    This is a 1 arc-second (approximately 30 m) resolution tiled collection of the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) seamless data products . 3DEP data serve as the elevation layer of The National Map, and provide basic elevation information for Earth science studies and mapping applications in the United States. Scientists and resource managers use 3DEP data for global change research, hydrologic modeling, resource monitoring, mapping and visualization, and many other applications. 3DEP data compose an elevation dataset that consists of seamless layers and a high resolution layer. Each of these layers consists of the best available raster elevation data of the conterminous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, territorial islands, Mexico and Canada. 3DEP data are updated continually as new data become available. Seamless 3DEP data are derived from diverse source data that are processed to a common coordinate system and unit of vertical measure. These data are distributed in geographic coordinates in units of decimal degrees, and in conformance with the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83). All elevation values are in meters and, over the conterminous United States, are referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88). The vertical reference will vary in other areas. The elevations in these DEMs represent the topographic bare-earth surface. All 3DEP products are public domain.     The USGS 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) Index service from The National Map shows two general categories of downloadable elevation data: (1) digital elevation model (DEM) datasets at standardized horizontal resolutions, and (2) elevation source data including that used to produce standard DEMs, and additional datasets derived from ifsar in Alaska only. Distributable DEM products include: 2 arc-second (in Alaska only); 1 arc-second; 1/3 arc-second; 1/9 arc-second; 5 meter (in Alaska only); and 1 meter. The 2-, 1-, and 1/3-arc-second products are staged for download in 1x1 degree tiles in ArcGrid, GridFloat, or IMG formats, while 1/9 arc-second products are staged in 15x15 minute tiles in IMG format only. The 5-meter products are staged for download in ArcGrid only as a single mosaicked raster to each project extent. The 1-meter products are staged in 10,000x10,000 meter tiles in IMG format only. Distributable elevation source data include: lidar point clouds (LPC) in LAS format for various parts of the U.S., and ifsar-derived digital surface models (DSM) and orthorectified radar images (ORI) in TIFF format in Alaska only. The elevations in this DEM represent the topographic bare-earth surface. USGS standard 1m pixel size DEMs are produced exclusively from high resolution light detection and ranging (lidar) source data of images with 1m pixel size or higher resolution. 1m pixel size DEM surfaces are seamless within collection projects but not necessarily seamless across projects. The spatial reference used for tiles of the 1m pixel size DEM within the conterminous United States (CONUS) is Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) in units of meters and in conformance with the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). All bare earth elevation values are in meters and are referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Each tile is distributed in the UTM Zone in which it lies. If a tile crosses two UTM zones, it is delivered in both zones. In this and other cases of image overlaps, elevation values might be slightly different in different images covering the same area. The 1m pixel size DEM is the highest resolution standard DEM offered in the 3DEP product suite. The 10m 3DEP dataset is available at USGS_3DEP_10m.

    Description

    The USGS and the NGA have collaborated on the development of a notably enhanced global elevation model named the GMTED2010 that replaces GTOPO30 as the elevation dataset of choice for global and continental scale applications. The new model has been generated at three separate resolutions (horizontal post spacing) of 30 arc-seconds (about 1 kilometer), 15 arc-seconds (about 500 meters), and 7.5 arc-seconds (about 250 meters). This new product suite provides global coverage of all land areas from latitude 84 degrees N to 56 degrees S for most products, and coverage from 84 degrees N to 90 degrees S for several products. Some areas, namely Greenland and Antarctica, do not have data available at the 15- and 7.5-arc-second resolutions because the input source data do not support that level of detail. An additional advantage of the new multi-resolution global model over GTOPO30 is that seven new raster elevation products are available at each resolution. The new elevation products have been produced using the following aggregation methods: minimum elevation, maximum elevation, mean elevation, median elevation, standard deviation of elevation, systematic subsample, and breakline emphasis. The systematic subsample product is defined using a nearest neighbor resampling function, whereby an actual elevation value is extracted from the input source at the center of a processing window. Most vertical heights in GMTED2010 are referenced to the Earth Gravitational Model 1996 (EGM 96) geoid (NGA, 2010). In addition to the elevation products, detailed spatially referenced metadata containing attribute fields such as coordinates, projection information, and raw source elevation statistics have been generated on a tile-by-tile basis for all the input datasets that constitute the global elevation model. GMTED2010 is based on data derived from 11 raster-based elevation sources.

