This is dataset about Serbian papers published in journals indexed in Web of Science collections in the period 2003-2021
We used as "serbian" countries: Serbia, Serbia and Montenegro, Yugoslavia
The terms Serbian researcher and Serbian paper used in this dataset are defined as follows:
Serbian researcher is a researcher affiliated with a Serbian institution,
Serbian paper is a paper with at least one Serbian researcher in the list of authors.
This means that a paper published by a researcher with non-Serbian nationality (i.e. German) working at a Serbian institution is taken into account in the analysis of Serbian papers described in this paper.
Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science (WoS) database was used for data acquisition. We searched Serbian papers in two WoS collections - Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). The search query executed over those collections on 18th of January, 2022.
CU=(%Serbia% OR %Serbia and Montenegro% OR %Yugoslavia%) AND PY=[2003-2021]
We also analyzed the number of articles of Serbian researchers published in journals with an unstable impact factor (IF), i.e. journals which didn’t have an IF before 2008, and had one in some subperiod of 2008-2015, i.e. lost their IF until 2015. The majority of those journals stopped being indexed in Web of Science as a ban for losing the quality or having predatory journal behavior. We found 143 such journals and their ISSNs by using the JCR (Journal citation reports in the period 2007 - 2015).

Research data to accommodate the article "Overlay journals: a study of the current landscape" (https://doi.org/10.1177/09610006221125208)
Identifying the sample of overlay journals was an explorative process (occurring during April 2021 to February 2022). The sample of investigated overlay journals were identified by using the websites of Episciences.org (2021), Scholastica (2021), Free Journal Network (2021), Open Journals (2021), PubPub (2022), and Wikipedia (2021). In total, this study identified 34 overlay journals. Please see the paper for more details about the excluded journal types.
The journal ISSN numbers, manuscript source repositories, first overlay volumes, article volumes, publication languages, peer-review type, licence for published articles, author costs, publisher types, submission policy, and preprint availability policy were observed by inspecting journal editorial policies and submission guidelines found from journal websites. The overlay journals’ ISSN numbers were identified by examining journal websites and cross-checking this information with the Ulrich’s periodicals database (Ulrichsweb, 2021). Journals that published review reports, either with reviewers’ names or anonymously, were classified as operating with open peer-review. Publisher types defined by Laakso and Björk (2013) were used to categorise the findings concerning the publishers. If the journal website did not include publisher information, the editorial board was interpreted to publish the journal.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) field of science classification was used to categorise the journals into different domains of science. The journals’ primary OECD field of sciences were defined by the authors through examining the journal websites.
Whether the journals were indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus, or Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science Core collection’s journal master list was examined by searching the services with journal ISSN numbers and journal titles.
The identified overlay journals were examined from the viewpoint of both qualitative and quantitative journal metrics. The qualitative metrics comprised the Nordic expert panel rankings of scientific journals, namely the Finnish Publication Forum, the Danish Bibliometric Research Indicator and the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers. Searches were conducted from the web portals of the above services with both ISSN numbers and journal titles. Clarivate Analytics’ Journal Citation Reports database was searched with the use of both ISSN numbers and journal titles to identify whether the journals had a Journal Citation Indicator (JCI), Two-Year Impact Factor (IF) and an Impact Factor ranking (IF rank). The examined Journal Impact Factors and Impact Factor rankings were for the year 2020 (as released in 2021).
Journal of environmental biology Impact Factor 2024-2025 - ResearchHelpDesk - Journal of Environmental Biology (JEB) is one of the oldest peer-reviewed research journals published in India since 1980. ORIGINAL DATA SET FOR STUDY OF PUBLICATION AND CITATION TRENDS, TROPICAL MEDICINE, EARLY COVID 19 PANDEMIC. Background: An adequate response to health needs includes the identification of research patterns about the large number of people living in the tropics and subjected to tropical diseases. Studies have shown that research does not always match the real needs of those populations, and that citation reflects mostly the amount of money behind particular publications. Here we test the hypothesis that research from richer institutions is published in better-indexed journals, and thus has greater citation rates. Methods: The data in this study was extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded database; the 2020 journal Impact Factor (IF2020) was updated to 30 June 2021. We considered places, subjects, institutions and journals. Results: We identified 1 041 highly cited articles with 100 citations or more in the category of tropical medicine. About a decade is needed for an article to reach peak citation. Only two Covid-19 related were highly cited in the last three years. Most cited articles were published by the journals Memorias Do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (Brazil), Acta Tropica (Switzerland), and PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases (USA). The USA dominated five of the six publication indicators. International collaboration articles had more citations than single-country articles. The UK, South Africa, and Switzerland had high citation rates, as did the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the USA, and the WHO in Switzerland. Conclusions: About ten years of accumulated citations are needed to get 100 citations or more as highly cited articles in the Web of Science category of tropical medicine. Six publication and citation indicators, including authors’ publication potential and characteristics evaluated by Y-index, indicate that the currently available indexing system places tropical researchers at a disadvantage against their colleagues in temperate countries, and suggest that, to progress towards better control of tropical diseases, international collaboration should increase, and other tropical countries should follow the example of Brazil, which provides significant financing to its scientific community.Julián Monge-Nájera1, and Yuh-Shan Ho2* 1Laboratorio de Ecología Urbana, Vicerrectoría de Investigación, Universidad Estatal a Distancia, 2050 San José, Costa Rica; julianmonge@gmail.com (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7764-2966) *Corresponding author: Trend Research Centre, Asia University, No. 500 Lioufeng Road, Wufeng, Taichung 41354, Taiwan; ysho@asia.edu.tw (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2557-8736) {"references": ["Monge-Najera and Ho. Abstract This study compares the profile of Brazilian and Chinese scientific publications in Information Science indexed in the Web of Science. The specific objectives are: (a) to survey the number of articles published by each country; (b) identify the characteristics of the journals in which the articles are published; and (c) identify the nationality and type of publishers that edit these journals. The Web of Science search yielded 6,417 articles, with 2,005 articles authored by Brazilian institutions and 4,412 articles authored by Chinese institutions. Of these articles, 29.5% of the Brazilian publications and the majority (99.9%) of the Chinese publications were in English. Brazilian production is published in 99 of the 221 journals, while Chinese is published in 122. Different access models were identified for the articles. Specifically, 91% of Chinese publications were accessible via subscription and 76% of the Brazilians via open access. The highest concentration of journals is in England, the United States, and the Netherlands, with an Impact Factor of less than one. Commercial publishers publish most Chinese articles (92.3%) while Brazilian articles are predominantly available through university publishers with open access repositories (72.3%). It is concluded that the scientific production in the field of Information Science from Brazil and China, as indexed in the Web of Science, exhibits diversified strategies. Brazil stands out for the indexing of national journals and publishing articles in Portuguese that are available through Open Access repositories. On the other hand, China is notable for its publication of articles in English, in journals that are already indexed in the Web of Science, and predominantly edited by commercial publishers. A more internationalized production than the Brazilian one, but with greater dependence on the system by the scientific community.

