Part of the Vicmap Features of Interest dataset - Point location of localities within Victoria.
This dataset is a cartographic product that optimises the display locality/township locations in Victoria and adjoining States specifically for map production and webservices.
The records in this dataset represent the location of localities where a spatial point is identifiable both within Victoria and 50 km's beyond the State border. All Victorian records are registered in the Geographic Names Register and hold the associated Geonames ID. Non Victorian records represent similiar features in order to support mapping in areas adjacent to the Victorian Border.
For a authoritative list of Victorian localities see VMADMIN_LOCALITY_POLYGON.

This layer summarises VBA fauna records against a standard grid of 1 degree longitude/latitude (GDA94).
Any VBA taxa record with its centre in a cell is counted as a record for that cell. The number of times a
taxon has been recorded in a cell is collated in the RECORDS column. The first date and last date that a
taxon has been recorded in a cell are also summarised. VBA data summarised against 10 and 5 minute
grids are also available in related datasets. VBA records with a spatial accuracy worse than +/- 1 km are
excluded from this layer.
This layer can be used to indicate general localities where wildlife have been recorded. It can also be used
as an index to assist in the analysis of the VBA_FAUNA25 and VBA_FAUNA100 layers. This layer
includes restricted records and can act as an alternative to VBA_FAUNA_RESTRICTED.
For the purposes of biodiversity management and conservation.
Data Set Source: The Victorian Biodiversity Atlas database
Completeness: Records are available from throughout Victoria, although some area have extremely good coverage, e.g. Central Highlands, East Gippsland.

A GQRUZ refers to area where one or more beneficial uses of groundwater have been restricted. This is identified following an environmental audit where the site has remaining groundwater pollution after clean up attempts have been made. The addresses of the properties have been spatially located by EPA Victoria.
Data no longer maintained by VVG/CeRDI, please access directly via Data VIC links below
The data is accessed directly from the EPA Victoria Interaction Portal. The addresses have been matched using the Victorian Mapping and Address Service (VMAS) and checked for accuracy. Nine sites have not been matched due to ambiguous or incomplete addressing. The details of these can be downloaded here. The VVG team checks for new data and uploads it on a weekly basis.

This dataset provides information about the number of properties, residents, and average property values for Victorian Place cross streets in Charlotte, NC.
The EPA audit reports refer to a searchable list of properties under the audit categories 53X Statement and/or Certificate, 53V Audit recommendations/No audit recommendations and EPA Processing (under the Environmental Protection Act 1970) that is maintained by EPA Victoria. The addresses of the properties have been spatially located and appear on the VVG portal as a WMS layer. The query links the location on the map portal to the on-line databasemaintained by the EPA.
Each site links to up to three reports - in Adobe portable document format (*.pdf) - The Audit report (part a) report is the audit report with the key figures, maps and tables and often includes a signed copy of the certificate or statement of environmental audit. The Report appendices (part b) report contains all of the technical information, including groundwater bores, soil bores or pits, monitoring data, remediation plans, etc., and are often quite large files. The Executive summary (part c) contains an executive summary along with the signed copy of the certificate or statement of environmental audit. These are stipilated in the reporting format guidelines.

The report contains data related to notifications processed by the Department
up to the close of business on the dates specified.
Notifications are counted in the Victorian dataset if the postcode of
residence of the case is in Victoria.
The Department has eight health regions within Victoria, three metropolitan
and five regional areas. Each region is a composition of local government
areas (LGA). Notifications are geocoded to LGAs by street address and postcode
and then allocated to a DH region.

Identifies location, the type of sport played and condition, age and other details about the recreational facility. Data contains approximately 80 types of sport including private gyms and fitness centres. The location of facilities was checked using a range of spatial data including current aerial photos, LGA and property boundaries as well as Google maps. If feasible they were geocoded via Victorian Mapping Address System (VMAS).

The dataset title and abstract are presented here as originally supplied. This dataset contains the digitised boundaries of farm dams in Victoria using a combination of satellite and aerial imagery. Dataset History Data Set Source: The State Government of Victoria commissioned a study to determine the location and impact of farm dams within Victoria. A large part of this study was the location and digitising of farm dam boundaries. For the sections of Northern Victoria within the Murray Darling Basin, these boundaries were created for a Geoscience Australia (GA) project. However, the data of capture for these dams is 2005 +/- 12 months. To address the data gaps in southern Victoria, all farm dam boundaries outside of the Murray Darling Basin were digitised to the same specifications as the GA data, using imagery from 2009/10. In addition, a sample area of approximately 6000 km2 was chosen in the MDB to investigate the level of change in farm dam development between 2005 and 2009. The Victorian Land Use Information System (VLUIS) dataset has been created by the Spatial Information Sciences Group of the Agriculture Research Division in the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport, and Resources. The method used to create VLUIS is significantly different to traditional methods used to create land use information and has been designed to create regular and consistent data over time. It covers the entire landmass of Victoria and separately describes the land tenure, land use and land cover for each cadastral parcel across the state, biennially for land tenure and use and annually for land cover; for each year from 2006 to 2015. The data can be provided as a spatial dataset or in tabular format.
To use the VLUIS data correctly it is important to understand the difference between the three components of VLUIS. The Guidelines for land use mapping in Australia: principles, procedures and definitions, Edition 3 published in 2006 by the Commonwealth of Australia, defines them as follows: Land tenure is the ownership and leasehold interests in land (VLUIS only reports ownership). Land use means the purpose to which the land cover is committed or the property type. Land cover refers to the physical surface of the earth, including various combinations of vegetation types, soils, exposed rocks and water bodies as well as anthropogenic elements, such as agriculture and built environments. The Victorian Land Use Information System (VLUIS) is an ongoing project designed to maintain and manage the Victorian land use mapping dataset.
The methodology is still being refined and as such the dataset is subject to improvements and the release of later versions. It is important you speak to the custodian to be advised of the technical details of the dataset and its utility for your desired use.
Land Cover 2014: Land cover classification accuracy statements for the entire state may not be representative of land cover classification accuracy levels in the north-west of the state due to a paucity of ground truth data in this area (particularly west of Swan Hill and north of Sea Lake). Users are advised to use this land cover information with discretion and contact the data custodians for further information if required.
Land cover classification accuracy varies between classes and the overall classification accuracy may be misleading in terms of the accuracy of an individual class. Users are asked to contact the data custodians for detailed class accuracy information if required for their purposes.
The dataset does not replace LandUse100 which is still valid for the time in which it was created (1996 - 2005).
A metadata statement, for the VLUIS 2014/15 product, and ESRI symbology files for the data can be freely downloaded from the VLUIS project page on the Victorian Resources Online website: http://vro.agriculture.vic.gov.au/dpi/vro/vrosite.nsf/pages/vluis
