It is ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified racial categories, and are part of Non-Hispanic classification. Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. This dataset was derived from multiple datasets. You can find a link to the parent datasets in the Lineage Field in this metadata statement. The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived.

This dataset shows the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Mesh Blocks across Victoria, with the 2011 census population and housing counts attached as attributes. It was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from the ABS Mesh Block Population Counts Aus 2011 dataset, and the ABS Boundaries 2011 dataset. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

    Dataset History

The ABS 2011 Mesh Block Population Count spreadsheet (https://data.bioregionalassessments.gov.au/datastore/dataset/ee39fa76-db4e-412a-af0a-115d965b5813) was joined to the Victorian ABS Mesh Block boundaries (https://data.bioregionalassessments.gov.au/datastore/dataset/8b65c3a4-7010-4a79-8eaa-5621b750347f) using the unique MB_CODE11 field within ESRI ArcMap 10.2.

Two additional fields were added to show Mesh Block Area (km2) and Population Density (people/km2). These field values were calculated within ESRI ArcMap 10.2 using the Field Calculator tool.

    Description

A categorised annual count of incident responses performed by the Victoria SES in ABS SA1-defined regions during the period July 2009 - 8 August 2015. The responses detailed are categorised according to incident type and include: "Storm", "Flood", "Tsunami", "Earthquake", "Road Rescue", "Rescue Other" and "Support Other Agency".

For each response a Victoria SES crew was dispatched. Tasks may or may not have subsequently been undertaken in relation to each dispatch. The figures preclude multiple crew attendances at any one incident.

    Description

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. Edge refers to the linear topological primitives that make up MTDB. The All Lines Shapefile contains linear features such as roads, railroads, and hydrography. Additional attribute data associated with the linear features found in the All Lines Shapefile are available in relationship (.dbf) files that users must download separately. The All Lines Shapefile contains the geometry and attributes of each topological primitive edge. Each edge has a unique TIGER/Line identifier (TLID) value.

Description

2021 Short Form Census data (100% sample) broken down by neighbourhood. The data breakdown per neighbourhood is a special data request from Statistics Canada, with help from the Capital Regional District. Data were adapted from the 2021 National Household Survey (short form census questionnaire). Notable differences from the 2016 census data are that Harris Green was not reported in the census (the area is now included in Downtown), and North and South Jubilee are now Jubilee.Data quality:Victoria; City [Census subdivision]; British ColumbiaTotal non-response (TNR) rate, short-form census questionnaire: 4.0%Total non-response (TNR) rate, long-form census questionnaire: 5.3%Source: Statistics Canada, 2021 Census of Population.Focus on Geography Series, 2021 Census - Victoria (Census subdivision) (statcan.gc.ca)
