(Link to Metadata) The Vermont Protected Lands Database (VPLD) is a geospatial database, or GIS layer, of parcels that are currently protected from development through public ownership, private ownership, or protection mechanisms such as easements. The VPLD was designed to facilitate land-conservation planning and related efforts in Vermont. Starting in June 2021, updates will be made directly by the Contributing Technical Partners (CTPs) via an ArcGIS Online (AGO) editing system. As a result, future updates to the VPLD available in the Vermont Geodata Portal will occur with greater regularity and the issue of overlapping features will be more readily reconciled.

This layer represents digitized (scanned) lotting plans of Vermont municipalities, per the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA). The table drives the town lotting plans finder application at the parcels page at the Vermont Open Geodata Portal, visible here: https://geodata.vermont.gov/pages/parcels#lotting-plans
Lotting plans divided land among the proprietors of the town who were originally granted the land. The Vermont State Archives and Records Administration may have more plans than those that are currently digitized and in this list.
Data are sourced from VSARA as of June 6, 2025.

Physical measurements and attributes of stream crossing structures and adjacent stream reaches which are used to provide a relative rating of aquatic organism passage and geomorphic compatibility. Additional screening tools have been developed to identify the amount of habitat available above and below individual structures and the potential for retrofitting an existing structure for improved aquatic organism passage. Data can be used to identify And prioritize potential stream crossing replacements/retrofit projects to improve biological/stream processes and flood resiliency.

INTROThis dataset--UtilityTransmit_VEC, includes 2 Vermont Electric Cooperative, Inc. (VEC) layers. 1) Primary Overhead and Underground Distribution Lines (Utility_VEC_DISTLINES_line). 2) Poles (Utility_VEC_POLES_point).Distribution lines were drawn from pole to pole based on GPS pole locations.VEC’s poles were collected via submeter accurate GPS starting in 2000. More recent locations are being collected via consumer and submeter accurate GPS. Pole locations and attribute data are updated throughout time as poles are changed, or lines are added or retired. Attributes are updated in the office and through inspections in the field.PURPOSEGeneral planning. The attributes come from the 2020 Public Law 94-171 (P.L. 94-171) tables.Data download date: August 12, 2021Census tables: P1, P2, P3, P4, H1, P5, HeaderDownloaded from: Census FTP siteProcessing Notes:Data was downloaded from the U.S. Census Bureau FTP site, imported into SAS format and joined to the 2020 TIGER boundaries. Boundaries are sourced from the 2020 TIGER/Line Geodatabases. Boundaries have been projected into Web Mercator and each attribute has been given a clear descriptive alias name. No alterations have been made to the vertices of the data. Each attribute maintains it's specified name from Census, but also has a descriptive alias name and long description derived from the technical documentation provided by the Census. For a detailed list of the attributes contained in this layer, view the Data tab and select "Fields". The following alterations have been made to the tabular data:Joined all tables to create one wide attribute table:P1 - RaceP2 - Hispanic or Latino, and not Hispanic or Latino by RaceP3 - Race for the Population 18 Years and OverP4 - Hispanic or Latino, and not Hispanic or Latino by Race for the Population 18 Years and OverH1 - Occupancy Status (Housing)P5 - Group Quarters Population by Group Quarters Type (correctional institutions, juvenile facilities, nursing facilities/skilled nursing, college/university student housing, military quarters, etc.)HeaderAfter joining, dropped fields: FILEID, STUSAB, CHARITER, CIFSN, LOGRECNO, GEOVAR, GEOCOMP, LSADC, and BLOCK.GEOCOMP was renamed to GEOID and moved be the first column in the table, the original GEOID was dropped.Placeholder fields for future legislative districts have been dropped: CD118, CD119, CD120, CD121, SLDU22, SLDU24, SLDU26, SLDU28, SLDL22, SLDL24 SLDL26, SLDL28.P0020001 was dropped, as it is duplicative of P0010001. The joined data set was then DISSOLVED on the ONSITE attribute in order to merge polygons with the same ONSITE classification code. VCGI HAS NOT PERFORMED QAQC ON THE RESULTS. AS A RESULT, THIS DATASET SHOULD BE USED WITH CAUTION. NOTICE: This information identifies the new onsite sewage disposal class. This new system replaces the old classification system. Ratings are based on Vermont Environmental Protection Rules, August 16, 2002, based on 20% maximum slope - for lots created on or after June 14, 2002. It doesn't replace onsite investigation. These are the five major classes. Class I - WELL SUITED Class II - MODERATELY SUITED Class III - MARGINALLY SUITED Class IV - NOT SUITED Class V - NOT RATED Refer to documentation bundled with the SOILATTR product--AKA VT DATA - NRCS TOP20 SOILS ATTRIBUTES AND DOCUMENTATION (which is a stand-alone item in Vermont Open Geodata Portal); SOILATTR can be directly downloaded via https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=13a68oimr0sVu_D4jXrNKAMNBIbVE9GN7 .
