This dataset contains information on export applications received for Intra-union trade, exports to Third Countries and exports for National Trade (Northern Ireland) of live animals. The dataset contains columns for the Export Health Certificate (EHC) issued, the date the application was received, the date of export, the commodity type, the species of animal, any transit countries en route to the destination country and the destination country of export. Where the EHC column contains a reference to 2011/214 or 2011/879 the export is for Intra-union trade to a Member State of the European Union under Council Directives 2009/158/EC (as amended). Where the EHC column contains a reference to 92/65 the export is for Intra-union trade to a Member State of the European Union under Council Directives 92/65/EEC (as amended). These will include Intra-union trade certificates where the final destination was to a Third Country but the live animal transited the EU en route and was therefore required to have Intra-union trade certification issued as well as an EHC. Where the EHC column contains the words 'Non harmonised' the export was to a Member State of the EU but does not fall under any harmonised EU legislation for trade and therefore agreement to export using a Non harmonised EHC was received from the destination Member State. The dataset is for live animal exports where the loading address was in England only. Attribution statement: ©Crown Copyright, APHA 2016
