Findings from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Survey for England.
This dataset is derived from reports to Public Health England (PHE) of infectious disease outbreaks in care homes. Care homes in this dataset refers to all supported living facilities such as residential homes, nursing homes, rehabilitation units and assisted living units.
The tables in this publication provide the latest management information on suspected or confirmed outbreaks of COVID-19 for upper tier local authorities, lower tier local authorities, government office regions and PHE centres.
Any individual care home will only be included in the dataset once. If a care home has reported more than one outbreak, only the first is included in this dataset.
As the details of an outbreak are investigated data will be subject to revision and the numbers in this dataset may change in future publications.
This dataset contains no indication of whether the reported outbreaks are still active.
Each weekly total refers to reports in the period Monday to the following Sunday.
As the COVID-19 situation in England continues to evolve, the previous report providing management information on care home outbreaks is no longer appropriate. Therefore, this publication ceased on 23 July 2020.
PHE continues to share all relevant case and outbreak data with local authorities and other stakeholders regularly and is developing additional integrated tools to support their ongoing need for intelligence. The COVID-19 surveillance report is published weekly.

The data source for this dataset is the NI Vaccine Management System (VMS). VMS holds vaccination reports for COVID-19 and influenza vaccines which were either administered in NI or to NI residents. This dataset is an aggregated summary of COVID-19 vaccinations recorded in VMS. It is effectively a day-by-day count of living people vaccinated by dose, age band (on the day that the dataset was extracted from VMS) and LGD of residence. Aggregated summary data from VMS is published daily to the NI COVID-19 Vaccinations Dashboard. This dataset is updated weekly and allows NI vaccination coverage to be included in the GOV.UK Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK dashboard.
This document provides the summary statistics from a subset of data collected from a YouGov survey conducted in Nov 2020. The data covers respondents answers to questions about: level of public trust in scientists and scientific information about the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 and November 2020; views about the communication of scientific uncertainty; views about whether public information is an accurate representation of coronavirus science; views about whether the impact of coronavirus science had had a positive or negative effect on the response; views about confidence in the accuracy of coronavirus science; whether scientists all agreed about coronavirus science; and whether coronavirus science was available and accessible to everyone. The sample comprised 2,025 individuals living in England, with key characteristics of respondents including: age, gender, ethnicity, whether they were a carer, a keyworker, whether they had had advice to shield from the NHS, and whether they believed they had had coronavirus. This data forms the basis of the descriptive statistics paper titled "Public views of coronavirus science and scientists: findings from a cross-sectional survey." The dataset contains a daily situation update on COVID-19, the epidemiological curve and the global geographical distribution (EU/EEA and the UK, worldwide).
On 12 February 2020, the novel coronavirus was named severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) while the disease associated with it is now referred to as COVID-19. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, ECDC’s Epidemic Intelligence team has been collecting on daily basis the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths, based on reports from health authorities worldwide. To insure the accuracy and reliability of the data, this process is being constantly refined. This helps to monitor and interpret the dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic not only in the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), but also worldwide. Every day between 6.00 and 10.00 CET, a team of epidemiologists screens up to 500 relevant sources to collect the latest figures. The data screening is followed by ECDC’s standard epidemic intelligence process for which every single data entry is validated and documented in an ECDC database. An extract of this database, complete with up-to-date figures and data visualisations, is then shared on the ECDC website, ensuring a maximum level of transparency.
ECDC switched to a weekly reporting schedule for the COVID-19 situation worldwide and in the EU/EEA and the UK on 17 December 2020. Hence, all daily updates have been discontinued from 14 December. The weekly data can be found in the dataset COVID-19 Coronavirus data - weekly (from 17 December 2020).

