Several other ethnic groups were also at an increased risk from Coronavirus than the white population, with men of Bangladeshi or Pakistani origin 3.6 times more likely, and women 3.4 more likely to die from Coronavirus.

TwitterAs of January 31, 2022, COVID-19 was the underlying cause for the deaths of 4,251 people in Scotland between 80 and 89 years of age. In that age group, there were 2,172 male deaths and 2,079 female deaths. A further 2,131 deaths involving COVID-19 were recorded among over 90 year olds. In England, the age group 80 to 89 years also had the highest number of deaths involving COVID-19. In that age group, there were 771 male deaths and 677 female deaths. A further 886 deaths involving COVID-19 were recorded among 70 to 79 year olds. In England, the age group 80 to 89 years also had the highest number of deaths involving COVID-19, the case was also the same in Scotland. Why did I create this dataset? This is my first time creating a notebook in Kaggle and I am interested in learning more about COVID-19 and how different countries are affected by it and why. It might be useful to compare different metrics between different countries. And I also wanted to participate in a challenge, and I've decided to join the COVID-19 datasets challenge. While looking through the projects, I noticed https://www.kaggle.com/koryto/countryinfo and it inspired me to start this project.
My approach is to scour the Internet and Kaggle looking for country data that can potentially have an impact on how the COVID-19 pandemic spreads. In the end, I ended up with the following for each country:

Furthermore, 3,127 deaths involving COVID-19 were recorded overall among 74 to 84 year olds. In England, the age group 80 to 89 years had the highest number of deaths involving COVID-19. This systematic review aimed to provide an overview of the clinical profile and outcome of COVID-19 infection in patients with hemoglobinopathy. The rate of COVID-19 mortality and its predictors were also identified. A systematic search was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines in five electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, WHO COVID-19 database) for articles published between 1st December 2019 to 31st October 2020. All articles with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases with underlying hemoglobinopathy were included. Methodological quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal checklists. Thirty-one articles with data on 246 patients with hemoglobinopathy were included in this review. In general, clinical manifestations of COVID-19 infection among patients with hemoglobinopathy were similar to the general population. Vaso-occlusive crisis occurred in 55.6% of sickle cell disease patients with COVID-19 infection. Mortality from COVID-19 infection among patients with hemoglobinopathy was 6.9%. After adjusting for age, gender, types of hemoglobinopathy and oxygen supplementation, respiratory (adj OR = 89.63, 95% CI 2.514–3195.537, p = 0.014) and cardiovascular (adj OR = 35.20, 95% CI 1.291–959.526, p = 0.035) comorbidities were significant predictors of mortality. Patients with hemoglobinopathy had a higher mortality rate from COVID-19 infection compared to the general population. Those with coexisting cardiovascular or respiratory comorbidities require closer monitoring during the course of illness. More data are needed to allow a better understanding on the clinical impact of COVID-19 infections among patients with hemoglobinopathy.Clinical Trial Registration:https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php?ID=CRD42020218200.

Life expectancy since the 18th Century Although there has been a recent dip in life expectancy in the UK, long-term improvements to life expectancy stretch back several centuries. In 1765, life expectancy was below 39 years, and only surpassed 40 years in the 1810s, 50 years by the 1910s, 60 years by the 1930s and 70 by the 1960s. While life expectancy has broadly improved since the 1700s, this trajectory was interrupted at various points due to wars and diseases. In the early 1920s, for example, life expectancy suffered a noticeable setback in the aftermath of the First World War and Spanish Flu Epidemic. Impact of COVID-19 While improvements to UK life expectancy stalled during the 2010s, it wasn't until the 2020s that it began to decline. The impact of COVID-19 was one of the primary factors in this respect, with 2020 seeing the most deaths in the UK since 1918. The first wave of the pandemic in Spring of that year was a particularly deadly time, with weekly death figures far higher than usual. A second wave that winter saw a peak of almost 5,700 excess deaths a week in late January 2021, with excess deaths remaining elevated for several years afterward.

Data for this publication are extracted each month as a snapshot in time from the GP Payments system (Open Exeter) maintained by NHS Digital. This release is an accurate snapshot as at 1 May 2020. GP Practice; Primary Care Network (PCN); Sustainability and transformation partnership (STP); Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS England Commissioning Region level data are released in single year of age (SYOA) and 5-year age bands, both of which finish at 95+, split by gender. In addition, organisational mapping data is available to derive STP; PCN; CCG and Commissioning Region associated with a GP practice and is updated each month to give relevant organisational mapping. Quarterly publications in January, April, July and October will include Lower Layer Super Output Area (LSOA) populations and a spotlight report. The outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has led to changes in the work of General Practices and subsequently the data within this publication. This data is extracted from an administrative source, GP Payments system (Open Exeter) therefore data collection process has not been affected. GP practice list sizes change due to births, deaths, immigration, emigration and administration of GP list sizes to remove duplicate patients. The decrease in registered patients seen this period is likely due to an increase in deaths, a decrease in immigration, and potentially increased list cleansing activities brought about by additional activities to contact vulnerable patients. Throughout April 2020, there was less activity surrounding registrations in primary care however there are still new registrations although the overall number shows a decrease. *On the 19th May 2020, the file Single year of age (Commissioning Regions-STPs-CCGs-PCNs) was replaced due to issues with PCN geography codes

The rate of among males was 17.4 per 100,000 population and among females it was 5.7 per 100,000. Recent years have seen an increase again for both genders, however, the rate of suicide for men has remained significantly higher than for women. Individuals seeking help for mental health issuesIn Great Britain, almost 70 percent have never visited a mental health professional, while eighteen percent consult with one at least once a year. Additionally, almost 60 percent of those with a psychiatric condition do not take any medication to control their condition. Mental health of young peopleThe COVID-19 pandemic had a huge impact of the mental health of many people, particularly young people. The share of all adults reporting to having experienced symptoms of depression doubled during the pandemic compared to before. Although for those in the age group 16 to 39 years, depression prevalence tripled. Among young people that had mental health concerns prior to the pandemic, a significant majority of those surveyed reported that their life had become worse due to the impact of the pandemic and subsequent restrictions.
