    Description

The Office of Policy and Management (OPM) prepares the Public Investment Community (PIC) index not later than July 15 annually, pursuant to §7-545 of the Connecticut General Statutes (CGS). The PIC index measures the relative wealth and need of Connecticut’s towns by ranking them in descending order by their cumulative point allocations for: (1) per capita income; (2) adjusted equalized net grand list per capita; (3) equalized mill rate; (4) per capita aid to children receiving Temporary Family Assistance program benefits; and (5) unemployment rate. Pursuant to CGS §7-545 the PIC index includes each town that has a cumulative point ranking in the top quartile of the PIC Index (i.e. the 42 towns with the highest number of points). When a town’s ranking falls below the top quartile in a given fiscal year, the town's designation as a Public Investment Community continues for that year and the following four fiscal years. As a result, the PIC index includes certain towns carried over from previous fiscal years (indicated in the data as "grandfathered"). The PIC index determines eligibility for several financial assistance programs that various agencies administer, including: -Urban Action Bond Assistance -Small Town Economic Assistance Program -Community Economic Development Program -Residential Mortgage Guarantee Program -Education Cost Sharing -Malpractice Insurance Purchase Program -Connecticut Manufacturing Innovation Fund -Enterprise Corridor Zone Designation Most of the towns included on the PIC index are eligible to elect for assistance under the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) in lieu of Urban Action Bond assistance, pursuant to CGS §4-66g(b). An eligible town’s legislative body (or its board of selectmen if the town’s legislative body is the town meeting) must vote to choose STEAP assistance and the town must notify OPM following the vote. STEAP election is valid for four years and the statute allows extensions for additional four-year periods.

    Description

The Case Mix Index (CMI) is the average relative DRG weight of a hospital’s inpatient discharges, calculated by summing the Medicare Severity-Diagnosis Related Group (MS-DRG) weight for each discharge and dividing the total by the number of discharges. The CMI reflects the diversity, clinical complexity, and resource needs of all the patients in the hospital. A higher CMI indicates a more complex and resource-intensive case load. Although the MS-DRG weights, provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), were designed for the Medicare population, they are applied here to all discharges regardless of payer. Note: It is not meaningful to add the CMI values together.

    Description

Acoustic monitoring captures the sound of nature, revealing biodiversity patterns and underlying drivers. Acoustic indices are increasingly used to analyse obtained recordings, but studies show inconsistent performance of acoustic indices as biodiversity indicators. Here, we develop a conceptual framework on what acoustic indices reflect, including sound sources as well as their direct and indirect drivers. We evaluate our framework using recordings from six land use types and old growth forest sites in north-eastern Madagascar. We found the highest correlation (adj. R² > 0.51) of Acoustic Diversity Index and Acoustic Entropy with endemic multi-taxa species richness, canopy closure, and vegetation density. The results suggest that including multiple taxa strengthens the association between the indices and species richness, potentially accounting for unobserved vocalising taxa, and that acoustic indices indicate habitat quality, reflecting underlying indirect and direct drivers affecting biodiversity. Yet, some acoustic indices are limited by saturation and their sensitivity is too low to detect small changes in biodiversity (i.e., loss of few species).

Ratings are based on percent positive scores of the survey items that make up each index. The ratings provide a reliable assessment of where agencies rank on the Employee Engagement Index, Global Satisfaction Index, and Performance Confidence Index. A review of results on the various items that comprise each index provides agencies with a richer understanding of aspects of the workplace (e.g., management practices) that employees perceive as effective versus those which should be developed and improved. Subindex scores are calculated by averaging the unrounded percent positive of each of the items in the subindex. To view index ratings, select from the options below.