    These topographic/bathymetric digital elevation models (DEMs) were collected and compiled to characterize erosion and deposition in the Colorado River and in an adjacent zone of laterally recirculating flow (eddy) during both average flow conditions and during a controlled flood that occurred in March 2008. The objectives of the study were to measure changes sandbar morphology that occurred during changes in discharge associated with the controlled flood. These data were collected between February 6 and March 31, 2008 in a 1-mile study reach on the Colorado River within Grand Canyon National Park beginning 44.5 miles downstream from Lees Ferry, Arizona.     A Digital Raster Graphic (DRG) is a scanned image of a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topographic map. An unclipped scanned image includes all marginal information, while a clipped or seamless scanned image clips off the collar information. DRGs may be used as a source or background layer in a geographic information system, as a means to perform quality assurance on other digital products, and as a source for the collection and revision of digital line graph data. The DRGs also can be merged with other digital data (e.g., digital elevation model or digital orthophotoquad data), to produce a hybrid digital file. The output resolution of a DRG varies from 250 to 500 dots per inch. The horizontal positional accuracy of the DRG matches the accuracy of the published source map. To be consistent with other USGS digital data, the image is cast on the UTM projection, and therefore, will not always be consistent with the credit note on the image collar. Only the area inside the map neatline is georeferenced, so minor distortion of the text may occur in the map collar.     Description

    The Dauphin County, PA 2016 QL2 LiDAR project called for the planning, acquisition, processing and derivative products of LIDAR data to be collected at a nominal pulse spacing (NPS) of 0.7 meters. Project specifications are based on the U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Program Base LIDAR Specification, Version 1.2. The data was developed based on a horizontal projection/datum of NAD83 (2011) State Plane Pennsylvania South Zone, US survey feet; NAVD1988 (Geoid 12B), US survey feet. LiDAR data was delivered in RAW flight line swath format, processed to create Classified LAS 1.4 Files formatted to 711 individual 5,000-foot x 5,000-foot tiles. Tile names use the following naming schema: "YYYYXXXXPAd" where YYYY is the first 3 characters of the tile's upper left corner Y-coordinate, XXXX - the first 4 characters of the tile's upper left corner X-coordinate, PA = Pennsylvania, and d = 'N' for North or 'S' for South. Corresponding 2.5-foot gridded hydro-flattened bare earth raster tiled DEM files and intensity image files were created using the same 5,000-foot x 5,000-foot schema. Hydro-flattened breaklines were produced in Esri file geodatabase format. Continuous 2-foot contours were produced in Esri file geodatabase format. Ground Conditions: LiDAR collection began in Spring 2016, while no snow was on the ground and rivers were at or below normal levels. In order to post process the LiDAR data to meet task order specifications, Quantum Spatial established a total of 84 control points (24 calibration control points and 60 QC checkpoints). These were used to calibrate the LIDAR to known ground locations established throughout the project area.

    Description

    The dataset is a digital elevation model (DEM), in GeoTiff format, of the bathymetry of Gillham Lake, Sevier County, Arkansas. The extent of the DEM represents the area encompassing the extent of the aerial Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) data used in the project. Horizontal and vertical units are expressed in meters. The DEM was derived from an LAS dataset (an industry-standard binary format for storing aerial LiDAR data) created from point datasets stored in “Gillham2018_gdb”. The point datasets include aerial LiDAR data from a survey conducted in 2016 by the National Resources Conservation Service (U.S. Geological Survey, 2017), point data from digitized historical topographic maps, and bathymetric data from a survey conducted in June 2018 by the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) using methodologies for single and multi-beam sonar surveys similar to those described by Wilson and Richards (2006) and Richards and Huizinga (2018). In April 2019, it was discovered that some of the areas in shallow and/or tree-ridden areas of the lake that had not been surveyed needed additional data in order to generate a more topographically realistic surface. Additional data were interpolated from a combination of elevation data from pre-impoundment topographic maps and from the point datasets of the bathymetric and LiDAR surveys provided in Esri file geodatabase. The interpolated data was added to the geodatabase, the final products re-created, metadata edited accordingly, and the data release reviewed. In response to the second review, a vertical datum discrepancy between the single beam and multi-beam bathymetric datasets was addressed and select areas of erroneous bathymetric data were edited. First release: October 2018; revised April 2020 (version 1.1). Description

This is a tiled collection of the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) and is one meter resolution. The 3DEP data holdings serve as the elevation layer of The National Map, and provide foundational elevation information for earth science studies and mapping applications in the United States. Scientists and resource managers use 3DEP data for hydrologic modeling, resource monitoring, mapping and visualization, and many other applications. The elevations in this DEM represent the topographic bare-earth surface. USGS standard one-meter DEMs are produced exclusively from high resolution light detection and ranging (lidar) source data of one-meter or higher resolution. One-meter DEM surfaces are seamless within collection projects, but, not necessarily seamless across projects. The spatial reference used for tiles of the one-meter DEM within the conterminous United States (CONUS) is Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) in units of meters, and in conformance with the North American Datum of 1983 ...
