Context

The dataset tabulates the population of Virginia Beach city by race. It includes the population of Virginia Beach city across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Virginia Beach city across relevant racial categories.

Key observations

The percent distribution of Virginia Beach city population by race (across all racial categories recognized by the U.S. Census Bureau): 62.77% are white, 18.89% are Black or African American, 0.24% are American Indian and Alaska Native, 7.14% are Asian, 0.13% are Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander, 2.32% are some other race and 8.51% are multiracial.
