Each month we publish independent forecasts of key economic and fiscal indicators for the UK economy. Forecasts before 2010 are hosted by The National Archives.
We began publishing comparisons of independent forecasts in 1986. The first database brings together selected variables from those publications, averaged across forecasters. It includes series for Gross Domestic Product, the Consumer Prices Index, the Retail Prices Index, the Retail Prices Index excluding mortgage interest payments, Public Sector Net Borrowing and the Claimant Count. Our second database contains time series of independent forecasts for GDP growth, private consumption, government consumption, fixed investment, domestic demand and net trade, for 26 forecasters with at least 10 years’ worth of submissions since 2010.
We’d welcome feedback on how you find the database and any extra information that you’d like to see included. Email your comments to Carter.Adams@hmtreasury.gov.uk.

Search all UK quasi-autonomous non-governmental organizations by department, budget, and function. Interactive database with historical data from 1900-2025.
This project explored the development of policy and practice for local energy systems (LES) across England, Scotland and Wales. It aimed to provide evidence, and learning, about the role of more locally integrated energy systems, and the policy approaches being pursued in Great Britain.
The research analysed policy mixes for local energy systems and developed a database of relevant government policies from 2010 to 2021 (deposited here). These policies were identified based on systematic analysis of published government energy strategies, alongside strategies specifically concerned with ‘local’, ‘community’ or ‘area-based’ energy. This resulted in detailed analysis of over 50 policy documents and identification of 105 policy instruments across the three jurisdictions. Documentation was retrieved primarily from Scottish, Welsh and UK Government websites. Details about individual instruments were then collated using government sources (for example, evaluation reports), or websites of managing organisations. If financial information about an instrument was obscure, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests were submitted to establish additional detail, but financial information for some instruments remained unclear. The authors each cross-checked the instrument database drawing on their expertise in Scottish, Welsh and UK Government energy policy.
The instrument database was also verified through review by two external policy experts.

The third quarterly data for the financial year 2023-24. This dataset, in addition to the previous OSCAR and COINS releases, makes public spending data more accessible.
OSCAR II is a cross-government project to replace the first OSCAR and Combined Online Information System (COINS) public spending databases. It provides us with key management information and data for public reporting.
The Combined Online Information System (COINS) is a database about UK Government expenditure, collecting financial data from across the public sector, but not down to transaction level. COINS was replaced by OSCAR in 2013 - see OSCAR data here: http://data.gov.uk/dataset/oscar The Treasury used COINS to produce expenditure data in the Budget report; Supply Estimates; Public Expenditure Statistical Analyses (PESA); Whole of Government Accounts (WGA); the monthly Public Sector Finance Releases. It was also used by the ONS for other National Statistics releases. At the release of the COINS raw data in June 2010, the government committed to publishing additional datasets utilising the COINS raw data. In August 2010 we published the first of these datasets showing in year time series data. The in-year dataset is updated quarterly and will be published in the links below. The aim of these data releases is to make key parts of the COINS data accessible, manageable and comprehensible to the wider public, whilst maintaining a low level of aggregation. Datasets for the time series and for the outturn to budget comparison can assist in interpreting the COINS raw data. At the same time users will be able to drill down behind previously released high level aggregates. More information regarding the COINS releases can be found at: http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20130502090704/http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/psr_coins_data.htm

The Great Britain Historical Database has been assembled as part of the ongoing Great Britain Historical GIS Project. The project aims to trace the emergence of the north-south divide in Britain and to provide a synoptic view of the human geography of Britain at sub-county scales. Further information about the project is available on A Vision of Britain webpages, where users can browse the database's documentation system online.
The Great Britain Historical GIS Project has also produced digitised boundary data, which can be obtained from the UK Data Service Census Support service. Further information is available at census.ukdataservice.ac.uk
The Great Britain Historical Database is a large database of British nineteenth and twentieth-century statistics. Where practical the referencing of spatial units has been integrated, data for different dates have been assembled into single tables.
