Land parcels are administered and maintained by Wake County rather than by local governments within the County. However, for convenience, ToFV GIS serves a sub-set of the Wake County parcels that are restricted to the Urban Service Area of Fuquay-Varina. This parcel data is automatically downloaded every day from Wake County and "clipped" to the ToFV area. This data should always match the full Wake County parcel dataset that is also available for download at all times.

Boundary of Town of Apex, NC zoning/permitting jurisdiction granted by NCGS outside of incorporated limits.Town of Apex, NC Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) Extension was requested from Wake County Board of Commissioners July 2006. Approved by Wake County Board of Commissioners August 2007. Approved by Town of Apex Town Council October 2, 2007. Wake County PIN 0722762014 was relinquished back to Wake County per property owner request on October 15, 2013. An additional 340 acres were relinquished back to Wake County and then added to Holly Springs' ETJ on November 19, 2013 due to the annexation agreement line approved at the same Town Council meeting. Areas are removed from the ETJ polygon once they are annexed (incorporated) into the Town of Apex.
All properties located within the Wake Forest Town Limits or Extra-Territiorial Jurisdicition (ETJ) are subject to the requirements of specified zoning district. An area within the ETJ is subject to the specified Town's zoning and building regulations, not the county's to enable the Town to better ensure that development patterns and associated infastructure will allow the efficient provision of urban services as the Town growns into that area. The Wake Forest Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) combines into a single document the Town's zoning, subdivison, land use, grading, storm water managment, and historic preservation regulations. It outlines the requirement for all development activity. The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) was first adopted by the Town of Wake Forest on July 16th 2013. It was Last Amended on July 19th 2022.
The purpose of this file is to show the individually registered properties within the National Register Historic District (NRHD) for the Town of Apex, NC, as approved by the National Park Service of the United States Department of the Interior. The original NRHD was approved 3/17/1994. Subsequent boundaries were approved as Boundary Increase I (3/10/1995), Boundary Increase II (2/14/2002), and Boundary Increase III (1/31/2008). Combined, the overall NRHD encompasses almost 200 properties in downtown Apex and over 200 structures. Dates of construction and ownership histories were determined by Wake County Historic Property inventory files at the North Carolina Historic Preservation Office and by deeds listed with the Wake County Register of Deeds Office. All buildings are categorized as either contributing or non-contributing based on set criteria, such as being constructed during the period of significance ending in 1959. Any building constructed after the period of significance, or altered in a way that causes loss of architectural integrity, is categorized as non-contributing. The numbers assigned to each property corresponds with the sequential order of each property listed on the National Register of Historic Places Registration Form.
