    Description

The list of releases of organograms via data.gov.uk's organogram system. These are also listed in datasets like https://data.gov.uk/dataset/organogram-cabinet-office but it's helpful to have this aggregated list of organogram releases here in one CSV file. NB a few organograms have been released in other ways, such as PDFs from 2010/11, some lingering RDFs 2010-2016 and the occasional CSV 2010-2016 that didn't go through the data.gov.uk system. Many of those are listed in data.gov.uk datasets alongside the ones that have gone through the system (and a few are just on https://www.gov.uk/government/publications ). So this is not complete, but not far off. NB this dataset doesn't contain the actual organogram data - it is just a list of the releases and the URLs to get the data. This is helpful to understand how well government bodies are meeting their commitments. listed at https://data.gov.uk/apps This is exported from data.gov.uk's database. It is refreshed nightly. The fields should be relatively self-explanatory when comparing the data with data.gov.uk organogram datasets: https://data.gov.uk/data/search?collection=Organogram

    Description

    Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS)

The UK is the first G7 country to commit to the Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS) for contracts administered by a central purchasing authority, the Crown Commercial Service (CCS). This means that the whole process of awarding public sector contracts will be visible to the public for the first time.

Open contracting means all data and documents are disclosed at all stages of the contracting process. This supports organisations to increase contracting transparency, and allows deeper analysis of contracting data by a wide range of users.

Working with the Open Contracting Partnership we have published our review of the UK Showcase and Learning project in the form of a Measurement, Evaluation and Learning Framework. This sets out the impact of our implementation from a baseline date of May 2016 to November 2017 (unless otherwise specified). An earlier digest of our progress is available online.

OCDS outputs are available for both Find a Tender and Contracts Finder.

    Find a Tender

You can download https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/">Find a Tender notices in OCDS JSON format using our application programming interface (API). Notice fields are mapped to OCDS version 1.1.5 with extensions as defined by the https://standard.open-contracting.org/profiles/eu/master/en/">Open Contracting Partnership.

    OCDS release package API

    Identifiers

    • Release IDs are unique within a procurement process (ocid)
    • Party (buyer or supplier) IDs are unique within a release

    XML downloads

The same notice data is also available to download from the data.gov.uk website or using their API. Daily Zip files contain an XML file for each notice published on that day.

    Contracts Finder

You can download https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/">Contracts Finder notices in OCDS JSON format using our API.

We have published a https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/719834/Input-Output_Field_Mapping_Contracts_Finder_OCDS_3_.xlsx">mapping document that shows how each field in each notice type maps to the corresponding field in OCDS.

Our Contracts Finder output is based v1.0 of the OCDS standard, with some enhancements from on v1.1. We plan to update to be fully compliant with v1.1 in the future.

    Description

On 1 April 2025 responsibility for fire and rescue transferred from the Home Office to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

This information covers fires, false alarms and other incidents attended by fire crews, and the statistics include the numbers of incidents, fires, fatalities and casualties as well as information on response times to fires. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) also collect information on the workforce, fire prevention work, health and safety and firefighter pensions. All data tables on fire statistics are below.

MHCLG has responsibility for fire services in England. The vast majority of data tables produced by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government are for England but some (0101, 0103, 0201, 0501, 1401) tables are for Great Britain split by nation. In the past the Department for Communities and Local Government (who previously had responsibility for fire services in England) produced data tables for Great Britain and at times the UK. Similar information for devolved administrations are available at https://www.firescotland.gov.uk/about/statistics/">Scotland: Fire and Rescue Statistics, https://statswales.gov.wales/Catalogue/Community-Safety-and-Social-Inclusion/Community-Safety">Wales: Community safety and https://www.nifrs.org/home/about-us/publications/">Northern Ireland: Fire and Rescue Statistics.

    Description

List of mines and quarries in the UK including information about operational status, products, lithostratigraphy, chronostratigraphy, pit and operator addresses, minerals planning authority. Digital data has been sold from the BritPits database, since 1994, this has been customised to suit purchasers. Use is also made of sets of operational workings data by Bureau Services who pay royalties and get updates. Older data on operators tends to be incomplete as it was not recorded. Updating is ongoing to update litho- and chronostrat data. Originally, only details of currently active sites were included in the database but, because of the importance of former workings for waste disposal and as Sites of Special Scientific Interest, information is now collected on both inactive and closed operations. The data is held in a relational database using an Oracle server and a Microsoft Access front-end. The database can be used for many purposes: mailing lists, route planning, market intelligence/analysis, and resource planning, and data has been supplied to a wide range of customers.