There has been a growing interest and need in the evaluation of the quality and quantity of papers published by researchers. Therefore, the most important measurements are the number of items, the journal impact factor and the h-index. The aim of this paper is to analyze the publications of the professors in the field of Physical Education in Spain and Brazil published in journals in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The method used is a descriptive, comparative and correlational analysis of documents. The sample consisted of 373 publications of professors of which 108 are in the field of Physical Education in Brazil and 265 in the field of Physical Education in Spain. The results indicate that the professors in the field of Physical Education in Spain produced an h-index of 2.6 and 7.4 papers per researcher in Web of Science and an h-index of 3.1 and 9.5 papers per professor in Scopus. Brazilian professors obtained an h-index of 6.05 in Web of Science with a mean of 30.91 papers per researcher and h-index of 7.5 and 37.7 papers per professor in Scopus. Correlations between the number of papers per professor and h-index are high both in the Web of Science and Scopus. The majority of Brazilian and Spanish professors publish in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. Significant differences among professors of different countries were found in the present research.

An academic journal or research journal is a periodical publication in which research articles relating to a particular academic discipline is published, according to Wikipedia. Currently, there are more than 25,000 peer-reviewed journals that are indexed in citation index databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. These indexes are ranked on the basis of various metrics such as CiteScore, H-index, etc. The metrics are calculated from yearly citation data of the journal. A lot of efforts are given to make a metric that reflects the journal's quality.
This is a comprehensive dataset on the academic journals coving their metadata information as well as citation, metrics, and ranking information. Detailed data on their subject area is also given in this dataset. The dataset is collected from the following indexing databases: - Scimago Journal Ranking - Scopus - Web of Science Master Journal List
The data is collected by scraping and then it was cleaned, details of which can be found in HERE.
