    The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of Fort Union National Monument and Vicinity, New Mexico is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (foun_geology.gdb), a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage, and 3.) 2.2 KMZ/KML file for use in Google Earth, however, this format version of the map is limited in data layers presented and in access to GRI ancillary table information. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (foun_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (foun_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). The OGC geopackage is supported with a QGIS project (.qgz) file. Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats.     These retrofit areas were producing by overlaying certain weighted data layers based on the following categories:• Transportation Access• Land Use/Ownership • Funding Resources• Demographic Status• Neighborhood Deficiency• Neighborhood Assets• Employment OppotunitiesThe data layers and their weights were unioned together into one layer and broken out into 5 categories based on the total weight for each area. Lowest (0-10); Low (11-16); Moderate (17-21); High (22-24); Highest (25-43). This data layer shows all the categories but the Highest level only was chosen as areas prime for retrofit.This analysis was run only for the Urban portion inside the Urban Rural Demarcation Line (URDL) and shows areas inside the URDL that are prime for retrofitting for infill development.

    Description

    The files linked to this reference are the geospatial data created as part of the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Current format is ArcGIS file geodatabase but older formats may exist as shapefiles. The vegetation map was developed through on-screen digitizing of available black and white digital ortho-photographs from 1984 and 1999. The photos were compiled into a GIS with a standard set of ancillary layers provided by the park service (boundaries, roads, facilities, etc.). Using the vegetation classification as the foundation for the map legend, map units were defined with respect to interpretable patterns in the photography, and with an eye to those patterns that would be most important in natural and cultural resources management within the park. The map included 19 map classes and covered a total of 278.13 ha.

    Description

    The Existing Land Use feature class was created using a variety of sources to compile an initial database, then verified and edited through extensive field work. Sources used to create the initial layer included: Tax data, building codes, and existing datasets(i.e. parks, daycare locations, threatened agriculture). After using these sources to classify as many parcels' land use as possible, any remaining null values were given a classification using aerials and pictometry, or an internet search engine if needed. If a parcel's land use could not be classified using any of these sources, then the parcel would be classified as Unknown until verified in the field. Initial field verification took place between August 2011 to March 2012. This was performed by a team of 2-3 people using ArcGIS in the field. The CRTPO region (formerly known as MUMPO) was divided into smaller study areas and as many roads as possible were covered in each area. After completing a survey of an area, any land use errors noted in the field were edited back at the office.

When the download completes, browse to the location of the downloaded .zip, copy it to the location where you manage your redistricting files, then right-click to extract the contents. You will then be able to use the file in GIS software.If, rather than downloading the data, you wish the reference online versions of these datasets directly to ensure you are always using the most up-to-date data, please contact the County of San Bernardino Innovation and Technology Departments at 909-884-4884 or by emailing OpenData@isd.sbcounty.gov for informations and instructions for doing so.This dataset should only be used for the purpose of establishing election divisions within a district. It will be removed once the redistricting process has concluded.