    Description

Important information: detailed data on crimes recorded by the police from April 2002 onwards are published in the police recorded crime open data tables. As such, from July 2016 data on crimes recorded by the police from April 2002 onwards are no longer published on this webpage. This is because the data is available in the police recorded crime open data tables which provide a more detailed breakdown of crime figures by police force area, offence code and financial year quarter. Data for Community Safety Partnerships are also available.

The open data tables are updated every three months to incorporate any changes such as reclassifications or crimes being cancelled or transferred to another police force, which means that they are more up-to-date than the tables published on this webpage which are updated once per year. Additionally, the open data tables are in a format designed to be user-friendly and enable analysis.

If you have any concerns about the way these data are presented please contact us by emailing CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk. Alternatively, please write to

    Description

Data files containing detailed information about vehicles in the UK are also available, including make and model data.

Some tables have been withdrawn and replaced. The table index for this statistical series has been updated to provide a full map between the old and new numbering systems used in this page.

The Department for Transport is committed to continuously improving the quality and transparency of our outputs, in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics. In line with this, we have recently concluded a planned review of the processes and methodologies used in the production of Vehicle licensing statistics data. The review sought to seek out and introduce further improvements and efficiencies in the coding technologies we use to produce our data and as part of that, we have identified several historical errors across the published data tables affecting different historical periods. These errors are the result of mistakes in past production processes that we have now identified, corrected and taken steps to eliminate going forward.

Most of the revisions to our published figures are small, typically changing values by less than 1% to 3%. The key revisions are:

    Licensed Vehicles (2014 Q3 to 2016 Q3)

We found that some unlicensed vehicles during this period were mistakenly counted as licensed. This caused a slight overstatement, about 0.54% on average, in the number of licensed vehicles during this period.

3.5 - 4.25 tonnes Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) Classification

Since 2023, ZEVs weighing between 3.5 and 4.25 tonnes have been classified as light goods vehicles (LGVs) instead of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). We have now applied this change to earlier data and corrected an error in table VEH0150. As a result, the number of newly registered HGVs has been reduced by:

    • 3.1% in 2024

    • 2.3% in 2023

    • 1.4% in 2022

    Table VEH0156 (2018 to 2023)

Table VEH0156, which reports average CO₂ emissions for newly registered vehicles, has been updated for the years 2018 to 2023. Most changes are minor (under 3%), but the e-NEDC measure saw a larger correction, up to 15.8%, due to a calculation error. Other measures (WLTP and Reported) were less notable, except for April 2020 when COVID-19 led to very few new registrations which led to greater volatility in the resultant percentages.

Neither these specific revisions, nor any of the others introduced, have had a material impact on the statistics overall, the direction of trends nor the key messages that they previously conveyed.

Specific details of each revision made has been included in the relevant data table notes to ensure transparency and clarity. Users are advised to review these notes as part of their regular use of the data to ensure their analysis accounts for these changes accordingly.

If you have questions regarding any of these changes, please contact the Vehicle statistics team.

    Description

The UK daily temperature data contain maximum and minimum temperatures (air, grass and concrete slab) measured over a period of up to 24 hours. The measurements were recorded by observation stations operated by the Met Office across the UK and transmitted within NCM, DLY3208 or AWSDLY messages. The data span from 1853 to 2020. For details on measurement techniques, including calibration information and changes in measurements, see section 5.2 of the MIDAS User Guide linked to from this record. Soil temperature data may be found in the UK soil temperature datasets linked from this record. This version supersedes the previous version of this dataset and a change log is available in the archive, and in the linked documentation for this record, detailing the differences between this version and the previous version. The change logs detail new, replaced and removed data. Of particular note, however, is that as well as including data for 2020, historical data recovery has added further data for Eskdalemuir (1915-1948) and Eastbourne (1887-1910). This dataset is part of the Midas-open dataset collection made available by the Met Office under the UK Open Government Licence, containing only UK mainland land surface observations owned or operated by the Met Office. It is a subset of the fuller, restricted Met Office Integrated Data Archive System (MIDAS) Land and Marine Surface Stations dataset, also available through the Centre for Environmental Data Analysis - see the related dataset section on this record. Currently this represents approximately 95% of available daily temperature observations within the full MIDAS collection.
