    Description

In the middle of 2023, about 60 percent of the global population was living in Asia. The total world population amounted to 8.1 billion people on the planet. In other words 4.7 billion people were living in Asia as of 2023. Global populationDue to medical advances, better living conditions and the increase of agricultural productivity, the world population increased rapidly over the past century, and is expected to continue to grow. After reaching eight billion in 2023, the global population is estimated to pass 10 billion by 2060. Africa expected to drive population increase Most of the future population increase is expected to happen in Africa. The countries with the highest population growth rate in 2024 were mostly African countries. While around 1.47 billion people live on the continent as of 2024, this is forecast to grow to 3.9 billion by 2100. This is underlined by the fact that most of the countries wit the highest population growth rate are found in Africa. The growing population, in combination with climate change, puts increasing pressure on the world's resources.

As of February 2025, 5.56 billion individuals worldwide were internet users, which amounted to 67.9 percent of the global population. Of this total, 5.24 billion, or 63.9 percent of the world's population, were social media users. Global internet usage Connecting billions of people worldwide, the internet is a core pillar of the modern information society. Northern Europe ranked first among worldwide regions by the share of the population using the internet in 20254. In The Netherlands, Norway and Saudi Arabia, 99 percent of the population used the internet as of February 2025. North Korea was at the opposite end of the spectrum, with virtually no internet usage penetration among the general population, ranking last worldwide. Eastern Asia was home to the largest number of online users worldwide – over 1.34 billion at the latest count. Southern Asia ranked second, with around 1.2 billion internet users. China, India, and the United States rank ahead of other countries worldwide by the number of internet users. Worldwide internet user demographics As of 2024, the share of female internet users worldwide was 65 percent, five percent less than that of men. Gender disparity in internet usage was bigger in African countries, with around a ten percent difference. Worldwide regions, like the Commonwealth of Independent States and Europe, showed a smaller usage gap between these two genders. As of 2024, global internet usage was higher among individuals between 15 and 24 years old across all regions, with young people in Europe representing the most significant usage penetration, 98 percent. In comparison, the worldwide average for the age group 15–24 years was 79 percent. The income level of the countries was also an essential factor for internet access, as 93 percent of the population of the countries with high income reportedly used the internet, as opposed to only 27 percent of the low-income markets.

    Description

In 2025, India overtook China as the world's most populous country and now has almost 1.46 billion people. China now has the second-largest population in the world, still with just over 1.4 billion inhabitants, however, its population went into decline in 2023. Global population As of 2025, the world's population stands at almost 8.2 billion people and is expected to reach around 10.3 billion people in the 2080s, when it will then go into decline. Due to improved healthcare, sanitation, and general living conditions, the global population continues to increase; mortality rates (particularly among infants and children) are decreasing and the median age of the world population has steadily increased for decades. As for the average life expectancy in industrial and developing countries, the gap has narrowed significantly since the mid-20th century. Asia is the most populous continent on Earth; 11 of the 20 largest countries are located there. It leads the ranking of the global population by continent by far, reporting four times as many inhabitants as Africa. The Demographic Transition The population explosion over the past two centuries is part of a phenomenon known as the demographic transition. Simply put, this transition results from a drastic reduction in mortality, which then leads to a reduction in fertility, and increase in life expectancy; this interim period where death rates are low and birth rates are high is where this population explosion occurs, and population growth can remain high as the population ages. In today's most-developed countries, the transition generally began with industrialization in the 1800s, and growth has now stabilized as birth and mortality rates have re-balanced. Across less-developed countries, the stage of this transition varies; for example, China is at a later stage than India, which accounts for the change in which country is more populous - understanding the demographic transition can help understand the reason why China's population is now going into decline. The least-developed region is Sub-Saharan Africa, where fertility rates remain close to pre-industrial levels in some countries. As these countries transition, they will undergo significant rates of population growth.

