This dataset presents information concerning 8- and 10-digit trade codes related to the rechargeable lithium-ion battery (LIB) supply chain for the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the European Union, and the United States as classified by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rulings. Note that this dataset is not intended to be a complete or comprehensive list of trade codes for the LIB supply chain; rather, it presents trade codes from the PRC and the EU that more granularly classify products related to LIB supply chain in comparison to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS). CBP rulings are included to indicate existing classification decisions for relevant products related to the LIB supply chain. Disaggregated trade codes offer more detailed insight into trade flows, supply chains, and the state of domestic and international industries. The dataset covers raw materials, refined and processed materials, battery materials, cell components, batteries and battery components, end-of-life batteries, and machinery. Tariff line information was assembled through conversations with experts and reviews of supply chain process flows in concert with an examination of trade databases, domestic trade documentation, and primary international customs import and export tariff documents.

Challenging visions of the U.S. national security “Establishment” as either hamstrung by ideological homogeneity bordering on groupthink, or riven by irreconcilable party political divisions, we deploy Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) to uncover empirically the structure of the China segment of the U.S. national security community. MCA—a form of geometric data analysis—finds latent structures in categorical datasets. Using an original dataset of organizations with a strong presence on China issues, we show that the China organizational field is far from homogenous, but is split less between Left and right than over degree of political engagement, separating older think tanks and cultural organizations from business-focused research and consulting firms, and academic/research institutions from outside politically-oriented groups located primarily within the Beltway. We explore our findings using the Trump and Obama administrations’ choice of locations to give speeches and remarks on U.S-China relations.

The development of deep segmentation models for computational pathology (CPath) can help foster the investigation of interpretable morphological biomarkers. Yet, there is a major bottleneck in the success of such approaches because supervised deep learning models require an abundance of accurately labelled data. This issue is exacerbated in the field of CPath because the generation of detailed annotations usually demands the input of a pathologist to be able to distinguish between different tissue constructs and nuclei. Manually labelling nuclei may not be a feasible approach for collecting large-scale annotated datasets, especially when a single image region can contain thousands of different cells. Yet, solely relying on automatic generation of annotations will limit the accuracy and reliability of ground truth. Therefore, to help overcome the above challenges, we propose a multi-stage annotation pipeline to enable the collection of large-scale datasets for histology image analysis, with pathologist-in-the-loop refinement steps. Using this pipeline, we generate the largest known nuclear instance segmentation and classification dataset, containing nearly half a million labelled nuclei in H&E stained colon tissue. We will publish the dataset and encourage the research community to utilise it to drive forward the development of downstream cell-based models in CPath.
