 2021, ** percent of respondents confirmed that the virus was the main worry discouraging them from international travel. In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, adults in Great Britain were surveyed on how clear they found the rules around traveling abroad as of *********. The majority of respondents, ** percent, stated that they found the rules to be fairly clear. Meanwhile, ** percent of respondents stated that they found the rules to be very clear and ** percent of respondents stated that they found the rules to not be clear at all.

The Travel Survey (Travel and Holiday Survey until 2021) is a continuation of the Omnibus Survey conducted by Statistics Norway in the years 1992-2004. The Travel Survey is conducted four times a year, once every quarter. The main purpose of the survey is to map out the travel habits of Norwegians in Norway and abroad. In addition to data on Norwegians' travel habits, data is also collected on cross-border trade, attitudes towards aid, cultural monuments and cultural environments, use of tobacco and alcohol, wood burning, influenza vaccine, and attitudes towards immigration. Some topics are included every quarter, while others are included only once or twice a year.

For each quarter of 2021, a sample of 2,000 people aged 16 to 79 was drawn. In the 4th quarter, an additional sample of 1 000 people was also drawn, who only received questions about tobacco and alcohol. This is the travel file for the 4th quarter of the 2021 Travel Survey.