    Description

Globally, about 25 percent of the population is under 15 years of age and 10 percent is over 65 years of age. Africa has the youngest population worldwide. In Sub-Saharan Africa, more than 40 percent of the population is below 15 years, and only three percent are above 65, indicating the low life expectancy in several of the countries. In Europe, on the other hand, a higher share of the population is above 65 years than the population under 15 years. Fertility rates The high share of children and youth in Africa is connected to the high fertility rates on the continent. For instance, South Sudan and Niger have the highest population growth rates globally. However, about 50 percent of the world’s population live in countries with low fertility, where women have less than 2.1 children. Some countries in Europe, like Latvia and Lithuania, have experienced a population decline of one percent, and in the Cook Islands, it is even above two percent. In Europe, the majority of the population was previously working-aged adults with few dependents, but this trend is expected to reverse soon, and it is predicted that by 2050, the older population will outnumber the young in many developed countries. Growing global population As of 2025, there are 8.1 billion people living on the planet, and this is expected to reach more than nine billion before 2040. Moreover, the global population is expected to reach 10 billions around 2060, before slowing and then even falling slightly by 2100. As the population growth rates indicate, a significant share of the population increase will happen in Africa.

    Description

Whereas the population is expected to decrease somewhat until 2100 in Asia, Europe, and South America, it is predicted to grow significantly in Africa. While there were 1.55 billion inhabitants on the continent at the beginning of 2025, the number of inhabitants is expected to reach 3.81 billion by 2100. In total, the global population is expected to reach nearly 10.18 billion by 2100. Worldwide population In the United States, the total population is expected to steadily increase over the next couple of years. In 2024, Asia held over half of the global population and is expected to have the highest number of people living in urban areas in 2050. Asia is home to the two most populous countries, India and China, both with a population of over one billion people. However, the small country of Monaco had the highest population density worldwide in 2024. Effects of overpopulation Alongside the growing worldwide population, there are negative effects of overpopulation. The increasing population puts a higher pressure on existing resources and contributes to pollution. As the population grows, the demand for food grows, which requires more water, which in turn takes away from the freshwater available. Concurrently, food needs to be transported through different mechanisms, which contributes to air pollution. Not every resource is renewable, meaning the world is using up limited resources that will eventually run out. Furthermore, more species will become extinct which harms the ecosystem and food chain. Overpopulation was considered to be one of the most important environmental issues worldwide in 2020.

    Description

There are approximately 8.16 billion people living in the world today, a figure that shows a dramatic increase since the beginning of the Common Era. Since the 1970s, the global population has also more than doubled in size. It is estimated that the world's population will reach and surpass 10 billion people by 2060 and plateau at around 10.3 billion in the 2080s, before it then begins to fall. Asia When it comes to number of inhabitants per continent, Asia is the most populous continent in the world by a significant margin, with roughly 60 percent of the world's population living there. Similar to other global regions, a quarter of inhabitants in Asia are under 15 years of age. The most populous nations in the world are India and China respectively; each inhabit more than three times the amount of people than the third-ranked United States. 10 of the 20 most populous countries in the world are found in Asia. Africa Interestingly, the top 20 countries with highest population growth rate are mainly countries in Africa. This is due to the present stage of Sub-Saharan Africa's demographic transition, where mortality rates are falling significantly, although fertility rates are yet to drop and match this. As much of Asia is nearing the end of its demographic transition, population growth is predicted to be much slower in this century than in the previous; in contrast, Africa's population is expected to reach almost four billion by the year 2100. Unlike demographic transitions in other continents, Africa's population development is being influenced by climate change on a scale unseen by most other global regions. Rising temperatures are exacerbating challenges such as poor sanitation, lack of infrastructure, and political instability, which have historically hindered societal progress. It remains to be seen how Africa and the world at large adapts to this crisis as it continues to cause drought, desertification, natural disasters, and climate migration across the region.

