Statistically significant change between 2013 and 2016. n.p. not published because of small numbers, confidentiality or other concerns about the quality of the data. Ex-drinker - Consumed at least a full serve of alcohol, but not in the previous 12 months. Abstainers - Not consumed alcohol in the previous 12 months. Low risk - On average, had no more than 2 standard drinks per day. Risky - On average, had more than 2 standard drinks per day. At least yearly - Had more than 4 standard drinks at least once a year but not as often as monthly. At least monthly - Had more than 4 standard drinks at least once a month but not as often as weekly. At least weekly - Had more than 4 standard drinks at least once a week. Lifetime - On average, had more than 2 standard drinks per day. Monthly - Had more than 4 standard drinks on one occasion at least once a month. Note:The calculation of alcohol risk was updated in 2013. ‘Abstainers’ no longer equate to ‘never’ and ‘ex-drinkers’ combined because the calculation now excludes drinkers who did not indicate the quantity of alcohol they consumed.
