The Virginia Geographic Information Network (VGIN) has coordinated the development and maintenance of a statewide Parcels data layer in conjunction with local governments across the Commonwealth. The Virginia Parcel dataset is aggregated as part of the VGIN Local Government Data Call update cycle. Localities are encouraged to submit data bi-annually and are included into the parcel dataset with their most recent geography.Attributes for these Virginia parcels are limited to locality identification and parcel id. Tax parcel boundaries have not been edge-matched across municipal boundaries but they are associated by local government FIPS and locality name. The boundaries are intended for cartographic use and spatial analysis only, and not for use as legal descriptions or property surveys. Not all localities within the Commonwealth of Virginia have confirmed a digital record for parcel geography or submit data with a bi-annual frequency.GDB Version: ArcGIS Pro 3.3Additional Resources:Shapefile DownloadREST EndpointVirginia Parcels: Local Schema Tables

This data is the source of all current parcel identification numbers and the approximate location of the parcel boundaries. These features were created through various means including conversion from mylar maps, heads up digitizing and coordinate geometry. The graphic depiction of the parcel boundaries in this layer is a derivative of the recorded documents that contain the official boundary of each parcel. To determine the accurate definition of any given parcel go to the recorded document housed in the official court recorded system, CPAN.
This layer contains cadastral information for Fairfax County, Virginia. This includes, but is not limited to the portrayal of polygonal features (such as parcels, subdivisions and easements), text (parcel numbers, street names and addresses), and symbols (parkland, schools, "double circles", etc.). This layer was initially developed as a digital copy of the ink-on-mylar property maps maintained by the County since the early 1960's.

Tax District Boundaries: Official tax district boundary lines adopted by the WV Legislature in 1978 as a general reference to delineate rural tax district boundaries. The boundaries were drawn from 1:24,000-scale USGS topographic maps in 1978 and coincide with county magisterial districts as of July 1, 1973. Unlike magisterial districts that are realigned every ten years following the census, the tax district boundary does not follow equal representation requirements. In 1978 the West Virginia Geologic and Economical Survey published six 1:500,000-scale maps delineating official county and tax district boundary lines for the State. In 1996 the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue, Property Tax Division, converted the 1978 source maps into a digital format and added descriptive attributes for each tax district. In October of 2003, the WV GIS Technical Center appended 24K DLG boundary files and lines drawn from 24K DRGs into a statewide 24K Tax District Boundary dataset. In 2017, WVGISTC has appended this file with parcel data or Census Populated Places boundaries for missing tax districts.
