    Description

    Dataset Overview

This dataset provides detailed information on website traffic, including page views, session duration, bounce rate, traffic source, time spent on page, previous visits, and conversion rate.

    Dataset Description

    • Page Views: The number of pages viewed during a session.
    • Session Duration: The total duration of the session in minutes.
    • Bounce Rate: The percentage of visitors who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page.
    • Traffic Source: The origin of the traffic (e.g., Organic, Social, Paid).
    • Time on Page: The amount of time spent on the specific page.
    • Previous Visits: The number of previous visits by the same visitor.
    • Conversion Rate: The percentage of visitors who completed a desired action (e.g., making a purchase).

    Data Summary

    • Total Records: 2000
    • Total Features: 7

    Key Features

    1. Page Views: This feature indicates the engagement level of the visitors by showing how many pages they visit during their session.
    2. Session Duration: This feature measures the length of time a visitor stays on the website, which can indicate the quality of the content.
    3. Bounce Rate: A critical metric for understanding user behavior. A high bounce rate may indicate that visitors are not finding what they are looking for.
    4. Traffic Source: Understanding where your traffic comes from can help in optimizing marketing strategies.
    5. Time on Page: This helps in analyzing which pages are retaining visitors' attention the most.
    6. Previous Visits: This can be used to analyze the loyalty of visitors and the effectiveness of retention strategies.
    7. Conversion Rate: The ultimate metric for measuring the effectiveness of the website in achieving its goals.

    Usage

This dataset can be used for various analyses such as:

    • Identifying key drivers of engagement and conversion.
    • Analyzing the effectiveness of different traffic sources.
    • Understanding user behavior patterns and optimizing the website accordingly.
    • Improving marketing strategies based on traffic source performance.
    • Enhancing user experience by analyzing time spent on different pages.

    Acknowledgments

This dataset was generated for educational purposes and is not from a real website. It serves as a tool for learning data analysis and machine learning techniques.

    Description

This dataset originates from DataCamp. Many users have reposted copies of the CSV on Kaggle, but most of those uploads omit the original instructions, business context, and problem framing. In this upload, I’ve included that missing context in the About Dataset so the reader of my notebook or any other notebook can fully understand how the data was intended to be used and the intended problem framing.

Note: I have also uploaded a visualization of the workflow I personally took to tackle this problem, but it is not part of the dataset itself. Additionally, I created a PowerPoint presentation based on my work in the notebook, which you can download from here:

    Recipe Site Traffic

    From: Head of Data Science
    Received: Today
Subject: New project from the product team

    Hey!

I have a new project for you from the product team. Should be an interesting challenge. You can see the background and request in the email below.

I would like you to perform the analysis and write a short report for me. I want to be able to review your code as well as read your thought process for each step. I also want you to prepare and deliver the presentation for the product team - you are ready for the challenge!

They want us to predict which recipes will be popular 80% of the time and minimize the chance of showing unpopular recipes. I don't think that is realistic in the time we have, but do your best and present whatever you find.

You can find more details about what I expect you to do here. And information on the data here.

I will be on vacation for the next couple of weeks, but I know you can do this without my support. If you need to make any decisions, include them in your work and I will review them when I am back.

    Good Luck!

From: Product Manager - Recipe Discovery
    To: Head of Data Science
    Received: Yesterday
Subject: Can you help us predict popular recipes?

    Hi,

We haven't met before but I am responsible for choosing which recipes to display on the homepage each day. I have heard about what the data science team is capable of and I was wondering if you can help me choose which recipes we should display on the home page?

At the moment, I choose my favorite recipe from a selection and display that on the home page. We have noticed that traffic to the rest of the website goes up by as much as 40% if I pick a popular recipe. But I don't know how to decide if a recipe will be popular. More traffic means more subscriptions so this is really important to the company.

Can your team: - Predict which recipes will lead to high traffic? - Correctly predict high traffic recipes 80% of the time?

We need to make a decision on this soon, so I need you to present your results to me by the end of the month. Whatever your results, what do you recommend we do next?

Look forward to seeing your presentation.

    Data Information

The product manager has tried to make this easier for us and provided data for each recipe, as well as whether there was high traffic when the recipe was featured on the home page.

As you will see, they haven't given us all of the information they have about each recipe.

You can find the data here.

I will let you decide how to process it, just make sure you include all your decisions in your report.

Don't forget to double check the data really does match what they say - it might not.

    Description

Linear network representing the estimated traffic flows for roads and highways managed by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD). These flows are obtained using a statistical estimation method applied to data from more than 4,500 collection sites spread over the main roads of Quebec. It includes DJMA (annual average daily flow), DJME (summer average daily flow), DJME (summer average daily flow (June, July, August, September) and DJMH (average daily winter flow (December, January, February, March) as well as other traffic data. It is important to note that these values are calculated for total traffic directions. Interactive map: Some files are accessible by querying an à la carte traffic section with a click (the file links are displayed in the descriptive table that is displayed upon click): • Historical aggregate data (PDF) • Annual reports for permanent sites (PDF and Excel) • Hourly data (hourly average per weekday per month) (Excel) This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).

