    We were able to record a dataset of more than 80 hours of eye tracking data. The dataset comprises 7.8 hours of outdoor activities, 14.3 hours of social interaction, 31.3 hours of focused work, 8.3 hours of travel, 39.5 hours of reading, 28.7 hours of computer work, 18.3 hours of watching media, 7 hours of eating, and 11.4 hours of other (special) activities. Note that annotations are not mutually exclusive, i.e. these durations should be seen independently and sum up to more than the actual dataset size. Most of our participants were students and wore the eye tracker through one day of their normal university life. This is reflected in the overall predominant activities, namely focused work, reading, and computer work. Otherwise, as can also be seen from the table, our dataset contains significant variability with respect to participants’ daily routines and consequently the number, type, and distribution of activities that they performed. For example, while P1 wore the eye tracker during a normal working day at the university, P7 and P9 recorded at a weekend and stayed at home all day mainly reading and working on the computer (P7) or watching movies (P9) with little or no social interactions.

    In silico discovery of representational relationships across visual cortex

    🔍 Overview

    Here we provide the stimuli and corresponding raw fMRI responses from the paper: In silico discovery of representational relationships across visual cortex (Alessandro T. Gifford, Maya A. Jastrzębowska, Johannes J.D. Singer, Radoslaw M. Cichy).

    The stimuli consist of controlling images that align or disentangle either univariate or multivariate responses of areas V1, V2, V3 and V4 for human fMRI responses. We found these images by applying univariate/multivariate relational neural control (RNC) on in-silico (i.e., model generated) fMRI responses. We then validated the V1 vs. V4 controlling images effect on in vivo (i.e., experimentally collected) fMRI responses of six new, independent subjects. Here we provide the in vivo fMRI responses for this validation.

    Each subject underwent two fMRI data collection sessions. The first session consisted of three runs of population receptive field experiment (which we used to delineate areas V1 and V4 in each subject), and 10 runs where we presented the univariate RNC controlling images. The second session consisted of 12 runs where we presented the multivariate RNC controlling images. Anatomical scans and field maps were collected at the beginning of both sessions.

    The stimuli/ folder contains the univariate and multivariante RNC controlling images, as well as the catch images, presented during data collection. Note that prior to data collection we normalized images luminance to the luminance of a uniform gray screen with an RGB value of 127 127 127 using this code.

    The file used_mri_sequences.pdf contains technical details regarding the used MRI sequences.

    Description

    Biological data analysis is the key to new discoveries in disease biology and drug discovery. The rapid proliferation of high-throughput ‘omics’ data has necessitated a need for tools and platforms that allow the researchers to combine and analyse different types of biological data and obtain biologically relevant knowledge. We had previously developed TargetMine, an integrative data analysis platform for target prioritisation and broad-based biological knowledge discovery. Here, we describe the newly modelled biological data types and the enhanced visual and analytical features of TargetMine. These enhancements have included: an enhanced coverage of gene–gene relations, small molecule metabolite to pathway mappings, an improved literature survey feature, and in silico prediction of gene functional associations such as protein–protein interactions and global gene co-expression. We have also described two usage examples on trans-omics data analysis and extraction of gene-disease associations using MeSH term descriptors. These examples have demonstrated how the newer enhancements in TargetMine have contributed to a more expansive coverage of the biological data space and can help interpret genotype–phenotype relations.     Description

    The Expeditions Information System (EIS) contains information recorded by the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration's data manager during the 2002 "Islands in the Stream - Pharmaceutical Discovery, Vision, and Bioluminescence" expedition, August 15 through 31, 2002. Information contained in the EIS includes submersible, remotely operated vehicle, autonomous underwater vehicle, and SCUBA operational information and a summary of scientific observations during each dive; ship activity information (positions, transits, and visitor shuttles); sample information; water column and bottom conditions; weather observations; sea state observations; education and outreach activity information; media event information; scientific instrumentation information; transect information; dive site profiles; and a record of all data collected by principal investigators. The data presented here are the tables from the original EIS which is a FileMaker Pro database.
