Volunteers gather location data using GPS, local knowledge, and other free sources of information such as free satellite imagery, and upload it. It is made available as a basemap for GIS work in Esri products under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license.Tip: This service is one of the basemaps used in the ArcGIS.com map viewer and ArcGIS Explorer Online.
