Results for OnSIS and Statistics Canada variables are suppressed based on school population size to better protect student privacy. In order to achieve this additional level of protection, the Ministry has used a methodology that randomly rounds a percentage either up or down depending on school enrolment. In order to protect privacy, the ministry does not publicly report on data when there are fewer than 10 individuals represented. * Percentages depicted as 0 may not always be 0 values as in certain situations the values have been randomly rounded down or there are no reported results at a school for the respective indicator. * Percentages depicted as 100 are not always 100, in certain situations the values have been randomly rounded up. The school enrolment totals have been rounded to the nearest 5 in order to better protect and maintain student privacy. The information in the School Information Finder is the most current available to the Ministry of Education at this time, as reported by schools, school boards, EQAO and Statistics Canada. As of January 26, 2023, the population counts are based on Statistics Canada’s 2021 estimates. The coverage methodology has been revised to calculate age based on the current date and deceased individuals are no longer included. The method used to count daily dose administrations has changed is now based on the date delivered versus the day entered into the data system. Historical data has been updated.

Additional notes

• Data entry of vaccination records is still in progress, therefore the dosage data may not be a full representation of all vaccination doses administered in Ontario.
• The data does not include dosage data where consent was not provided for vaccination records to be entered into the provincial CoVax system. This includes individual records as well as records from some Indigenous communities where those communities have not consented to including vaccination information into CoVax.

Hospitalizations and cases by vaccination status

Hospitalizations

• This is a new data collection and the data quality will continue to improve as hospitals continue to submit data.
• In order to understand the vaccination status of patients currently hospitalized, a new data collection process was developed and this may cause discrepancies between other hospitalization numbers being collected using a different data collection process.
• Data on patients in ICU are being collected from two different data sources with different extraction times and public reporting cycles. The existing data source (Critical Care Information System, CCIS) does not have vaccination status.
• Historical data for hospitalizations by region may change over time as hospitals update previously entered data.
• Due to incomplete weekend and holiday reporting, vaccination status data for hospital and ICU admissions is not updated on Sundays, Mondays and the day after holidays
• Unvaccinated is defined as not having any dose, or between 0-13 days after administration of the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
• Partially vaccinated is defined as 14 days or more after the first dose of a 2-dose series COVID-19 vaccine, or between 0-13 days after administration of the second dose
• Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days or more after receipt of the second dose of a 2-dose series COVID-19 vaccine

Cases

• The cases by vaccination status may not match the daily COVID-19 case count because records with a missing or invalid health card number cannot be linked.

Contained within the 3rd Edition (1957) of the Atlas of Canada is a plate that shows the distribution of population in what is now Canada circa 1851, 1871, 1901, 1921 and 1941. The five maps display the boundaries of the various colonies, provinces and territories for each date. Also shown on these five maps are the locations of principal cities and settlements. These places are shown on all of the maps for reference purposes even though they may not have been in existence in the earlier years. Each map is accompanied by a pie chart providing the percentage distribution of Canadian population by province and territory corresponding to the date the map is based on. It should be noted that the pie chart entitled Percentage Distribution of Total Population, 1851, refers to the whole of what was then British North America. The name Canada in this chart refers to the province of Canada which entered confederation in 1867 as Ontario and Quebec. The other pie charts, however, show only percentage distribution of population in what was Canada at the date indicated. Three additional graphs are included on this plate and show changes in the distribution of the population of Canada from 1867 to 1951, changes in the percentage distribution of the population of Canada by provinces and territories from 1867 to 1951 and elements in the growth of the population of Canada for each ten-year period from 1891 to 1951.

This table provides quarterly estimates of the number of non-permanent residents by type for Canada, provinces and territories.

The term Métis is broadly used in Canada to designate people who have both European and First Nations ancestors. Two-thirds of the Métis population of Canada (210 000 persons) live on the Prairies. In 1996, there were 51 000 Métis enumerated in Alberta, 46 000 in Manitoba and 36 600 in Saskatchewan, representing in total, over a third of the Aboriginal population of the Prairie Provinces. Thirteen per cent of the Métis population of Canada lives in British Columbia and a total of 18% lives in Ontario and Quebec.

This dataset provides the latest reported value for - Canada Food Inflation - plus previous releases, historical high and low, short-term forecast and long-term prediction, economic calendar, survey consensus and news.

Contained within the 3rd Edition (1957) of the Atlas of Canada is a plate that shows two condensed maps, and three sets of graphs to show population change for the period 1851 to 1951. The top map shows the percent changes in population in eastern Canada for the period 1851 to 1901 (Newfoundland data is for 1857 to 1901). The bottom map shows the percent changes in population for Canada for the period 1901 to 1951 (Northwest Territories data is for 1911 to 1951). The first set of graphs show birth, death and natural increase rates per 1000 population for the period 1931 to 1951 for Canada and the provinces. The second set shows the changes in density of population for the period 1851 to 1951 for Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, the Western Provinces and Canada. The third graph shows the percent increase in Canada's total population by decade for the period 1851 to 1951.