Although it took thousands of years to reach one billion people, it did so at the beginning of a phenomenon known as the demographic transition; from this point onwards, population growth has skyrocketed, and since the 1960s the population has increased by one billion people every 12 to 15 years. The demographic transition sees a sharp drop in mortality due to factors such as vaccination, sanitation, and improved food supply; the population boom that follows is due to increased survival rates among children and higher life expectancy among the general population; and fertility then drops in response to this population growth. Regional differences The demographic transition is a global phenomenon, but it has taken place at different times across the world. The industrialized countries of Europe and North America were the first to go through this process, followed by some states in the Western Pacific. Latin America's population then began growing at the turn of the 20th century, but the most significant period of global population growth occurred as Asia progressed in the late-1900s. As of the early 21st century, almost two-thirds of the world's population lives in Asia, although this is set to change significantly in the coming decades. Future growth The growth of Africa's population, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, will have the largest impact on global demographics in this century. From 2000 to 2100, it is expected that Africa's population will have increased by a factor of almost five. It overtook Europe in size in the late 1990s, and overtook the Americas a few years later. In contrast to Africa, Europe's population is now in decline, as birth rates are consistently below death rates in many countries, especially in the south and east, resulting in natural population decline. Similarly, the population of the Americas and Asia are expected to go into decline in the second half of this century, and only Oceania's population will still be growing alongside Africa. By 2100, the world's population will have over three billion more than today, with the vast majority of this concentrated in Africa. Demographers predict that climate change is exacerbating many of the challenges that currently hinder progress in Africa, such as political and food instability; if Africa's transition is prolonged, then it may result in further population growth that would place a strain on the region's resources, however, curbing this growth earlier would alleviate some of the pressure created by climate change.

According to Cognitive Market Research, the Global Anti-infective drugs market will be USD XX Billion in 2023 and is set to achieve a market size of USD XX Billion by the end of 2031 growing at a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2031. North America held the major market share for more than XX% of the global revenue with a market size of USD XX million in 2024 and will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of XX % from 2024 to 2031. The Asia Pacific region is the fastest-growing market with a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2031 and it is projected that it will grow at a CAGR of XX% in the future. Europe accounted for a market share of over XX% of the global revenue with a market size of USD XX million. Latin America had a market share for more than XX% of the global revenue with a market size of USD XX million in 2024 and will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of XX% from 2024 to 2031. Middle East and Africa had a market share of around XX% of the global revenue and was estimated at a market size of USD XX million in 2024 and will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of XX% from 2024 to 2031. The Anti-infective market held the highest market revenue share in 2024. Market Dynamics of The Anti-Infective Drugs Market

Key Drivers for the Anti-Infective Drugs Market

The increasing prevalence of HIV and other infectious diseases fuels the anti-infective drugs market.

The escalating prevalence of HIV and other infectious diseases globally is driving the demand for anti-infective drugs. Factors such as population growth, urbanization, and risky behaviors contribute to the spread of these diseases, necessitating effective treatment options. As a result, the anti-infective drugs market is expected to expand to meet the growing need for combating infectious diseases. For instance, in 2022 as per HIV.gov number of people with HIV there were approximately 39 million people across the globe with HIV in 2022. Of these, 37.5 million were adults, and 1.5 million were children (<15 years old). In addition, 53% were women and girls. Source:(https://www.hiv.gov/hiv-basics/overview/data-and-trends/global-statistics#:~:text=Number%20of%20People%20with%20HIV,53%25%20were%20women%20and%20girls.) Hence, the rising prevalence of HIV and other infectious diseases is fueling demand for anti-infective drugs due to factors like population growth and urbanization, necessitating effective treatments and driving market expansion.

The increasing geriatric population with a higher risk of being susceptible to infectious diseases is driving the market growth.

