These GIS data depict navigational routes commonly used in Florida. Many of these routes are officially designated navigational channels or waterways. Others are just well known but unmarked pathways from one location to another. These data were digitized from NOAA Nautical charts (image files) of various dates and map scales, using most detailed charts for the area and feature of interest. Where depicted on the charts, channel centerlines and waterway routes were followed. Otherwise, AToNs depicted on the charts were used as guides to trace navigation pathways. This data set does not depict all navigational pathways but should serve as a start to a more comprehensive data set.
Geospatial data about Florida Intracoastal Waterway (West). Export to CAD, GIS, PDF, CSV and access via API.
This dataset shows all Intracoastal Waterways maintained by USACE districts in Florida that have completed all or portions of the National Channel Framework through eHydro.
This GIS data set represents Florida's West Coast Intracoastal Waterway and the Everglades Waterway. This coverage was created in 2001 by digitizing 1:40000 and 1:50000 scale NOAA Nautical Charts 11411, 11414, 11425, 11427, 11430, 11432, and 11433 in either paper or digital format. In cases where charts overlapped, the smallest-scale charts were used. Source chart dates range from 1989-1995.
These data were collected by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration National Geodetic Survey Remote Sensing Division using a Riegl VQ820G system. The data were acquired from """+str(colbdate)+""" - """+str(coledate)+""". The data includes topobathy data in an LAS 1.2 format file classified as unclassified (1), ground (2), noise (7), water column (25), bathymetric point (26), toppbathy water surface (27), submerged object (29), and International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) S-57 object (30) in accordance with the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) classification standards. This data set may also include lidar intensity values. Not all delivered data contained the classifications listed above instead, please resort to the attribution below. Outstanding Florida Waters, (OFW), are waters designated worthy of special protection because of their natural attributes. This special designation is applied to certain waters, and is intended to protect and maintain existing acceptable quality standards. The OFW layer is a GIS spatial dataset that represents the OFW boundaries throughout the state of Florida. This project involves adding new data to and modifying existing data within the OFW data layer for better accuracy and representation. Boundaries for Outstanding Florida Waters (OFWs) as described in Section 62-302.700, F.A.C. This layer includes all three types of OFWs: OFW Aquatic Preserves, Special OFWs, and Other OFWs.
These data provide an accurate high-resolution shoreline compiled from imagery of Intracoastal Waterway, St Lucie Inlet to Fort Pierce, FL . This vector shoreline data is based on an office interpretation of imagery that may be suitable as a geographic information system (GIS) data layer. These GIS data were received by FMRI in summer 2001. These data were delivered by Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) in ArcInfo .e00 files broken down by county. These files were merged to form an east coast ICW.
Polygon coverage of major rivers in Florida
These data provide an accurate high-resolution shoreline compiled from lidar and imagery of Intracoastal Waterway, Highland Beach to Lake Park, FL . This vector shoreline data is based on an office interpretation of imagery that may be suitable as a geographic information system (GIS) data layer. This metadata describes information for both the line and point shapefiles. The NGS attribution scheme 'Coastal Cartographic Object Attribute Source Table (C-COAST)' was developed to conform the attribution of various sources of shoreline data into one attribution catalog. C-COAST is not a recognized standard, but was influenced by the International Hydrographic Organization's S-57 Object-Attribute standard so the data would be more accurately translated into S-57. An interdisciplinary and multiagency study was completed to understand harmful algal bloom dynamics by describing the spatial and temporal patterns and drivers of phytoplankton community structure and cyanotoxin and cyanotoxin-gene concentrations in Lake Okeechobee and Okeechobee Waterways in South Florida. The Waterway includes the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie Rivers which drain the lake westward to the Gulf of Mexico and eastward to the Atlantic Ocean, respectively. Algae and cyanobacteria play crucial roles in aquatic ecosystems, but under favorable environmental conditions certain taxa experience population growth booms resulting in harmful algal blooms. Cyanobacteria are considered the most common bloom-formers in freshwaters and can be particularly devastating due to the diversity and potency of the cyanotoxins they can produce. A dataset was compiled that contains phytoplankton community composition and abundance data for 21 sites sampled monthly from March 2019 through October 2021. The 21 sites include 17 sites in Lake Okeechobee and 4 sites along the upper and lower reaches of the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie Rivers. The datafile provides algal identification, enumeration, biovolume, and functional group data at the genus level.
