As of January 2, 2022, the daily increase of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Egypt reached 801 infections, increasing the cumulative cases to 387,159. As of the same date, there were in total 21,797 deaths and 321,568 recoveries recorded in the country. The highest daily confirmed cases was recorded on 19 June 2020 at 1,774. It is worth noting that the first case in the African continent was registered in Egypt on February 14th.
