    Description

This dataset presents information from G16 – Highest year of school completed by age by sex in Australia based on the general community profile from the 2021 Census. It contains characteristics of persons, families, and dwellings by Local Government Areas (LGA), 2021, from the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Edition 3.

This dataset is part of a set of web services based on the 2021 Census. It can be used as a tool for researching, planning, and analysis. The data is based on place of usual residence (that is, where people usually live, rather than where they were counted on Census night), unless otherwise stated.

Small random adjustments have been made to all cell values to protect the confidentiality of respondents. These adjustments may cause the sum of rows or columns to differ by small amounts from table totals. For further information see the 2021 Census Privacy Statement, Confidentiality, and Introduced random error/perturbation.

    Description

This dataset contains statistics for deaths and mortality in Australia. It includes all deaths that occurred and were registered in Australia, including deaths of persons whose place of usual residence was overseas. Deaths of Australian residents that occurred outside Australia may be registered by individual Registrars, but are not included in Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) death statistics.

Standardised death rates in this dataset differ from those in the ABS.Stat datasets and commentary. Standardised death rates in this dataset are averaged using data for the three years ending in the reference year. They are calculated for each calendar year and then averaged. Standardised death rates in the ABS.Stat datasets and commentary are based on death registration data for the reference year only. Null values represent data not available for publication

This dataset uses deaths and estimated resident population (ERP) for Local Government Areas (LGA) of Australia for 30 June 2012 to 2020, according to the 2020 edition of the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS). ERP is final for 2012 to 2016, revised for 2017 to 2019 and preliminary for 2020, based on the 2016 Census of Population and Housing. Data has been sourced from the September 2021 release.

For more information including which ERP was used in this dataset please visit the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Explanatory Notes.

AURIN has spatially enabled the original data from the ABS with the 2020 LGA boundaries. The original dataset was shipped from the ABS with incorrect codes (LGA19 instead of LGA20). AURIN has modified these codes to reflect the correct LGA 2020 aggregation.

    Description

This dataset presents the Estimated Value of Agricultural Operations in Australia by Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2), from the 2015-2016 Agricultural Census. Data is aggregated to 2011 ASGS SA2 boundaries.

The Agricultural Census is conducted once every five years. The scope of the 2015-16 Agricultural Census was all businesses undertaking agricultural activity recorded on the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Business Register (ABSBR) above a minimum threshold applied to the estimated value of their agricultural operations. The threshold for the 2015-16 Agricultural Census was all agricultural businesses with an Estimated Value of Agricultural Operations (EVAO) of $40,000 or greater. This is a change from previous ABS Rural Environment and Agricultural Collections, where a EVAO threshold of $5,000 or greater was used. As a result of the change in scope, the estimates from the 2015-16 Agricultural Census will not be directly comparable to previously published Agricultural Censuses or annual Rural Environment and Agricultural Commodity Survey outputs. The 2015-16 Census final estimates are based on the achieved target response rate of 85% from an in-scope population of approximately 103,400 agricultural businesses.

The estimates in this dataset are based on information obtained from agricultural businesses that responded to the 2015-16 Agricultural Census. However, since not all of the businesses that were selected provided data, the estimates are subject to sampling variability; that is, they may differ from the figures that would have been produced if information had been collected from all businesses. Most published estimates have relative standard errors (RSEs) less than 10%. For some states and territories with limited production of certain commodities, RSEs are greater than 10%. Estimates with an RSE greater than 50% are considered too unreliable for general use and hence have been removed from the data.

This data is ABS data (catalogue number: 7121.0) used with permission from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

For more information on the dataset please visit the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

    Please note:

    • Estimates with an RSE value greater than 50% and are considered too unreliable for general use and have been removed from the data

    • Where data was not published or not applicable the records have been set to null

    Description

This dataset presents information from G01 – Selected person characteristics by sex in Australia based on the general community profile from the 2021 Census. It contains characteristics of persons, families, and dwellings by Statistical Areas Level 2 (SA2), 2021, from the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Edition 3.
