    Details

    https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000/36/contents">The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI Act) and the associated https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2004/3391/contents">Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIRs) came fully into force on 1 January 2005.

    This bulletin presents statistics on their implementation within the central government monitored bodies for the quarterly period of October to December 2023.

    Statistics standards and policies

    These statistics have been independently reviewed by the https://osr.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/what-we-do/">Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR). They comply with the standards of trustworthiness, quality and value in the https://code.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/the-code/">Code of Practice for Statistics. Accredited official statistics are called National Statistics in the https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2007/18/contents">Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007.

    Accreditation signifies their compliance with the authority’s https://code.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/the-code/">Code of Practice for Statistics which broadly means these statistics are:

    • managed impartially and objectively in the public interest
    • meet identified user needs
    • produced according to sound methods
    • well explained and readily accessible

    Our statistical practice is regulated by the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR).

    OSR sets the standards of trustworthiness, quality and value in the https://code.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/the-code/">Code of Practice for Statistics that all producers of official statistics should adhere to.

    These statistics were independently reviewed by the OSR in June 2017.     This is an Experimental Official Statistics publication produced by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) using HMRC’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme claims data.

    This publication covers all Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme claims submitted by employers from the start of the scheme up to 30 September 2021. It includes statistics on the claims themselves and the jobs supported.

    Data from HMRC’s Real Time Information (RTI) system has been matched with Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme data to produce analysis of claims by:

    • daily number of employments on furlough
    • employer size
    • sector of the economy
    • geography
    • age and gender
    • use of flexible furlough
    • estimated annual pay
    • how long jobs have been on furlough continuously

This latest release presents rolling estimates incorporating data from the first quarter of year 9 of the survey.

    As detailed in the last statistical release and on our consultation pages in March 2013, the responsibility for reporting Official Statistics on adult sport participation now falls entirely with Sport England. Sport participation data are reported on by Sport England in the Active People Survey.

    The latest data from the 2013/14 Taking Part survey provides reliable national estimates of adult engagement with archives, arts, heritage, libraries, and museums and galleries. This release builds on the data previously published from quarters 2, 3 and 4 in 2012 to 2013 to look at a number of areas in depth and present measures that begin to consider broader definitions of participation in our sectors.

    The report also looks at some of the other measures in the survey that provide estimates of volunteering and charitable giving and civic engagement.

    The Taking Part survey is a continuous annual survey of adults and children living in private households in England, and carries the National Statistics badge, meaning that it meets the highest standards of statistical quality.

    The Taking Part survey has run since 2005 and is the key evidence source for DCMS. It is a continuous face to face household survey of adults aged 16 and over in England and children aged 5 to 15 years old. This latest release presents child data from April 2014 to March 2015.

    This release builds on the data from previous years and data from quarter 3 and 4 releases of data from 2011 to 2012 and quarter 1 and 2 from 2012 to 2013 to look at a number of areas in depth and present measures that begin to consider broader definitions of participation in our sectors.

    The report also looks at some of the other measures in the survey that provide estimates of volunteering, charitable giving and civic engagement.

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000/36/contents">The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI Act) and the associated https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2004/3391/contents">Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIRs) came fully into force on 1 January 2005.

This bulletin presents statistics on their implementation within the central government monitored bodies for the quarterly period of October to December 2023.

Statistics standards and policies

These statistics have been independently reviewed by the https://osr.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/what-we-do/">Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR). They comply with the standards of trustworthiness, quality and value in the https://code.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/the-code/">Code of Practice for Statistics. Accredited official statistics are called National Statistics in the https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2007/18/contents">Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007.

Accreditation signifies their compliance with the authority’s https://code.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/the-code/">Code of Practice for Statistics which broadly means these statistics are:

  • managed impartially and objectively in the public interest
  • meet identified user needs
  • produced according to sound methods
  • well explained and readily accessible

Our statistical practice is regulated by the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR).
