This Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) GeoPackage (.gpkg) contains water-well point features and associated tables for the state of Minnesota that have been reformatted based on a USGS profile of the OGC GroundWaterML2 (GWML2) standard (https://docs.ogc.org/is/19-013/19-013.html). Additionally, the water-well records have been quality-assured to remove or nullify parts of water-well records found to be erroneous or logically inconsistent, harmonized via the assignment of common data codes in the lithologic log, and supplemented with estimates of transmissivity from the analysis of specific-capacity data. The National Water-Well Database (NWWDB) is a compilation of water-well records from state-managed databases that have been standardized to a common format for consistency across state and administrative boundaries. Water-well completion reports that are submitted to permitting state agencies by licensed drillers constitute a large source of hydrogeologic information, including the ...
Program Background - ADWR has two key groundwater well data sets for the state of Arizona. The 'Wells 55 Registry' corresponds with this WellRegistry GIS layer and contains all wells registered in the state. The database was originally created in 1980 to store registration information submitted by well owners and drillers. It contains over 200,000 well records. A second key well data set is also maintained at ADWR. The Groundwater Well Site Inventory (GWSI), is a statewide database that contains well locations, construction, and water level measurements for wells that have actually been located and sampled in the field (originally by the USGS and since 1990 by ADWR). The GWSI database contains over 45,000 well records. Of those, approximately 24,700 have been ‘matched’ to the Wells 55 Registry and therefore have a 'Wells 55 Registry ID'.Purpose and intended use - This data is used by both internal and external customers and is most commonly used to search for registered wells within the State.Data creation methodologies, processing, and quality - The database was originally created in 1980 to store registration information submitted by well owners and drillers. New wells are added as driller logs and reports are received.Data limitations – Please refer to ADWR Data Disclaimer. This data set contains data submitted by well owners and well drillers. Data availability is therefore limited to data provided by the public. The wells mapped to the centroid of the containing Cadastral (normally Quarter-Quarter-Quarter Section). More precise user-submitted locations are not contained in this GIS layer, however they are stored internally and are available to the public upon request for approximately 20% of the wells.Currency – Updated dailyContact – Manager, Groundwater Permitting and Wells, (602)771-8527Use limitations – Please refer to ADWR Data Disclaimer.Attribute information - programADWR program codeREGISTRY_IDUnique identifier for well record in the Wells 55 Registry database.owner_nameThe registered owner of the wellrgr_pump_dataWas water removed before 2008 or was water received in the last yearwelltypeType of wellwell_type_groupWell Type groupdlic_numMost recent driller's license numberapprovedThe earliest date in which drilling was approvedinstalledThe earliest date of well constructionwell_depthThe depth of the well in feetwater_levelThe reported depth to water in feetcasing_depthThe depth of the well's casing in feetcasing_diameterThe diameter of the well's casing in inchescasing_typeThe type of casing usedpump_typeThe type of pump usedpump_powerThe method of how the pump is poweredpumprateThe rated pumping capacity in gallons per minutetestedrateThe tested pumping capacity in gallons per minutedraw_downThe amount of water that pumping has lowered the water level in feetcompletion_report_statusStatus for reporting the completion level of the well (X-Completed, I-Incomplete, A-Abandoned, N-no report required)drill_logThe driller log's received status (X-Completed, I-Incomplete, A-Abandoned, N-no report required)well_cancelledThis indicates if the well was cancelledCadastralCadastral code indicating township, range, section location information. This feature class is updated every business day using Python scripts and the Well Log database. Please disregard the "Date Updated" field as it does not keep in sync with DWR's internal enterprise geodatabase updates. This feature class contains the location and site attributes of drilled wells in Nevada. Licensed well drillers submit well logs (reports) to NDWR. This information is entered into the Well Log database in SQL Server. Latitude and Longitude coordinates are displayed in GIS format for convenience in identifying wells. Two additional fields are calculated for specific capacity and transmissivity. Specific capacity is yield divided by drawdrawn. Transmissivity is specific capacity times 267. If yield or drawdown fields are blank, specific capacity is blank. You may search for well reports at https://tools.water.nv.gov/WellLogQuery.aspxNevada Administrative Code for Underground Water and Wells

Well lithology records in this layer come from the Department of Environmental Conservation's Water Supply Data Composite. Managed by the Water Resources Section in the Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division, these database reports contain borehole lithology records submitted by Vermont licensed well drillers. Lithologic logs may contain information such as descriptions of materials encountered (e.g., sand, clay, rock, etc.), depth to bedrock, water bearing zones, etc. Data are reported in feet below ground surface. Licensed well drillers have been required to submit well completion reports on a form prepared by the Secretary of the Agency of Natural Resources for each well drilled or modified to the State since 1966. Well tags have been required since 1986. NOTE: the data contained herein are only as accurate as what was submitted to the State of Vermont by licensed well drillers; many wells have been completed but not reported, many reports have missing information, were recorded inaccurately, or poorly located geographically. Data are updated daily.Private Wells from the Well Completion Report Database can be found here: Private Wells
This data set is one of many developed in support of The High Plains Groundwater Availability Project and the U.S. Geological Survey Data Series report: titled Geodatabase Compilation of Hydrogeologic, Remote Sensing, and Water-Budget-Component data for the High Plains aquifer, 2011 (DS 777). This dataset contains point vector data of locations of 16,950 wells and 90,155 well log records located in areas overlying the northern High Plains aquifer in the United States. The northern High Plains aquifer underlies 61.7 million acres (96,400 square miles) in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming. These data were acquired from different sources and synthesized together in one dataset. Included in this dataset is a point feature class (pts_Depth2Bedrock) of elevation values and depth values to the base of the northern High Plains aquifer as well as geospatial coordinates, a table containing a digital version of well logs (tbl_LithologyAggregate) with detailed subsurface material, texture, and sorting.