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) Press Briefings Corpus is a work in progress to collect and present in a machine readable text dataset of the daily briefings from around the world by government authorities. During the peak of the pandemic, most countries around the world informed their citizens of the status of the pandemic (usually involving an update on the number of infection cases, number of deaths) and other policy-oriented decisions about dealing with the health crisis, such as advice about what to do to reduce the spread of the epidemic.Usually daily briefings did not occur on a Sunday.At the moment the dataset includes:

The Covid Winter Grant (CWG) was a fund provided by the Department for Work and Pensions and administered by local authorities in England.The purpose of the grant was to support those households which had been economically affected by the COVID pandemic and sought to provide immediate short term relief in the form of awards to these people.The criteria for allocation of funds was dictated by the DWP and awards could be given to support the provision of food, payments of energy and water bills and other essential items required during the winter period.The scheme ran from the 1st December 2020 through to 31st March 2021.The data provided in this set highlights how Leicester City Council distributed the grant received showing the number of awards made, number of rejections and spend under the DWP categories.This grant was also used to directly fund the provision of Free School Meals during the school holidays (Christmas break and February half term break) and this is highlighted in the dataset under "Direct Awards".The dataset also shows a map detailing how the fund was distributed across the wards of Leicester and there is also a supporting data set named "COVID Winter Grant Ward Data" which also provides this more granular information.
The Evidence for Equality National Survey (EVENS) is a national survey that documents the experiences and attitudes of ethnic and religious minorities in Britain. EVENS was developed by the Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity (CoDE) in response to the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 and is the largest and most comprehensive survey of the lives of ethnic and religious minorities in Britain for more than 25 years. EVENS used pioneering, robust survey methods to collect data in 2021 from 14,200 participants of whom 9,700 identify as from an ethnic or religious minority. The EVENS main dataset, which is available from the UK Data Service under SN 9116, covers a large number of topics including racism and discrimination, education, employment, housing and community, health, ethnic and religious identity, and social and political participation.

Estimates of the risk of hospital admission for coronavirus (COVID-19) and death involving COVID-19 by vaccination status, overall and by age group, using anonymised linked data from Census 2021. Experimental Statistics.
Outcome definitions
For this analysis, we define a death as involving COVID-19 if either of the ICD-10 codes U07.1 (COVID-19, virus identified) or U07.2 (COVID-19, virus not identified) is mentioned on the death certificate. Information on cause of death coding is available in the User Guide to Mortality Statistics. We use date of occurrance rather than date of registration to give the date of the death.
We define COVID-109 hospitalisation as an inpatient episode in Hospital Episode Statistics where the primary diagnosis was COVID-19, identified by the ICD-19 codes (COVID-19, virus identified) or U07.2 (COVID-19, virus not identified). Where an individual had experienced more than one COVID-19 hospitalisation, the earliest that occurred within the study period was used. We define the date of COVID-19 hospitalisation as the start of the hospital episode.

This mapping tool enables you to see how COVID-19 deaths in your area may relate to factors in the local population, which research has shown are associated with COVID-19 mortality. It maps COVID-19 deaths rates for small areas of London (known as MSOAs) and enables you to compare these to a number of other factors including the Index of Multiple Deprivation, the age and ethnicity of the local population, extent of pre-existing health conditions in the local population, and occupational data. Research has shown that the mortality risk from COVID-19 is higher for people of older age groups, for men, for people with pre-existing health conditions, and for people from BAME backgrounds. London boroughs had some of the highest mortality rates from COVID-19 based on data to April 17th 2020, based on data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Analysis from the ONS has also shown how mortality is also related to socio-economic issues such as occupations classified ‘at risk’ and area deprivation. There is much about COVID-19-related mortality that is still not fully understood, including the intersection between the different factors e.g. relationship between BAME groups and occupation. On their own, none of these individual factors correlate strongly with deaths for these small areas. This is most likely because the most relevant factors will vary from area to area. In some cases it may relate to the age of the population, in others it may relate to the prevalence of underlying health conditions, area deprivation or the proportion of the population working in ‘at risk occupations’, and in some cases a combination of these or none of them.