    Description

What is a high quality website? Over the years the whole SEO industry is talking about the need of producing high quality content and top experts came up with the clever quote ‘Content is king’, meaning that content is the success factor of any website. While this is true, does it mean that a website with good content is also a high quality website? The answer is NO. Good content is not enough. It is one of the factors (the most important) that separates low from high quality sites but good content alone does not complete the puzzle of what is considered by Google as a high quality website. Now you can get the high quality on high quality sites like Techtimes, Vanguardngr, Nytimes, Forbes etc. You can also buy Techtimes guest Post at a reasonable price from the best guest post service. What is SEO SEO is short for ‘Search Engine Optimization’. It refers to the process of increasing a websites traffic flow by optimizing several aspects of a website; such as your on-page SEO, technical SEO & off-site SEO,. Your SEO strategy should ideally be planned around your content strategy. For this you will require three elements, 1.) keywords, 2.) links and 3.) substance to piece your content strategy together. Guest Post on High quality sites can improve your SEO ranking. To improve ranking and boost ranking, buy Guest Post on Techtimes from the high quality guest post service. Characteristics of a high quality website A high quality website has the following characteristics: Unique content Content is unique both within the website itself (i.e. each page has unique content and not similar to other pages), but also compared to other websites. Demonstrate Expertise Content is produced by experts based on research and or experience. If for example the subject is health related, then the advice should be provided by qualified authors who can professionally give advice for the particular subject. Unbiased content Content is detail and describes both sides of a story and is not promoting a single product, idea or service. Accessibility A high quality website has versions for non PC users as well. It is important that mobile and tablet users can access the website without any usability issues. Usability Can the user navigate the website easily; is the website user friendly? Attention to detail Content is easy to read with images (if applicable) and free of spelling and grammar mistakes. Does it seem that the owner cares on what is published on the website or is it for the purpose of having content in order to run ads? SEO Optimized Optimizing a web site for search engines has many benefits but it is important not to overdo it. A good quality web site needs to have non-optimized content as well. This is my opinion and although some people may disagree it is a fact that over-optimization can sometimes generate the opposite results. The reason is that algorithms can sometimes interpret over-optimization as an attempt to game the system and they may take measures to prevent this from happening. Balance between content and ads It is not something bad for a website to have ads or promotions but these should not distract the users from finding the information they need. Speed A high quality website loads fast. A fast website will rank higher and create more conventions, sales and loyal readers. Social Social media changed our lives, the way we communicate but also the way we assess quality. It is expected for a good product to have good reviews, Facebook likes and Tweets. Before you make a decision to buy or not, you may examine these social factors as well. Likewise, It is also expected for a good website to be socially accepted and recognized i.e. have Facebook followers, RSS subscribers etc. User Engagement and Interaction Do users spend enough time on the site and read more than one pages before they leave? Do they interact with the content by adding comments, making suggestions, getting into conversations etc.? Better than the competition When you take a specific keyword, is your website better than your competitors? Does it deserve one of the top positions if judged without bias?

    Description

In 2024, Facebook was the leading social media platform in most of the Southeast Asian countries in terms of traffic generation to other websites, with the highest share in Timor-Leste at around 97 percent. YouTube, X (Twitter), Instagram, and Pinterest were other platforms that had significant social media traffic shares in Southeast Asian markets that year. Social media advertising and web traffic referrals Traffic referrals from social media are crucial in social media advertising. Links shared on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter help direct potential customers to a brand’s website or landing page. This increases exposure, website visits, and conversions, such as sales or leads, which are key benefits of social media marketing according to marketers. Traffic referrals also serve as an important tool for advertisers to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns. Furthermore, by analyzing which platforms and content generate the most traffic, businesses can refine their strategies to focus on the highest-performing channels. Social media advertising – a multibillion-dollar business Revenue from social media advertising has continued to rise rapidly. This growth was driven by the ability to track user behavior, refine ad targeting, and deliver highly personalized content. Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok generate billions of dollars of ad revenue annually. The owner of Facebook and Instagram, Meta Platforms’s annual advertising revenue exceeded 160 billion U.S. dollars in 2024. Countries such as China, Japan, and Australia are among the largest social media advertising markets in the Asia-Pacific region, with China’s projected social media ad spend reaching nearly 97 billion U.S. dollars in 2025.

    Description

Roads and Maritime Services, NSW commissioned Bitzios Consulting to undertake a trip generation and parking demand survey and analysis of Car-Based High Density Residential buildings. The Road’s and Maritime Services Guide to Traffic Generating Developments – 2002 (hereafter referred to as the Guide), contains traffic generation and parking demand information based on surveys completed in 1993. This has recently been updated in a 2013 Technical Direction of the Guide based on a 2012 study. Roads and Maritime Services recognised that previous studies have looked at sites generally close to high frequency - high capacity public transport. In recent years there has been a trend towards higher density residential developments along corridors not necessarily well serviced by public transport. Roads and Maritime Services identified that new data is required focusing on residential developments that are considered “Car-Based” due to potential differences in the trip generation and parking generation compared to developments in public transport orientated centres

This layer provides the average number of vehicles and heavy vehicles for the latest year of traffic data available. The traffic volumes in this layer are expressed as the average number of vehicles at each location on a typical weekday (Monday to Friday) for the metropolitan area, and a typical day (Monday to Sunday) for regions outside the metropolitan area.Main Roads undertakes traffic counting throughout Western Australia. Strategic locations are monitored on a continuous basis and are referred to as Network Performance Sites (NPS). Sampling of the wider network is performed using portable equipment over a short period. Although many Local Government roads are counted the focus is on providing information about the State road network. The Integrated Road Information System (IRIS) Reporting Centre provides a number of reports that provide traffic volume and vehicle classification reports.Note that you are accessing this data pursuant to a Creative Commons (Attribution) Licence which has a disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability.