This Well Completion Report geospatial dataset represents an index to a subset of records available from the California Department of Water Resources' (DWR) Online System for Well Completion Reports (OSWCR). This version of the release contains data from 292,976 well completion reports (WCRs) for water supply wells from Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, Nevada, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Solano, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba counties in California. A subset of WCRs for 5969 wells that are not water supply wells also are included. The California Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Program Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP) did studies of water quality in groundwater resources used by domestic wells in parts of those counties in 2012-2023, and these data were compiled as part of those studies. Ninety-two WCRs from the additional California counties of Trinity, Ventura, Alameda, San Diego, Sierra, Orange, Lassen, Sonoma, Inyo, and Los Angeles have been included because the WCRs were initially incorrectly assigned to one county and are now reported with their correct county assignment. This dataset differs from the data provided in OSWCR because it includes data for some additional fields such as NumberOpenIntervals, USGS_SiteNumber, and SWRCB_DDW_PublicSupplyWell and doesn't include some fields that are in OSWCR, some data attributed in OSWCR were checked for accuracy and updated, and more precise locations were determined for some wells. The additional fields provide more detail about the open or perforated intervals in the well, various identification numbers for the wells, and generalized lithology, and were populated where they could be identified. Some attributes have been provided by cooperating entities as indicated in the REFERENCE field. About 60 percent of the locations are georeferenced to finer resolution based on county Assessor's Parcel Number (APN), 911, or local water authority geospatial datasets. The attributed information is linked to the redacted publicly available Department of Water Resources well completion report image when the link can be resolved. This dataset is for information purposes only. All attribute values should be verified by reviewing the original Well Completion Report. California Water Code Section 13752 allows for the release of redacted copies of well completion reports to the public. New York State registered water well drillers are required to submit completion reports documenting where wells have been drilled, the specifications of those wells, and any subsequent work performed on those wells. Data regarding water wells has been collected since April 2000 as required by ECL 15-1525. Completion reports for the wells are added as they become available. Historical wells are added as the wells are mapped. Well locations are generally accurate to the parcel scale but may not represent the exact location on the property.Service layer is updated annually, and last updated 02/18/2025.For more information see https://dec.ny.gov/environmental-protection/water/water-quantity/water-well-contractor-program1. Water well records contain details of the location, construction, and groundwater level of wells drilled on Prince Edward Island.
These data should not be used as an endpoint for decision making purposes in instances such as spill response or the locating of a well in proximity to other features (e.g., property lines, septic systems, buildings etc.). All well locations should be field verified by the user before decisions are made.
Please note, there may be records in the State’s water well database that do not contain reliable locational information, specifically with respect to the reported latitude and longitude. The database includes entries reported as far back as the 1920s and the accuracy of locational information depends on the type of instruments (e.g., topographic map, address, GPS, etc.) used to record/report the location as well as the diligence of the reporting entity. It is suggested that you review the data using the provided coordinates, the location/address, and the well owner’s name.
Also, municipal well locations and wellhead protection areas are considered confidential under TCA 10-7-504 (a) (21) (A) and Rule 0400-01-01-.01(4)(c), so the location of those data have been redacted from the records provided.
This data release provides updated borehole information to build upon and further refine a three-dimensional (3-D) texture model of valley-fill deposits in the Central Valley created by Faunt and others (2009). This model aids in understanding the aquifer system of the entire valley and will be later utilized in a groundwater flow model. The original database contained approximately 8,500 boreholes and with the addition of new data, the model now contains 14,683 boreholes. The new borehole lithologic data was sourced from the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Online System of Well Completion Reports (OSWCR) and the California Central Valley Groundwater-Surface Water Simulation Model (C2VSim). This dataset contains (1) tabular data of individual borehole general location and construction information, (2) downhole lithologic interval data derived from well driller’s lithology logs and parsed to a series of textural descriptors.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is providing a compilation of geologic well records (n=221) collected from 2014-2020 within the Binghamton East 1:24,000 quadrangle in south-central Broome County, New York. The well records were obtained from: 1) previous U.S. Geological Survey groundwater investigations, 2) the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Water Information System (NWIS), 3) the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Water Well Contractor Program, and 4) the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT). The dataset is in comma-separated values (CSV) format. A companion report, USGS Scientific Investigations Report 2021-5026 (Van Hoesen and others, 2021; https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20215026) further describes data collection and map preparation.

Combined database of all wells with uniform attributes from detailed individual well databases (see General and Entity Attribute sections of metadata for individual shape files). All_wells is intended to serve as a metadata-level well database. Large overlaps are known to exist among databases; however, all are preserved as found in order to preserve program-specific information. For example a well may derive geologic data from the Geologic Sampling Points database, public water supply data from the SDWIS Wells database and Water Allocation information from the Water Use (WACOP) database. Each of these will be represented by a record within All_wells.
