Gross domestic product (GDP) has increased over the past two decades in the French overseas regions. In French Guiana, for example, it was almost two billion euros in 2000, compared to over 4.56 billion in 2022. The most significant increase, however, concerns the GDP of La Réunion, which has grown by nearly ten billion euros in twenty years.
By comparison, the GDP of France was 2.64 trillion US dollars in the same year.

In French Guiana, for example, it was approximately 11,800 euros in 2000, compared to over 15,600 in 2022. The most significant increase, however, concerns the GDP per capita of Martinique, which has grown by more than ten thousand euros in twenty years. By comparison, the GDP per capita in France was 42,581 US dollars in the same year.
