    This dataset presents the footprint of the number of active participants with an approved plan in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The data is current as at 31 Dec 2021, includes quarterly snapshots beginning from Dec 2019, and is aggregated to Local Government Area (LGA) 2020. The geographical boundaries are sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) website. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. Their role is to implement the NDIS, which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers. For further information about this dataset, please visit the NDIA - Participants by Local Government Areas. Please note: The State/Territory groupings are based on the participant's latest residential address.