The real-time index database market is experiencing robust growth, driven by the increasing demand for immediate insights from large volumes of data across diverse sectors. The market's expansion is fueled by the proliferation of IoT devices generating massive real-time data streams, the need for faster decision-making in competitive environments, and the rise of sophisticated analytics applications requiring rapid data access. Cloud-based solutions dominate the market due to their scalability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of deployment, attracting both individual users and large enterprises. However, concerns around data security and latency in cloud-based systems present some restraints. The on-premises segment, while smaller, continues to cater to businesses with stringent data sovereignty requirements or those managing exceptionally sensitive information. Key players like Elastic, Amazon Web Services, Apache Solr, Splunk, and Microsoft are shaping the market landscape through continuous innovation and competitive offerings. Geographic distribution reflects the concentration of technological infrastructure and data generation, with North America and Europe currently leading the market, followed by the Asia-Pacific region showing significant potential for future growth. The market's Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) suggests a consistent upward trajectory, indicating continued investment and market expansion throughout the forecast period. The competitive dynamics are marked by a mix of established players and emerging entrants. Established players leverage their existing infrastructure and customer bases, while new entrants focus on niche areas and innovative solutions. The market is also witnessing increased adoption of hybrid models combining cloud and on-premises solutions to balance cost-efficiency, security, and performance. Future growth will depend on technological advancements, particularly in areas like distributed ledger technology and edge computing, which will enhance the real-time capabilities and scalability of index databases. Furthermore, the increasing focus on data governance and regulatory compliance will also influence market adoption and shape the development of future solutions. The market is anticipated to witness a sustained period of growth, fueled by the ever-growing demand for real-time data analytics and insights across various sectors and regions.

    Description

The trophic state index (TSI) serves as a key indicator for understanding the spatial pattern and temporal variation in lake eutrophication, which has not been fully explored for long-term environmental monitoring, especially for small and medium lakes. Landsat satellites provide the capability of monitoring the temporal and spatial distribution of small lakes with a 30 m spatial resolution, which offers an effective complement. Here we generated a dataset of TSI for lakes in China (CNLTSI) using Landsat archives (Landsat-5 TM, Landsat-7 ETM+, and Landsat-8 OLI) from 1984 to 2023, which contains 2693 predominantly small to medium nationwide lakes in China in the past 4 decades. The dataset produced has a spatial resolution of 30 m and varying temporal resolution due to differences in satellite overpasses and cloud interference.

    Measurement technique
The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the two variables, namely (a) population and (b) population as a percentage of the total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the age groups. For age groups we divided it into roughly a 5 year bucket for ages between 0 and 85. For over 85, we aggregated data into a single group for all ages. About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Index population distribution across 18 age groups. It lists the population in each age group along with the percentage population relative of the total population for Index. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Index by age. For example, using this dataset, we can identify the largest age group in Index.

    Key observations

The largest age group in Index, WA was for the group of age 10 to 14 years years with a population of 24 (14.63%), according to the ACS 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. At the same time, the smallest age group in Index, WA was the Under 5 years years with a population of 0 (0%). Source: U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates

    Description

    1) Data Introduction • The AI Global Index Dataset is a comprehensive index that benchmarks 62 countries based on the level of AI investment, innovation, and implementation, including seven key indicators (human resources, infrastructure, operational environment, research, development, government strategy, commercialization) and general information by country (region, cluster, income group, political system).

    2) Data Utilization (1) AI Global Index Dataset has characteristics that: • This dataset consists of a total of 13 columns with 5 categorical variables (regions, clusters, etc.) and 8 numerical variables (scores for each indicator), covering 62 countries. • The seven key indicators are classified into three pillars: △ implementation (human resources/infrastructure/operational environment) △ innovation (R&D) △ investment (government strategy/commercialization), and assess each country's overall AI ecosystem capabilities in multiple dimensions. (2) AI Global Index Dataset can be used to: • Global AI leadership pattern analysis: Correlation analysis between seven indicators can identify AI strengths and weaknesses by country and perform group comparisons by region and income level. • Machine learning-based predictive model: It can be used for data science education and application, such as country-specific index prediction through regression analysis or classification of AI development types through clustering.