Age diminishes the effectiveness of the human immune system in preventing disease and decreasing its reactivity to immunizations. The capacity of the immune system to differentiate between foreign and own antigens declines. When faced with new antigens, T cells that recognize and recall antigens from the past react more slowly. A combination of rising comorbidities and lowered immune system activity makes people more prone to infections, which is fueling the market's expansion. For instance, according to estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO), by 2030, one in every six persons in the world will be 60 years old or more, and by 2050, the world population of people aged 60 years and older will get doubled (2.1 billion). Between 2020 and 2050, the number of people aged 80 and more is predicted to triple, reaching 426 million. Source:(https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/ageing-and-health#:~:text=By%202030%2C%201%20in%206,will%20double%20(2.1%20billion).) Thus, the aging population, with weakened immune systems and increased susceptibility to infections, is driving growth in the anti-infective drugs market as age-related factors heighten the risk of infectious diseases, spurring market demand.

Restraint Factor for The Anti-Infective Drugs Market

The increasing number of antimicrobial resistance cases restrains the anti-infective drugs market.

The surge in antimicrobial resistance poses a significant challenge to the anti-infective drugs market. With pathogens evolving to resist conventional treatments, the efficacy of existing anti-infective drugs diminishes. This growing resistance not only limits treatment options but also increases healthcare costs and mortality rates. Addressing antimicrobial resistance requires innovative approaches and investments in research and deve...

    Description

    Introduction

Global Hospice Market size is expected to be worth around USD 182.1 Billion by 2033, from USD 72.8 Billion in 2023, growing at a CAGR of 9.6% during the forecast period from 2024 to 2033. In 2023, North America led the market, achieving over 38% share with a revenue of US$ 27.6 Billion.

The market’s growth is driven by the increasing demand for palliative and end-of-life care due to an aging population. This demographic shift has created a need for services that address chronic illnesses and provide compassionate care, primarily delivered by hospices. Advances in telemedicine have further expanded access to comprehensive care, particularly in remote regions.

Interdisciplinary approaches involving doctors, nurses, social workers, and chaplains play a crucial role in improving care quality. These methods enhance patient and family satisfaction, key healthcare performance metrics. Additionally, evolving policies and regulations are improving hospice care frameworks, making services more affordable and accessible, reinforcing their importance in the healthcare system.

Rising public awareness about hospice care has led to more frequent physician referrals. For example, the “Compassionate Conversations†program launched by VITAS Healthcare in April 2023 fosters discussions about end-of-life care options, ensuring patients and families are well-informed and supported.

Strategic collaborations have also enhanced care delivery. In August 2023, Kindred Healthcare partnered with Palliative CareNet to implement a cloud-based platform improving communication and care coordination for hospice patients. Similarly, in October 2023, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Center to Advance Palliative Care launched a program aimed at improving palliative care in rural areas, addressing challenges like accessibility and care quality.

The hospice market continues to evolve toward a personalized, technology-driven, and patient-focused care model, meeting diverse needs while improving access and service quality.

The Pyrethroid Market held the highest market revenue share in 2024. Market Dynamics of the Pyrethroid Market

Key Drivers for The Pyrethroid Market

Increased need for insect-repellent products drives market growth for pyrethroids

The market for pyrethroids is anticipated to rise at a rapid pace due to the increasing demand for products that repel insects. Products labeled as "insect-repellent" are made of ingredients or combinations intended to repel insects away from surfaces, people, or animals. People use these items regularly, particularly in outdoor environments or places where insects are prevalent. Because pyrethroid-based insect repellents are so good at keeping insects like flies, mosquitoes, ticks, and other biting or bothersome insects at bay, there is a developing market for these treatments. They are a common ingredient in insect-repellent compositions because of their effectiveness in warding off these pests. For Instance, in May 2023, A European government organization called Eurostat reported that in 2021, 355,175 tons of pesticides were sold in Europe. This was a little increase of 2.7% above the 346,000 tons in 2020. The largest pesticide sales volumes in 2021 were recorded by fungicides and bactericides, herbicides, humus destroyers, moss killers, insecticides, and acaricides, in that order (44%, 34%, and 14%). Consequently, the market for pyrethroids is expanding due to the rising demand for products that repel insects. Source:(https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/products-eurostat-news/w/ddn-20230510-1) Thus, the increased need for insect-repellent products is a significant driver of market growth for pyrethroids, as these chemicals are widely used in various insecticides and pest control solutions to address growing concerns about vector-borne diseases and crop protection.

