    Digital Data from VG96-526A Ratcliffe, NM�and Burton, WC, 1996,�Digital bedrock geologic map of the Weston quadrangle, Vermont: USGS Open-File Report 96-526, 2 plates, scale 1:24000. The bedrock geologic map data at a scale of 1:24,000 depicts types of bedrock underlying unconsolidated materials in Vermont. Data is created by mapping on the ground using standard geologic pace and compass techniques and/or GPS on a USGS 1:24000 topographic base map. Data may be organized by town, quadrangle or watershed. Each data bundle may includes point, line and polygon data and some or all of the following: 1) contacts (lithogic contacts), 2) fault_brittle, 3) fault_ductile, 4) fault_thrust, 5) fault_bed_plane (bedding plane thrust), 6) bedding, 7) bedding_graded (graded bedding) 8) bedding_overturn (overturned bedding), 9) bedding_select (selected points for published map), 10) foliation_n1, n2, n3 etc (foliation data), 11) outcrop (exposed outcrops), 12) field_station (outcrop and data collection point), 13) fold_axis, 14) axial_plane, 15) lamprophyre, 16) water_well_log (water well driller information), 16) linear_int (intersection lineation), 17) linear_str (stretching lineation) 18) x_section_line (line of cross-section), and photolinear (lineaments identified from air photos).     Cities are formed for the purpose of managing the needs of people who live and work in close quarters. Cities provide basic services, such as streets, law enforcement, and utilities, and enact and enforce ordinances to protect citizens and foster a better city environment. City government in Texas, as in most of the United States, was founded on, and continues to evolve from, the premise that local communities know best how to run their local affairs. There are two major categories of local government in the State of Texas: General Law cities and Home Rule cities. The major distinction between the two is that a General Law city can ONLY do what the legislature, through law, allows them to do. The boundaries for all cities within Fort Bend County are contained in this data. No ETJ data is available.

    The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Western Grove Quadrangle, Arkansas is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (wegr_geology.gdb), and a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (wegr_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (wegr_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats. The OGC geopackage is supported with a QGIS project (.qgz) file. Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format.     This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release updates the digital geospatial database for the southern portion of the geologic map of the western part of the Cut Bank 1 degree x 2 degrees quadrangle, northwestern Montana (Harrison and others, 1998). Attribute tables and geospatial features (points, lines, and polygons) conform to the Geologic Map Schema (USGS NCGMP, 2020). The 899,246-acre map area represents the geology at a publication scale of 1:250,000. Minor errors, such as mistakes in line decoration or differences between the digital data and the map image, are corrected, and missing orientation points are included in this version. The map covers primarily Flathead, Glacier, Pondera, and Teton Counties, but also includes minor parts of Lake County.     In the spring of 2017, the Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Virginia Geographic Information Network Division (herein referred to as VGIN) of the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) contracted with Fugro Geospatial, Inc. to provide aerial data acquisition, ground control, aerial triangulation and development of statewide ortho quality DEM and digital orthophotography data. The Virginia Base Mapping Program (VBMP) update project is divided into three collection phases: In 2017, Fugro flew the eastern third of Virginia at one foot resolution, with options for localities and other interested parties to upgrade resolution or purchase other optional products through the state contract. The middle third of Virginia will be flown in 2018 and the western third in 2019. Ortho products are 1-foot resolution statewide with upgrades to 6-inch resolution tiles and 3-inch resolution tiles in various regions within the project area. The Virginia Base Mapping project encompasses the entire land area of the Commonwealth of Virginia over 4 years. The State boundary is buffered by 1000'. Coastal areas of the State bordering the Atlantic Ocean or the Chesapeake Bay are buffered by 1000' or the extent of man-made features extending from shore. This metadata record describes the generation of new Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and contours generated at 2-foot intervals. All products are being delivered in the North American Datum of 1983 (1986), State Plane Virginia North. The vertical datum was the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) using GEOID12B.

