The Ohio Wetlands Inventory for Van Wert County was produced from May 1985 Landsat Thematic mapper data (cell size 30 meters by 30 meters) using ERDAS Image processing software. The raster data has been converted to ARC/INFO format and exported to an interchange file.
The data was originally georeferenced to UTM zone 17 coordinates NAD 27 and is also available in this coordinate system in ERDAS Imagine format.
The class of woods on hydric soils, wet meadow and farmed wetland fall on hydric soils when digital soils data is available for the county.

This GIS data layer contains all the locatable oil-and-gas wells in Ohio. The feature is derived from coordinates obtained from the Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management (DOGRM) oil and gas well database – Risk Based Data Management System (RBDMS). The RBDMS database has a long history and is a comprehensive collection of well data from historic pre-1980 paper well records (digitized by the Division of Geological Survey (DGS)) to post-1980 DOGRM database solutions.Since 1860, it is estimated that more than 267,000 oil-and-gas wells have been drilled in Ohio. The compressed file also includes a feature used to connect the surface location to the bottom location of a well that has been drilled directionally or horizontally. This coverage was digitized from zoning drafted onto USGS quadrangle maps utilizing a run length encoding technique sampling along horizontal lines which represent the midline of cells with a height of 250 feet . The measurement increment along these horizontal lines was one decafoot (10 feet) the quadrangle files were then merged into a county file which was subsequently converted to ARC / Info format.
The user should bear in mind that this coverage is only an approximation of the zoning as drafted.

Download .zipA soil mapping unit designates a specific type of soil which has unique characteristics including texture, slope, and erosion class.
The soil lines were raster scanned from inked mylars at 1 : 15,840 scale. Automated digitizing procedures were performed as found in the MAPLE SYRUP Manual (Soil Survey Orthorectification and Line Extraction). Raster to vector software was used for soil lines and CAD Software was used to clean-up. Labels were placed into polygons by visual alignment using CAD. Bodies of Water were alligned to an ortho-photo image except for areas less than two acres in size or areas that have been surface mined for coal since the Soil Survey was published. Areas less than two acres in size were shown as a point special feature labeled "WAT" in a separate coverage. Most errors found on the published soil maps were corrected by a soil scientist who referred to copies of the original soil survey field sheets. A few errors were field checked by soil scientists and corrected. Quality Assurance/ Quality control was conducted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. All soil line placements and labels were checked and verified. In addition label placement locations for soil polygons were moved to the centroid of polygons where possible or to other locations to prevent the overlap of labels from adjoining polygons and special features. ARC/INFO software was used to edgematch quarter quadrangles of soil data which were then merged into a county-wide layer. This coverage is presently being reviewed by the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service for compliance with SSURGO standards. This review may require that some changes be made to the data.

This is the Statewide seamless coverage layer for LBRS Address Points. These LBRS datasets (Address Points and Road Centerlines) were derived from multiple sources. Those sources include counties that contract DDTI for continual maintenance of their LBRS Data (see list below) DDTI’s ODOT LBRS Road Centerline update of 2023 (counties include Clermont, Coshocton, Darke, Lake, Knox, Jefferson, Monroe, Perry, Scioto, and Summit). Additionally, other County’s data were obtained directly from their respective GIS website/portal (IE: Hamilton County: www.cagis.org - /Opendata/), or by contacting/requesting the data from each individual County directly. Once the individual datasets were gathered, analysis had to be performed to ensure each followed the proper attribution schema. Individual County’s that had non-compliant datasets were analyzed using GIS Geoprocessing tools and custom-built GIS Modeling and appended into a Master GIS Geodatabase (LBRS Attribution Schema Compliant). This data is hosted and updated on a bi-annual basis, typically in the summer (June/July) and again in the winter (December/Jan) in an attempt to maintain the most current/up to date statewide datasets for public use.
