Vicmap Transport provides an accurate representation of the Transport network across Victoria, at a capture scale ranging from 1:2,500 to 1:25,000. It is used in a variety of applications, particularly in emergency services, natural resource management, planning and development, and digital map publications.

Data made available to Vicmap under Cross Border agreements is subject to the maintenance regime of the relevant jurisdiction and is not subject to the same maintenance regime of the Vicmap datasets.

Cross border data made available in Vicmap is not updated regularly and was last updated in January 2012.

This layer is part of Vicmap Lite and contains polygons representing the mainland, islands and the sea. This Vicmap Lite dataset is suited for use between scales of 1: 250,000 and 1 : 2 million. The polygons were sourced from Vicmap Shared. The level of attribute information, the number of features and the number of vertices has been simplified to suit the 1: 250,000 - 1 : 2 million scale range. The concept of a Scale Use Code has been introduced to help control the level of detail displayed.

Vicmap Property Simplified is a modified data model of Vicmap Property. It consists of data representing Victoria's land parcels, properties and road polygons and is used extensively in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) by the public and private sectors.

Vicmap as a Service (VaaS) users can access Victorian foundational spatial data in the cloud via web services and APIs, as an alternative to traditional methods such as downloads and file transfer. VaaS customers can seamlessly integrate their spatial infrastructure with Vicmap and access near real-time data. It also allows users to select and download the data when they need it, rather than downloading the entire dataset. This can mean efficiency savings to systems and processes, especially for customers using large volumes of Vicmap data. VaaS is available to all users of spatial data, including government, private enterprise, research and academia. VaaS includes highly scalable and easily consumable REST services and web feature services (WFS) via APIs. Vicmap products are continuously maintained, with new updates available as often as weekly. Using APIs is an easy and convenient way for customers who regularly require these dynamic datasets to access the most current version. VaaS does not include Vicmap Imagery datasets. This layer contains aspatial details for all properties in Victoria. A property is defined as land, usually contiguous, under one ownership, and of a common class and tenure. It is used for land under common occupation particularly for the purpose of rating, billing or habitation. Properties are typically described by street address allocated by an authority such as local government. It includes: - Property numbers as allocated by local governement authority; - Registered and proposed status; - Type of property, ie, single or multi-assessment; - LGA code; - Unique Feature Identifiers, date stamps and data quality information.
