TwitterOpenLCA Nexus is an online repository for LCA data. It combines data offered by world-leading LCA data providers such as PE International (GaBi databases), the ecoinvent centre (ecoinvent), or the Joint Research Centre from the European Commission (ELCD).
This website contains a powerful search engine for LCA data that allows filtering requested data sets by database, or by year, geographical location, by industrial sector, and by product and price. Nexus contains free and “for purchase” data sets.

This dataset contains the complete inventory data for direct import and re-use in LCA software (ILCD and JSON-ID format; exported from openLCA), together with a short manual about the import and use of the provided LCI datasets in openLCA. Additionally, the modified and parametrized LCI data are also provided in tabulated form (supplementary information document). The LCI data are based on ecoinvent 3.71., and eventually require update for use with more recenzt ei databases (re-linking of providers / flows). Import into openLCA using the JSON-LD format should maintain all default providers except those that suffered changes between the ei versions

TwitterThe organisational life cycle assessment (OLCA) and the social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU were conducted. Bueno et al. (2021) used this dataset for the calculation of the environmental and social footprint of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU for year 2016.
This dataset provides detailed information on the UPV/EHU and the boundaries considered; on the compilation and quantification of the life cycle inventory (LCI), which included a transport survey conducted in summer 2018; and on the modelling process followed for the calculation of the environmental and social footprints, based on the Ecoinvent 3.3 database and PSILCA-based Soca v1 add-on, and carried out with the openLCA free software. The dataset also includes the life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) results provided by the CML (baseline, 2015) and ReCiPe (endpoint (H), 2008) LCIA methods and post-processed social impacts provided by the Social Impacts Weighting Method, disaggregated by subprocesses and impact locations. Data is provided for the reference year (2016), and some aggregated data is also provided for alternative scenarios that were explored in order to check pathways to reduce social and environmental impacts of the academic activity of the UPV/EHU.
This dataset may be used as a reference for future calculations of the environmental and social footprint of higher education institutions and other organisations.

This update contains the inventory data as described in the underlying corrigendum to the original publication from 2018 for direct import and re-use in LCA software (JSON-LD format; exported from openLCA). The LCI data are updated to ecoinvent 3.71., and the error in the electrolyte model is corrected (V2O5 content was double in the original dataset, overstimating the corresponding environmental impacts). Import into openLCA using the JSON-LD format should maintain all default providers except those that suffered changes between the ei versions

A life cycle assessment (LCA) of the entire high speed rail (HSR) network in Spain was completed. Life cycle inventory (LCI) data related to the construction and maintenance phases of the infrastructure was collected using Google Earth tool, and complemented with data obtained from other LCA studies. LCI data associated with the operation phase of the infrastructure was built on available fragmentary data on passenger movements for the year 2016, processed with a python algorithm to estimate the transport service provided by the infrastructure. Environmental impacts for transport modes were obtained from Ecoinvent v3.7 database and processed with openLCA software. Life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) results gathered in the dataset include Global Warming (GWP100a), Cumulative Energy Demand and total emissions for PM10, SO2, NOX and NMVOC. This dataset presents a detailed description of the Spanish HSR network, including the length of each item (bridges, tunnels, earthworks, railway tracks), and a robust estimation of passenger transport over the infrastructure for year 2016.

The life-cycle assessment (LCA) methodology was used to assess and compare the environmental performance of biodegradable packaging in two end-of-life processing treatments: industrial composting and industrial incineration. It was conducted according to the guidelines ISO 14040 (2006) using OpenLCA v2 and the Ecoinvent® 3.0.1 database.

TwitterThis upload contains the Supplementary Information file and the underlying data as Excel-file for the referenced Journal article ("Hourly marginal electricity mixes and their relevance for assessing the environmental performance of installations with variable load or power") More specifically, it provides time series of the Spanish electricity generation mix for the year 2021 for energy system analysis (as used as basis for the underlying publication), including imports and environmental impacts of the hourly generation mix for all EF3.0 impact categories (Marginal_Electricity_Results_Analysis_2021_V17.xls) a spreadshhet calculator for determining the average and marginal hourly benefits of a generator with variable load (a PV installation, but the generation profile can be substituted by any other) Load-Gen_Balancing_V15.xlsm life cycle inventory data for import into openLCA and re-use in combination with the ecoinvent databse (Version 3.7.1). Further details are available on request to the main author.

This document provides the Life-Cycle Inventory of the study comparing the environmental performance of the restoration (Scenario 1, also mentioned as "S1") or renovation (Scenario 2, "S2") of a traditional Danish farmer house. The LCI is used as input for the life-cycle impact assessment phase in the LCA where the inputs and outputs of elementary flows in the LCI are characterized as potential impacts on the environment. The LCI is based on primary data from the "Apprentices' House" combined with secondary data from materials specific environmental product declaration and the large LCI database ecoinvent v3.
The file contains several spreadsheets organized as follows:
Thicknesses,S1 - Reports the materials and their corresponding thicknesses used for walls, ceilings, floors and insulation in S1
Thicknesses, S1b - Reports the materials and their corresponding thicknesses used for walls, ceilings, floors and insulation in S1b
Thicknesses, S1c - Reports the materials and their corresponding thicknesses used for walls, ceilings, floors and insulation in S1c
Thicknesses, S2 - Reports the materials and their corresponding thicknesses used for walls, ceilings, floors and insulation in S2
Surfaces - Reports the area of all surfaces of the house (walls, ceilings, floors) for all scenarios.
Bill of materials - Sums up the list and quantity of all the materials used in all scenarios, providing details as to the quantity kept from the actual house, as well as the new input and output of materials during the restoration/renovation
Heat loss, S1 - Provides details for the calculation of heat loss through the building envelope of the house in Scenario 1
Heat loss, S1b - Provides details for the calculation of heat loss through the building envelope of the house in Scenario 1b
Heat loss, S1c - Provides details for the calculation of heat loss through the building envelope of the house in Scenario 1c
Heat loss, S2 - Provides details for the calculation of heat loss through the building envelope of the house in Scenario 2
Parameters - Describes the main parameters used in the LCI and their corresponding uncertainty
LCI Materials - Provides the full breakdown of the processes created and used for the LCI modelling on OpenLCA
LCI Building - Provides the full breakdown of the processes created and used for the LCI modelling on OpenLCA
