    This dataset is part of the Geographical repository maintained by Opendatasoft. This dataset contains data for counties and equivalent entities in United States of America. The primary legal divisions of most states are termed counties. In Louisiana, these divisions are known as parishes. In Alaska, which has no counties, the equivalent entities are the organized boroughs, city and boroughs, municipalities, and for the unorganized area, census areas. The latter are delineated cooperatively for statistical purposes by the State of Alaska and the Census Bureau. In four states (Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia), there are one or more incorporated places that are independent of any county organization and thus constitute primary divisions of their states. These incorporated places are known as independent cities and are treated as equivalent entities for purposes of data presentation. The District of Columbia and Guam have no primary divisions, and each area is considered an equivalent entity for purposes of data presentation. The Census Bureau treats the following entities as equivalents of counties for purposes of data presentation: Municipios in Puerto Rico, Districts and Islands in American Samoa, Municipalities in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands.     The 2022 cartographic boundary shapefiles are simplified representations of selected geographic areas from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). These boundary files are specifically designed for small-scale thematic mapping. When possible, generalization is performed with the intent to maintain the hierarchical relationships among geographies and to maintain the alignment of geographies within a file set for a given year. Geographic areas may not align with the same areas from another year. Some geographies are available as nation-based files while others are available only as state-based files.     This dataset represents point locations of cities and towns in Arizona. The data contains point locations for incorporated cities, Census Designated Places and populated places. Several data sets were used as inputs to construct this data set. A subset of the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) national dataset for the state of Arizona was used for the base location of most of the points. Polygon files of the Census Designated Places (CDP), from the U.S. Census Bureau and an incorporated city boundary database developed and maintained by the Arizona State Land Department were also used for reference during development. Every incorporated city is represented by a point, originally derived from GNIS. Some of these points were moved based on local knowledge of the GIS Analyst constructing the data set. Some of the CDP points were also moved and while most CDP's of the Census Bureau have one point location in this data set, some inconsistencies were allowed in order to facilitate the use of the data for mapping purposes. Population estimates were derived from data collected during the 2010 Census. During development, an additional attribute field was added to provide additional functionality to the users of this data. This field, named 'DEF_CAT', implies definition category, and will allow users to easily view, and create custom layers or datasets from this file. For example, new layers may created to include only incorporated cities (DEF_CAT = Incorporated), Census designated places (DEF_CAT = Incorporated OR DEF_CAT = CDP), or all cities that are neither CDP's or incorporated (DEF_CAT= Other). This data is current as of February 2012. At this time, there is no planned maintenance or update process for this dataset.This data is created to serve as base information for use in GIS systems for a variety of planning, reference, and analysis purposes. This data does not represent a legal record.

    Drinking water services in the U.S. are critical for public health and economic development but face technical, political, and administrative challenges. Understanding the root cause of these challenges and how to overcome them is hindered by the lack of integrative, comprehensive data about drinking water systems and the communities they serve. The Municipal Drinking Water Database (MDWD) fills a critical gap by combining financial, institutional, political, and system conditions of U.S. municipalities and their community water systems (CWS) to enable researchers and practitioners interested in viewing or tracking drinking water spending, the financial condition of city governments, or myriad demographic, political, institutional, and physical characteristics of U.S. cities and their drinking water systems to access the data quickly and easily. The MDWD focuses on municipally owned and operated CWS, which are ubiquitous and play a critical role in ensuring safe, affordable drinking water services for most Americans. They also offer important opportunities for understanding municipal government behavior and decision making. The MDWD is a unique dataset of municipal CWSs in the U.S. that includes information about their residents, their city governments, and their drinking water systems.

