Dataset listing and locating counters for City of Paris bicycle counting sites.
A counting site can be equipped with a counter in the case of a one-way cycle lane or two counters in the case of a two-way cycle path.
The City of Paris has been deploying permanent bicycle counters for several years (site or counting point) to assess the development of cycling practice. The counters are located on cycle paths and in certain bus lanes open to bicycles. Other vehicles (ex: scooters…) are not counted.
This dataset is uploaded daily to our partner's API Eco Meter.
L 'Eco Counter API does not natively provide counting by direction, processing by aggregation has been performed for the reconstitute .
You will find here:
- Counter ID
- Counter name
- Count Site ID
- Count site name
- Count site installation date
- Link to photo of counting site
- Geographical coordinates of counting site
The number of counters evolves as cycling facilities are developed. Some counters may be deactivated for works or occasionally suffer a breakdown.
Currently there is no distinction between unidirectional and bidirectional counting sites. Bidirectional sites such as that of Rivoli therefore combine the counts in both directions of traffic.
The count distinguishing traffic directions on equipped sites will come later.