The market for pyrethroids rises in response to rising global population demands for food.

The market for pyrethroids is anticipated to rise in the future because to rising food demands brought on by a growing population. The term "food demands of a growing population" describes the rising demand for food resources brought on by the world's population growth. By successfully controlling pest infestations, promoting food security, and satisfying the requirement for increased agricultural production to meet the demands of a growing global population, pyrethroids are employed to secure higher crop yields. For instance, in September 2022, A US government agency, the U.S. Census Bureau, reports that as of 2022, there were 333,287,557 residents in the country, a rise of 1,256,003, or 0.4%, from the previous year. Source:(https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2022/2022-population-estimates.html) For instance, as of September 2022, the U.S. Census Bureau a US government agency reported that the number of residents in the US had grown by 0.4%, or 1,256,003, to 333,287,557. Description

The statistic shows the total population of India from 2019 to 2029. In 2023, the estimated total population in India amounted to approximately 1.43 billion people.

    Total population in India

India currently has the second-largest population in the world and is projected to overtake top-ranking China within forty years. Its residents comprise more than one-seventh of the entire world’s population, and despite a slowly decreasing fertility rate (which still exceeds the replacement rate and keeps the median age of the population relatively low), an increasing life expectancy adds to an expanding population. In comparison with other countries whose populations are decreasing, such as Japan, India has a relatively small share of aged population, which indicates the probability of lower death rates and higher retention of the existing population.

With a land mass of less than half that of the United States and a population almost four times greater, India has recognized potential problems of its growing population. Government attempts to implement family planning programs have achieved varying degrees of success. Initiatives such as sterilization programs in the 1970s have been blamed for creating general antipathy to family planning, but the combined efforts of various family planning and contraception programs have helped halve fertility rates since the 1960s. The population growth rate has correspondingly shrunk as well, but has not yet reached less than one percent growth per year.

As home to thousands of ethnic groups, hundreds of languages, and numerous religions, a cohesive and broadly-supported effort to reduce population growth is difficult to create. Despite that, India is one country to watch in coming years. It is also a growing economic power; among other measures, its GDP per capita was expected to triple between 2003 and 2013 and was listed as the third-ranked country for its share of the global gross domestic product.

Which county has the most Facebook users?

There are more than 378 million Facebook users in India alone, making it the leading country in terms of Facebook audience size. To put this into context, if India’s Facebook audience were a country then it would be ranked third in terms of largest population worldwide. Apart from India, there are several other markets with more than 100 million Facebook users each: The United States, Indonesia, and Brazil with 193.8 million, 119.05 million, and 112.55 million Facebook users respectively.

Facebook – the most used social media

Meta, the company that was previously called Facebook, owns four of the most popular social media platforms worldwide, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram. As of the third quarter of 2021, there were around 3,5 billion cumulative monthly users of the company’s products worldwide. With around 2.9 billion monthly active users, Facebook is the most popular social media worldwide. With an audience of this scale, it is no surprise that the vast majority of Facebook’s revenue is generated through advertising.

                  Facebook usage by device
As of July 2021, it was found that 98.5 percent of active users accessed their Facebook account from mobile devices. In fact, almost 81.8 percent of Facebook audiences worldwide access the platform only via mobile phone. Facebook is not only available through mobile browser as the company has published several mobile apps for users to access their products and services. As of the third quarter 2021, the four core Meta products were leading the ranking of most downloaded mobile apps worldwide, with WhatsApp amassing approximately six billion downloads.