    In 2023, Washington, D.C. had the highest population density in the United States, with 11,130.69 people per square mile. As a whole, there were about 94.83 residents per square mile in the U.S., and Alaska was the state with the lowest population density, with 1.29 residents per square mile. The problem of population density Simply put, population density is the population of a country divided by the area of the country. While this can be an interesting measure of how many people live in a country and how large the country is, it does not account for the degree of urbanization, or the share of people who live in urban centers. For example, Russia is the largest country in the world and has a comparatively low population, so its population density is very low. However, much of the country is uninhabited, so cities in Russia are much more densely populated than the rest of the country. Urbanization in the United States While the United States is not very densely populated compared to other countries, its population density has increased significantly over the past few decades. The degree of urbanization has also increased, and well over half of the population lives in urban centers.

    The 2020 cartographic boundary shapefiles are simplified representations of selected geographic areas from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). These boundary files are specifically designed for small-scale thematic mapping. When possible, generalization is performed with the intent to maintain the hierarchical relationships among geographies and to maintain the alignment of geographies within a file set for a given year. Geographic areas may not align with the same areas from another year. Some geographies are available as nation-based files while others are available only as state-based files. A consolidated city is a unit of local government for which the functions of an incorporated place and its county or minor civil division (MCD) have merged. This action results in both the primary incorporated place and the county or MCD continuing to exist as legal entities, even though the county or MCD performs few or no governmental functions and has few or no elected officials. Where this occurs, and where one or more other incorporated places in the county or MCD continue to function as separate governments, even though they have been included in the consolidated government, the primary incorporated place is referred to as a consolidated city. The Census Bureau classifies the separately incorporated places within the consolidated city as place entities and creates a separate place (balance) record for the portion of the consolidated city not within any other place. The generalized boundaries of the consolidated cities in this file are based on those as of January 1, 2020, as reported through the Census Bureau's Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS).

The Census Bureau treats the following entities as equivalents of counties for purposes of data presentation: Municipios in Puerto Rico, Districts and Islands in American Samoa, Municipalities in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The entire area of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas is covered by counties or equivalent entities. The generalized boundaries for counties and equivalent entities are based on those as of January 1, 2023, primarily as reported through the Census Bureau's Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS).

    This file contains the complete set of data reported to 122 Cities Mortality Reposting System. The system was retired as of 10/6/2016. While the system was running each week, the vital statistics offices of 122 cities across the United States reported the total number of death certificates processed and the number of those for which pneumonia or influenza was listed as the underlying or contributing cause of death by age group (Under 28 days, 28 days - 1 year, 1-14 years, 15-24 years, 25-44 years, 45-64 years, 65-74 years, 75-84 years, and - 85 years). U:Unavailable. - : No reported cases.* Mortality data in this table were voluntarily reported from 122 cities in the United States, most of which have populations of >100,000. A death is reported by the place of its occurrence and by the week that the death certificate was filed. Fetal deaths are not included. Total includes unknown ages.     Measurement technique
    To measure the rank and respective trends, we initially gathered data from the five most recent American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates. We then analyzed and categorized the data for each of the racial categories identified by the U.S. Census Bureau. Based on the required racial category classification, we calculated the rank. For geographies with no population reported for the chosen race, we did not assign a rank and excluded them from the list. It is possible that a small population exists but was not reported or captured due to limitations or variations in Census data collection and reporting. We ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified racial categories and do not rely on any ethnicity classification, unless explicitly required.For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.

    This list ranks the 281 Cities in the Washington by Hispanic White population, as estimated by the United States Census Bureau. It also highlights population changes in each Cities over the past five years.

    When available, the data consists of estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates, including:

    • 2018-2022 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates
    • 2017-2021 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates
    • 2016-2020 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates

    • Rank by Hispanic White Population: This column displays the rank of Cities in the Washington by their Hispanic White population, using the most recent ACS data available.
    • Cities: The Cities for which the rank is shown in the previous column.
    • Hispanic White Population: The Hispanic White population of the Cities is shown in this column.
    • % of Total Cities Population: This shows what percentage of the total Cities population identifies as Hispanic White. Please note that the sum of all percentages may not equal one due to rounding of values.
