This statistic illustrates the total annual number of housing completions in the previous twelve months by all tenures in England from the second quarter of 2014 to the fourth quarter of 2019. In 2022, there were far more housing units completed in England than in all of the rest of the United Kingdom. After a drop in housing completions in 2020, coinciding with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of dwellings finished have been increasing every year. Most of those housing units were completed by private enterprises.

In the first quarter of 2025, there were ****** housing units completed in England. The number of home constructions finished has fluctuated significantly during the past decades. Due to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of homes completed throughout the second quarter reached the lowest value in this timeline at less than ****** units.