    The data release for the geologic and structure map of the Choteau 1 x 2 degree quadrangle, western Montana, is a Geologic Map Schema (GeMS)-compliant version that updates the GIS files for the geologic map published in U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map I-1300 (Mudge and others, 2001). The updated digital data present the attribute tables and geospatial features (lines and polygons) in the format that meets GeMS requirements. This data release presents geospatial data for the geologic map that is published as two plates. Minor errors, such as mistakes in line decoration or differences between the digital data and the map image, are corrected in this version. The database represents the geology for the 4.2 million acre, geologically complex Choteau 1 x 2 degree quadrangle, at a publication scale of 1:250,000. The map covers primarily Lewis and Clark, Teton, Powell, Missoula, Lake, and Flathead Counties, but also includes minor parts of Cascade County.     Vector datasets of CWHR range maps are one component of California Wildlife Habitat Relationships (CWHR), a comprehensive information system and predictive model for Californias wildlife. The CWHR System was developed to support habitat conservation and management, land use planning, impact assessment, education, and research involving terrestrial vertebrates in California. CWHR contains information on life history, management status, geographic distribution, and habitat relationships for wildlife species known to occur regularly in California. Range maps represent the maximum, current geographic extent of each species within California. They were originally delineated at a scale of 1:5,000,000 by species-level experts and have gradually been revised at a scale of 1:1,000,000.     Description

    The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 17 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Western Canada Foreland Basin, Figure 2, Kootenay/Nikanassin/Minnes Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

    Description

    Range polygons may include areas not currently occupied by a species and, conversely, may omit areas potentially used by a species. The boundary delineations are primarily based on ecoregion subsections (USDA F.S., Ecomap Subsections 2007), watersheds (USGS HUC12) and 10 Kilometer occurrence buffers. The ecoregions subsections and hucs were combined and will heretofore be referred to as "ecohuc"s.

    Criteria used to delineate range boundaries:

    1. Select all occupied ecohucs.

    2. Buffer species occurrences by 10 Kilometers (per maximum buffer distance suggested by scientific literature).

    3. If occurrence buffer extends outside a selected subsection, expand subsection boundary to incorporate buffer or ecohuc after assessing vegetational characteristics with subject matter experts.

    4. If non-selected subsection is surrounded by selected subsections, incorporate non-selected subsections into species range.

    5. Clip species range by California State boundary.

    6. Merge ecoregion subsections to create a seamless species range polygon.

    EcomapSubsections 2007 - Metadata

    The Ecomap Subsections feature class contains ecological subsection polygons attributed with subsection names and descriptions. The EcomapSubsections 2007 data set describes the ecological subsections within the conterminous United States. It contains regional geographic delineations for analysis of ecological relationships across ecological units. ECOMAP is the term used for a USDA Forest Service initiative to map ecological units and encourage their use in ecosystem-based approaches to forest land conservation and management. This is a collaborative effort with many partners. It is coordinated at the national and regional levels by USDA Forest Service staff and implemented in cooperation with State forestry agencies and others. ECOMAP mapping criteria are outlined in the National Hierarchical Framework of Ecological Units (https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5286434.pdf). The framework systematically divides the country into progressively smaller areas of land and water that have similar physical and biological characteristics and ecological processes.

    The Air, Water, and Aquatic Environments (AWAE) research program is one of eight Science Program areas within the Rocky Mountain Research Station (RMRS). Our science develops core knowledge, methods, and technologies that enable effective watershed management in forests and grasslands, sustain biodiversity, and maintain healthy watershed conditions. We conduct basic and applied research on the effects of natural processes and human activities on watershed resources, including interactions between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. The knowledge we develop supports management, conservation, and restoration of terrestrial, riparian and aquatic ecosystems and provides for sustainable clean air and water quality in the Interior West. With capabilities in atmospheric sciences, soils, forest engineering, biogeochemistry, hydrology, plant physiology, aquatic ecology and limnology, conservation biology and fisheries, our scientists focus on two key research problems: Core watershed research quantifies the dynamics of hydrologic, geomorphic and biogeochemical processes in forests and rangelands at multiple scales and defines the biological processes and patterns that affect the distribution, resilience, and persistence of native aquatic, riparian and terrestrial species.
